Jason Mallory is the youngest child of Jack and Pamela Mallory. His father was a war hero who died of a drug overdose when Jason was only two-years-old. His older siblings, Franklin and Liz, were about ten when this happened, and were much more affected by it. Jason grew up without a father, and distanced from his siblings. He would eventually fall in with a kid he met from school named James Sanders, who got him involved in dealing an experimental new drug called "Blur", which makes you feel like you're moving at super speed. Eventually, the two of them were busted and arrested by the police. Jason ratted James out, and was let off on probation. His mother incredibly disappointed in him, he ended up dropping out of High School and running away, where he was inevitably found by Potts International, who offered him a fix to his problems. Young and impressionable, Jason agreed.
He was then put through the process of Terrigenesis, and when he came out, he found himself actually capable of moving at super speeds. He appropriately named himself Blur, and was placed on the Squadron Supreme. His contract with Potts International allowed him the use of concentrated Blur, which makes him even faster, so long as it is kept highly under wraps and not distributed to any of his fellow heroes.
After becoming famous as a member of the Squadron, Jason reconnected with his siblings, who decided to give him a second chance. His brother, Franklin, even agreed to become his lawyer, and Liz began acting as his personal publicist, as she worked for a talent managing firm. He has since expressed desire in having a film series about his adventures as Blur be fast-tracked into production, which Potts International thinks is a fantastic idea.
The Blur would later be assassinated by the Black Panther, who became fed up with his attitude and his illicit activities that could've harmed the Squadron's reputation.

Trivia
- Blur does not get along with most of his teammates, particularly Thunderstrike and Captain Marvel. He does, however, get along with Spider-Monkey, and hits on Gigantica when she first joins the team.
