Janet van Dyne, aka Wasp was the daughter of world-renowned scientist Vernon van Dyne. After Vernon's death, she was sent to live with her aunt, who pushed her in to stardom and was abusive towards her and her adoptive sister, Jessica. At a young age, she found out that she was a mutant. She hid this from her aunt and grew up to become a designer for Cross Industries, dating government agent Hank Pym. But after her boss went mad and became a supervillain, she used one of her prototype designs to battle him, becoming a well known superheroine. She is a founding member of the Avengers.

- Flight - Janet is capable of growing insect-like wings that help her fly around.
- Size Alteration - Her suit allows her to change her size from the size of an ant to a huge giant form.
- Insect Communication and Control - Her secondary mutation allows her to communicate with and to control insects.
- Electric Zaps - Her combat suit gives her the ability to fire off powerful blasts of electricity.
