History
Hybrid is a member of The Gorilla Gang and an amalgamation of gibbon and arachnid, so you could say that he's a Spidermonkey.
Early life
Jared Masterson was an ordinary individual, albeit one who was surly and snide 98% of the time. He and his brother Bernard (who would later be known as Baboom) worked at a DMV in New York. They kept their jobs for a few years before the building was destroyed in the Caerrian-Human war and they were both put out of their jobs. With nowhere ele to go they decided to apply for Human research experiments.
A startling transformation
However it was a trap and the head of the Human research lab as none other than Dr. Nicodemus a mad scientist. He locked up the group, fused them with Caerrian weaponry and experimented with their DNA, splicing it with monkey and ape DNA. Jared however was an exception, along with gibbon DNA he accidentally received Black widow DNA. This had a huge impact on his appearance, He grew fur, spider like fangs, eight equally spider like eyes, eight long clawed legs sprouted out of his back (and folded when not in use), spider like skin alongside a tail, which had spinnerets encased in the tip. As well as these extra features, he grew venom glands and Nicodemus added storage space in his arms so that his hands could fold into the arms and be replaced by diamond edged buzz saws. As an added precaution Nicodemus placed mind controlling devices in the groups brains so that they wouldn't rebel against their creator.
Free at last!
Jared was then given the codename of Hybrid (it was originally Spidermonkey, but Winston Riker and Mantis just laughed when Nicodemus suggested that idea, so he abandoned it) and sent out to steal lab equipment for Nicodemus. However Hybrid and the others met resistance, the Offbeats. Hybrid squared off against Arachnion but stopped when Sparky shot him with his electricity powers after Silver told the group of why they were ransacking a lab. After being freed the group left and went into isolation for a few months.
New life
After those months the group decided to stop hiding and come back to the world, something Hybrid was opposed to (when asked if it was because of his appearance he said no and that it was because he disliked he pollution of NY). The group then decided that for the good of mankind they world become a super team and fight Nicodemus, among other evil villains. Hybrid shares the same costume as Baboom, it has blue semi-spherical pauldrons with spikes ringing the edges, red amour and blue pants. He is good friends with Archnion due to their similar arachnid appearance.
