History
I never wanted to be a King... or a hero... or even a mutant. I just wanted to have a normal life. But clearly that ship has sailed... so I might as well die like a hero... like my father.

After tensions between human and mutantkind grew to the point of violence, mutant rights activist, Erik Lehnsherr, founded his own mutant nation on the island of Genosha, just off the European shore. After the human forces claimed the lives of both Magneto's children, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, he began to feel like he was losing the war.
In an attempt to further the mutant cause, Magneto had a child with the human geneticist, Moira MacTaggart, who had allied herself with the mutants. He demanded for her to take the baby away and raise him in solitude, so that he could be protected from the humans. Raised as Jason MacTaggart, he developed mutant abilities very similar to his father at a young age. As Jason became a teenager, his mother decided it was time for him to meet his father, and he was dubbed Magnus, the Prince of Genosha.
Magnus paired with his father, and the two of them began making strides in the war. But things grew worse when Magneto fell to the might of the Sentinels. Discouraged and afraid, Magnus barricaded himself in Genosha, unsure of how to proceed. As his people grew weary and restless, he attempted to work with his brightest minds to broker a peace treaty, but they were interrupted by an onslaught of Sentinels. The mutants fought as hard as they could, and Magnus led the charge against the Sentinels in order to take the brunt of the attack. Eventually, their forces began to fall, and Magnus was consumed by the energy blasts of the Sentinels.
However, instead of dying, Magnus was instead plucked from his reality by the Silver Sentry and placed onto Team X in order to travel across the multiverse righting wrongs. He initially faced some pushback from some of his teammates, particularly Cyclops and Angel, for being the son of Magneto. However, Magnus was not too bothered, as he was mostly just focused on completing missions out of the hope that he would one day be able to return to his home world and help his people.
During his tenure with the team, Magnus formed a genuine friendship with one of his teammates; Damian Creed, who was the son of Mystique and Sabretooth. The team eventually found themselves in a reality where the Red Skull had bargained a deal with Mephisto to open a portal to Hell and consume his enemies. When the portal grew too big for him to control, Magnus and Predator teamed up to push him back, but they each became consumed with hellfire. During their final moments, Damian pulled Jason into a kiss, which he decided to reciprocate, so as not to die with any more regrets.
