History
At the end of the day, I'm in no rush. I've learned a lot about myself in the past month and I'm ready to really try and live a life that isn't so centered around Captain America even if it's just for a little. So honestly, I think just going to keep it steady...And takes this one day at a time.

- — James Rogers
James Rogers is the son of Captain America and Black Widow. He was the product of the Superhero baby boom in which many heroes had settled down to live a relatively normal life after they had defeated all of their foes. This turned out to be false however and the Avengers along with 80% of the Superpowered population were wiped out by the Villain named Ultron. From there spurned 10+ years of Ultron dominance that was eventually ended by James and his adopted siblings the Avengers.
Early Years

The start of a new family
James Grant Rogers, was born in Brooklyn, New York City to Steve Rogers and Natalia Romanova on February 10, 1994. The two Avengers had decided to settle down the year before and had gotten married like some of their teammates prior. A little less than a year later they had James and the rest was history. As a young boy James was further along in his development due to the Super Solider Serum being passed down to him from his father.
Even as a toddler he exhibited great strength and an awareness that simply wasn't natural to anyone of that age. According to Tony, everyone knew he would be special.
As a young child James lived with his parents in their house in the suburbs of Brooklyn, living the quiet civilian life. For a couple of years the family lived the peaceful life that Steve and Natasha had always wanted.
Ultron Revolution
In the year 1998 tragedy struck the entire world, specifically America, and even more specifically the Rogers household. After being defeated for the first time in 94' the robot Ultron came back bigger and better than ever, launching one final winner takes all attack on the Avengers, planning to take over the entire world.
For the Avengers they had been retired for four years not having to lift a finger unless something really dangerous was going on, and even then that hadn’t happened yet. The team were out of practice, and as Ultron started his descent on New York it was obvious to anyone watching that he had the upper hand. With that in mind Steve and Natasha got ready to send James and any of the other kids to the Arctic Base that the Avengers had off the grid.
Even as a small 4 year old child James understood everything that was going on. His parents had been rather obvious with what was going on. From their house they went to the Avengers Mansion where Tony had a jet on standby ready to take the kids. Tony had already attempted to fight the superbot on his own and nearly lost his life. Strapped into the plane. James spoke to his parents one last time, distinctly remembering the tears that rolled down his mother’s cheeks and the grim smile his father held. At this moment James understood that he’d never see his parents again. All the young child could do was hold his mother’s last words as close as possible. “Be strong my love, life will only get harder from here. Remember that your father and I love you so very much.”
Ultron was getting very close to Avengers Mansion and so the plane had to take off leaving without Francis Barton, a notable omission even at the time. In the ship it had been James and Torunn' jobs to calm down Pym and Azari. It had mostly been Pym who was struggling as he wasn’t even a year old at the time of the attack.
When the kids reached the Biodome they wandered around their new safe haven for hours before Tony returned caked in blood nursing what felt like 1000 injuries. He never exactly told them what happened but the dark atmosphere made it all too clear. Things would never be the same again.
In the Year 1999 Vision had come to report to Tony that Ultron had indeed killed the President of the United States. However it was too late as James had found the channel on TV leading to him, Torunn, and Tony to catch the ending of the White House Massacre. At this point with Ultron destroying New York and most of the US’s military forces, taking the White House was one of the lowest points for the country, And it was the moment Tony decided to start training the children.
Despite the fact that James and Torunn were only 5, and Azari had just turned 4, he put them into training programs. Driven by his fear of losing the kids he devised a very strong and tough program for them, which the kids took too vigorously. During this time James could only really hold onto his parents' words of comfort, and of course Torunn’s insistence that her Father was coming to save them.
In the Year 2001, Ultron had successfully destroyed all of S.H.I.E.L.D. and it’s resources. The year prior he had completed his creation of Ultra City and at this point had finished conquering the USA. He’s taken over the internet making so Vision was Tony’s only real asset in seeing the outside world. At this point James is a different person altogether, focused on one thing and that was getting strong enough to beat Ultron, though Tony insisted that fighting Ultron wasn’t an option for the kids simply a last resort. Ultron has taken over Central America and is starting to scout Europe showing the world that he was no joke.
The year is 2004 and Vision has come back from another mission as usual, James listens in on Vision and Tony’s conversations and learns that most of the world’s heroes are dead. This drives him to want to fight even more, though it does the opposite for Tony lessening their training and instead focusing on extending the Biodome and keeping them safe.
In 2006, Vision comes back broken and nearly destroyed as Ultron has found a way to harm him even when he’s intangible. For this reason scouting has become even more dangerous for the robot. James and the kids have continued to train, but at this point his mother’s words are nothing more than a faint whisper in his ears. Instead Torunn’s insistence that her father is coming is what dominates his training sessions. It only makes him angry at her for trying to get him and the other to hope for a savior. To him, The world is a lost cause.

A younger James Rogers, renouncing his training
The year is 2008 and Ultron has finished taking over Europe and has now started scouting the Asia borders. At this point James has mostly abandoned his training and anything having to do with saving the world. James is ambushed by the more grown up heroes. Torunn at 14, Azari at 13, Pym at 11, and he himself at 14. Azari wakes him up with a shock to his foot causing him to use his electric shield to send him flying. From here the events of Heroes of Tomorrow take place.
The children turn on the Iron Avengers, starting a chain of events that led to them fighting and destroying Ultron with the help of Iron Man, Hawkeye and the Hulk.
The Rebuild: 2008-2009
Post Ultron's defeat there was still no time for celebration. The newly dubbed Heroes of Tomorrow instead did there best to liberate any city they passed by, barely taking any time for rest. Even without their leader the robots still fought, at first it was still war. They didn't have the technology that would later make it easy to fight the robots. They needed more strategy and this is where the young James Rogers really shined.
with the newly added Francis Barton the five heroes worked non stop daily trying to get the world to where it was before. For James it became increasingly easy to throw himself into his work, as it was a way to ignore the brewing relationship between Francis and his long time friend Torunn, the girl he could never quite sort out his feelings for. Mostly because he felt there wasn't anytime for romance, a belief that he quickly changed on. [3]
After liberating most of the USA efforts turned to fixing Ultra City and branching out to Europe. In Europe they started with helping out the United Kingdom as they believed liberating the biggest countries first would allow them to start helping everyone else. As it was quickly becoming clear that a worldwide effort was going to be the only thing that could truly save the world.

Around this time the popularity of the Heroes of Tomorrow skyrocketed for many reasons. At first no one really believed they destroyed Ultron, but when it became clear America was no longer being oppressed people around the world started to fight back and they wanted to know who their heroes were.
James was the leader and spokesperson of the group and because of this, media attention was immediately thrust upon, couple that with the fact that he's the son of Captain America, the man who is considered the first hero for many really gave people something to latch onto. This made James take his job more serious than ever. He'd be a symbol for the people, he garner up hope and tell everyone they'd be alright, even if he didn't always believe it himself.
This new role caused James to recede a bit into his shell, as the mental aspects became more tiring than the physical. After liberating most of the United Kingdom the team returned to the Biodome for the first time in a long time. At this point with the help of Vision, Tony, and Banner they began to integrate the Scavengers who wanted to stay into their new home. Starting a long term relationship with the fellow heroes of the world. Particularly Daisy Johnson, and Eli Bradley.
The Modern Age: 2010-
At this point the life of the Heroes of Tomorrow have slowed down significantly. James finds himself with Pym and Hawkeye by his side in Nice, France. It's noted by Francis that this is the seventh straight mission that they have to go shorthanded, and that he has very little arrows in his quiver. James however isn't worried, instead he's more focused on the scenery. Telling Francis that he had enough arrows, and they were all going to make it out just fine.
The mission is easy enough and here we see James and the limited Heroes of Tomorrow squad at work. Even with just three of them they are a well oiled machine. The do every task with lightning quick precision, and before long the team find themselves celebrating a victory with the people of France. James proves he's up to the task of Captain America by delivering a speech to the people that gives the hope many haven't felt in years.
After the mission James and the others find themselves back in the Biodome getting ready for a well deserved rest but not before having a meeting with the rest of the Avengers.
The meeting is simple a briefing on their mission to the Savage Lands, they talk about how Azari has scouted the place and how they are now ready to make a move on the place to search for Wolverine. despite all of this it still isn't the most important thing they have to look out for though. The kids find out quickly that the country Madripoor have had their eyes on the USA. And they plan on making a move. While outraged they aren't allowed to make any moves yet.

Omega Red in the Savage Lands
Still James feels that this new problem is going to change things in ways they've never anticipated. For better or worse is yet to be decided. The second Mission into the Savage Lands is quickly declared a bust by the group of heroes. In the Savage Lands they fought and defeated a weakened Omega Red, and a tribe of the Lands calling themselves the Golden People. While the battles were easy they also proved to be quite meaningless which was beginning to eat at James. He believed there had to be a better way to get help and this causes him to get into an argument with Banner as he wouldn't accept the fact that their hands were tied. Eventually Azari decided he could take a visit to Wakanda and Pym decided they could find some help in the brain department. With this knowledge James split the group up into three teams, going to Wakanda with Azari and Torunn, whilst Francis went with Daisy and Eli to fight against Crossfire. Pym and Banner stayed back hoping to find some more people to help them out.[4]
Francis was openly against sending just him and Scavengers but James insisted that if he wasn't sure then he could take Vision as well, Francis didn't and this soon became a point of contention between the two heroes. In Wakanda James struggled to get Queen Shuri to understand what he was asking for, and as they got to Genosha he also struggled immensely to get get Emma Frost and the other X-Men to listen to him as well something he was not very used to being Captain America. Still James held out hope that they were in a good position because of the teens they saw with the X-Men. His hope was that if they were anything like the Avengers, they wouldn't be able to sit down and take orders for too long.
Despite the Wakanda Mission going well, and Pym and Banner's mission going well, Francis mission proved to be a problem as he and the Scavengers did not have the firepower to take down Crossfire and the surprise appearance of Taskmaster did not help either. They had been saved by Riri, a young girl who created an Iron Man suit out of scraps. At the end of the day Francis was livid blaming James for the failed mission. James did his best, handling the situation professionally but it didn't stop Francis from taking a couple of shots at James, believing he only took Torunn to Wakanda because he had a crush on her, instead of letting her fight on the mission. Eventually the situation was diffused, but not before Torunn began to wonder if Francis' words had any truth to them.
Torunn eventually worked up the courage to ask James about the situation and he quickly insisted that there was no truth to Francis' words, and that he only ever did what was best for the team. Torunn eventually asked James if he had any feelings for her and he began to evade answering the question instead telling Torunn that he shouldn't have had to answer the question as he wasn't the one who dated other people. And that he didn't have romantic feelings for anyone, because he couldn't afford them, not when the world was still in the place it was. They words however were very clearly not true as it didn't take long for James and Daisy to become involved with one another. [5]
After Francis' loss against Cross and Taskmaster, they all agreed that it would be best if they all went to apprehend the villains the next time an opportunity arose. And so when they time came. They left to Ultra City and prepared to fight the villains. Things went well, with James having the upperhand on Taskmaster, and Crossfire seemingly out for the count, until the appearance of Radioactive Man. He held off the Avengers long enough for Taskmaster to leave in a jet, and to top it off they barely beat Radioactive Man, rather it had been Torunn who basically managed it all on her own. This caused James to hold a meeting after the mission, explaining to the heroes that they could no longer go into the field without intense mission prep. Before they always knew what they're enemy was going to be like, but it was becoming clear that they didn't just have to fight Ultron anymore, they couldn't predict who they would have to fight, so they had to study everyone.
James and Francis had been the ones to interrogate Crossfire and Radioactive Man. They hadn't felt like they got much, But it was clear James got under his skin, and because of that they managed to learn that Viper had been working with Cross and the rest.

Zemo and the Master's in Madripoor
After the interrogation James had went to his room to plan the counterattack with Daisy, something Torunn quickly noticed. While James had been planning on planning their assault on Madripoor, Daisy had quickly swayed his mind making it clear that she didn't just want to do work. She wanted to have fun also, something that James agreed too, which was surprising considering how fast he turned Torunn down. When it came time to breech Madripoor, James was not sure of himself something which was not common for the Super-Solider. Despite doing what he always did James was feeling as if something was off. Still eventually he sobered up and got the team ready to fight. As they got to Madripoor and prepared to fight James apprehension was rewarded. They were met by the creations of Egghead, Zemo, Viper, Knockout, and Moonstone who immediately began to fight Torunn.
The mission was a failure as Vision was taken down, and James learned that he and the others had been baited to go there. The destruction caused in Madripoor was quickly reported and blamed on the Avengers, there first ever international incident, and as the world seemed to jump down on them it was clear everything had been pre-planned from the start, because at the end of the day, none of the Avengers were politicians. In a time where things were beginning to look impossible for the Avengers, James insisted that their spirits stay high, as it was true that they couldn't do anything about the situation, but they could do their best to make sure Valerie succeeded. And in the end their patience was rewarded. [6] After
Shortly after it became clear that nothing the Masters were doing could stop the rise of Valerie, they had planned to assassinate the one person they couldn't have accounted for. The chances of the attempt panning out was slim to none, and got even worse after Taskmaster and Black Ant came clean to the Avengers about what was going on, in hopes of getting a deal from the young heroes. The Avengers accepted the tip and easily stopped the Assassination attempt and began arresting all of the Masters of Evil, and giving one chance to Taskmaster and Black Ant to reform and never show up again.
James speech to the X-Men did end up having the intended effects, but not on the group they had been expecting. On a seemingly random day the Blue Team made their way to the Biodome using a stolen Blackbird, and the group cited James as a big reason for why they left, despite not being at the forefront the group did hear his speech to the others and they believed he was right as they helped the heroes stop the Assassination attempt on Valerie. James took a friendly liking to the X-Men especially Jessica, because of her mutant ability. He found it made her an interesting sparring partner.[7][8]
When Daisy was recruited to S.H.I.E.L.D. for the reformation of the defunct organization it became clear to the two heroes that they would have to breakup because of the inevitable distance that was now going to be between them.[9] The split was amicable, and the two heroes agreed that maybe when they were older and less busy they might be able to give it another shot. Before she left with Nick Fury, The man offered James a head position stating that they could always use a person like him. James however declined saying his time with the Avengers was not done yet, and that there would also be time for him to go to S.H.I.E.L.D.
After the events of the Masters of Evil and Daisy and the Scavengers leaving to join S.H.I.E.L.D., James and the others continued doing what they were doing before and kept on the lookout for new heroes on the scene. Eventually Friday pointed him in the direction of Oregon where he found evidence of a new spider-themed hero. After stalking out a High School and watching May Parker perform superhuman feats he confronted her and the two got into a very small scuffle, before May was horrified when she realized she had hit Captain America. Eventually she took him home and he met her Mother who while worried for May was happy that the Avenger had taken notice of May so they could help her learn how to fight properly.[10]

Conversation between May, MJ, and James about her being Spider-Girl
While at the Parker's residence James was alerted by his teammates who began to explain to him the situation in Latveria. James quickly agreed that they needed to take care of it and so the group headed on their plan to deal with Doctor Doom. In Latveria James and the other's found themselves fighting against swarms of doombots instantly, but their greatest foe quickly proved to be Franklin Richards who was revealed to be alive along with his sister, they had been living in Latveria since Ultron blew up New York City.
They weren't able to beat Franklin but collectively they were able to convince him and his sister that following Doom wasn't the right thing to do. Eventually Franklin and Valeria agreed and helped them escape Latveria. After doing that Franklin used his reality warping abilities to reform most of the Earth, speeding up and effectively ending the restoration efforts, turning the Earth back to normal. Because of this the Avengers moved back into Avengers Mansion and the world was ready to usher in a new era of peace.[11][12]
Annihilation
4 months after the situation in Latveria, James finds himself with not a lot to do. It's implied that within these four months there hasn't been anyone for him or the Avengers to fight and that for these four months they've just been relaxing and doing as much normal stuff as they can. The team was relatively happy but Torunn noted that she was worried for the team, specifically James, Pym, and Francis. She was worried for the three of them as she wasn't sure they would be able to live lives without being superheroes. She pointed out that She and Azari had duties within their respective Kingdoms, this was something they'd both have to deal with for the rest of their lives. But James, Francis, and Pym didn't have anything like that. Pym was able to identify the fact that he would continue to work with Tony on Stark Tech, but James and Francis both didn't have an answer. What would they do when they weren't superheroes? It was a question James didn't like thinking about too much and so when the Wrecking Crew showed up he quickly directed the team to the fight.
During this fight James took on Bulldozer on his own and managed to defeat him despite the previously thought gulf in strength. However the abilites James showed in the fight was obvious to all that James was far stronger than originally advertised, pushing out force of at least 2 tons. James supposedly used nearly all of his force to take out Bulldozer in one punch, and at the time he didn't believe that was something he could even manage.[13]
2 Weeks later the Avengers found themselves responding to reports of a robot terrorizing Manhattan. The robot was the Super-Adaptoid and he got the jump on the Avengers quickly stealing their abilities and it making himself extremely hard to fight. The X-Men's sudden appearance however had turned the tides and they managed to destroy the Adaptoid after seeing what it di to the Avengers. However the questions were still there. Where did the robot come from?[14]
While the questions were being asked Jim Hammond showed up and promised answers, explaining that Valeria had rediscovered something and that they all needed to hear what he was about to tell them. The X-Men left to their Mansion and the Avengers listened to what Jim had to say. Jim explained to them about the being they fought in the Negative Zone and how they believed the Adaptoid had been sent to Earth because of the residue Valeria found on it.
Though most of the Avengers wanted to get a second look at the Negative Zone James was unsure and so he decided to hold it off for one more day where they had another meeting on the situation. During this time some held reservations about going back to the Negative Zone but Dani, Cassie, and May managed to convince James and make him see reason, explaining that this was something they had to do, and if he said no everyone would say no as his opinion was basically the law. Eventually he agreed and they planned to send a team to the Negative Zone. The team consisted of Torunn, Riri, Pym, Jim, and Valeria and was meant for them to go and learn about the monster Jim and Valeria fought.[15]
James left to Westchester to alert the X-Men of the brewing situation. At the sametime the heroes returned from the Negative Zone as no one at that time realized the large time differences between the Negative Zone and the Positive Universe. He brought the X-Men back to Avenger's Mansion and it was there they learned that Annihilus was headed there way, and that he was supposedly a cosmic level threat. One worse than Ultron.
This forced everyone to come together and begin to plan a way around the situation. The smartest of the heroes began to plan a way they could possible destroy Annihilus' army and James began to train the heroes more inexperienced heroes with Francis, that way they might be ready in a week's time.
A few days into Cap's intense training with Spider-Girl, Stature, and Powerhouse, a bizarre situation occurred. A warrior from the future appeared and seemingly held the intention to kill James who she explained was her target. Most of the Avengers fought her and for a moment she even beat Torunn, however it was after that moment she explained she never said she was going to kill James. Instead Lyra actually kissed James before leaving as she believed to complete her mission. It was later explained that Lyra had actually taken his DNA and was planning to take it back to the future with her for breeding purposes.

Lyra Appearing at Avenger's Mansion.
After a talk with James, Francis, and Torunn they learned that Lyra didn't really want to go to the future as her future was dominated by a gender based war, and what was even worse was that her own people despised her. This led her to choose to stay in the 21st Century, but not before warning James that the kiss they shared didn't mean anything, despite what seemed like evidence to the contrary.
With Lyra's immense strength James added her into his plan and began to formulate a strike team that consisted of himself Powerhouse, Wolverine, Mind Witch, and Gambit, heading into the Negative Zone to stop Annihilus before he could get to the positive universe.[16]
After that interruption things went back to normal and training was ramped up once again. This time with Lyra included, and soon enough it became time for the mission to be executed. The group teleported to the Negative Zone and found themselves in Arthros.
James began to lead the group and together they moved through Arthros fighting off the Arthrosians and conducting their plan to take down Annihilus and his army. It was here in Arthros that James got to see Dani shine. Despite being a novice and not in a position of leadership Dani skills, became quite evident every moment they stayed in the Negative Zone.
Her leadership, strength, confidence, and positivity made James believe that Dani could be his replacement. And the moment that Dani used his shield to fight off blasts from Admiral Salo that truly made James believe that he wasn't dreaming and that Dani could actually be Captain America, despite her little experience.
At this point James was sold, his mind was made up and so he had it in his mind that this mission was going to be his last. When Dani attempted to give him his shield back, he told her too keep it. And at that moment she accepted, not understanding that James meant she would be keeping it much longer than just this one mission.

James and the other's just barely escape the explosion.
As the team progressed they got to their final task of the mission, which was blowing up Annihilus' army. They managed to set up the bomb, but Annihilus seemed to be aware of the plan and managed to open a portal of his own and send himself and three of his ships through with him.
The heroes way out a device created by Riri and the others also began to malfunction meaning they were going to be caught in the blast. The explosion rang out taking out Annihilus' ships and the team just barely managed to escape.[17]
When James and the others woke up they found themselves in Cuba as they were transported to a random place on Earth due to the effects of the Negative Zone. They quickly called a Quinjet to there location and began to plan on how they could help everyone when they got to the Mansion as they were dealing with Annihilus and his ships that managed to get through.
With their help they managed to take down all three ships leaving just Annihilus left to fight. However many of the heroes were left wounded either by Annihilus or by the Hulk who had been rampaging before Lyra's intervention.
Facing off against the Annihilus it took work but the combined might of the Avengers and the X-Men managed to take Annihilus down. After the battle Dani attempted to return the shield to James once more denied telling her he meant what he said, and that she should keep it.
Danielle denied telling James that he was Captain America, not her. James explained to her this was the last day he planned on being Captain America for a while, and that he believed Earth needs a Captain America and that he believed she would be the best one for the job. Though he didn't plan on making her do something she didn't want too.
Danielle was shocked and wondered if he was serious but after confirming that he had been sure since the Negative Zone she agreed, giving James a hug and promising to make the name Captain America proud for as long as she wore stars and stripes.
Other's mainly the Heroes of Tomorrow and Spider-Girl all noticed this go down. And with everyone celebrating the victory James used this time to explain to both the Avengers and the X-Men that he was "retiring" from Captain America. He explained that he loved being an Avengers and that he always would be an Avenger but that he needed to go on this sabbatical for an undetermined amount of time. He was rescinding his title and giving it to Dani.
While shocked they managed to take it in stride, as a new Era of Avengers seemed to be upon them.
When it was just James, Torunn, Francis, Pym, and Azari. James explained to them that he had taken Torunn's words to heart and planned on finding out what else he loved aside from fighting. The additions of heroes like Dani, Cassie, and May made James believe that world was in good hands and would be able to managed without him for awhile, and that the Avengers would still flourish.
Torunn and Azari were also leaving to Asgard and Wakanda respectively. Pym and Francis explained to the three of them that while the Avengers will still be a force, it would never be the same as that bond and what they did could never ever be created. They all agreed, and while it was obvious that things might not ever be the same, they would always be family.[18][19]
After this James had one more talk with Dani who after it had been announced that their was going to be a new Captain America, began to doubt herself as the hate seemed to come from all sides for a a multitude of irrelevant reasons. James managed to calm her down before leaving the Mansion and getting ready to go on his Journey.
Despite telling everyone he was leaving he didn't actually tell anyone where he was going. This was partially because for a long time James had no clue where he was going to go. However after looking through his mother's journal, he identified Cartagena Colombia, and left privately to his new city. To help ensure no one would figure out who he was he dyed his hair blonde to help the illusion he was just a regular guy.[20]
A Double Life
After giving up the stars and stripes to Danielle Cage, James found himself without Captain America and a longing to figure out what he was without the shield. Reading an excerpt from his mother's journal about her time in Colombia he decided to head there and tried to find some peace as James Rogers. He arrived in Colombia in early February and did his best to live life as a civilian.
He made friends with an older man named Arturo Morillo at he coffee shop he frequented, and met a woman named Valentina Garcia, who he began to develop romantic feelings. Despite all of these things two months passed. And soon it was the beginning of April and James felt closer to figuring out what would help fufill his everyday life as James Rogers. One day while at his favorite cafe he has a talk with Valentina, who asks the Super-Soldier why he's down, James attempts to dance around the questions, but she eventually asks him what he wants from this life. And the young Super-Soldier admits that he doesn't know. Indicating that despite the time he had spent searching, he hadn't found what he was looking for.[21]

Eventually James goes to his home located in Cartagena and thinks about how he's failed to do what he's accomplished and that it might just be better for him to go back home to New York. He admits to himself that fighting and missions has always been the easier part of his life, and that even when he came to Cartagena it wasn't completely innocent and rather he had come because he was following a trail of a brewing drug ring. He admits that even when he was supposed to taking time off he hadn't managed to do it. He tells himself that he'll stop the drug shipment tonight and then he'd go back home to America.
It's later that same night the Super-Soldier makes his move. He's at the port of Cartagena which was one of the biggest docking and shipping centers across the globe and in these past two months James has learned that drugs have been moving through this port.
He sneaks up on his enemies and sees five men waiting for the shipment to arrive but James notices something odd as he sees hostages towards the side of the port. James is worried as there was never any sign of a hostage situation when he was looking into the Cartel. He notices 3 women and 2 men, but the most interesting thing was a young girl who he figures to be no older than eight years old.
He suddenly has to change his plans and sneakily attacks the five Cartel thugs he manages to take out one thug before the others notice and he's gives them an opportunity to surrender, but instead they swallow a pill and afterwards the begin to exhibit super-abilities. despite the power up, James takes them all out and headed for the hostages, he's able to untie some of them, but they are eventually surrounded once more by six more people.
He notices a Dragon among them and menacing mercenary wielding a scythe. Lastly there was a girl around his age dressed in the colors of the Cuban flag who he notes looks miserable but ready to fight. They warn him he's messing with a delicate operation but James is aware the hostage are more important. He asks them what drug they are creating and they simply tell him they work for the Villamos Cartel. There conversation gets no where and El Dragon and La Bandera are ordered to fight James. While the Dragon accepts the girl denies and switches sides.
James hesitantly decides to team up with her and they take down the group and save the hostages. However as he's saving the hostages James notices the little girl was injured and was losing a lot of blood. James orders La Bandera some of the pills that were being shipped and meet at the Hospital, he takes the girl back to the hospital and the doctors quickly notice that she needs a transplant, however they ran out of her rare blood type a couple of hours ago.
Luckily for them James offers up his own blood they are hesitant until he reveals himself as Captain America. They wonder if it's going to do something to the girl and he admits it might but at least she'd still be alive. And so they undergo a transplant giving James' blood to the young girl. Almost immediately after receiving the blood the girl stabilizes and James wonders what he's going to do about all of this now.
James then went on to talk to La Bandera she explained to him her situation, telling James that she was a superhero from Cuba and that she was kidnapped by the Cartel after she caught on their schemes. That they were selling a drug that was killing people after briefly giving superpowers, like the one the men he fought against. She explained they were selling in many of the Latin American countries and she was trying to stop it. She didn't want to leave Colombia until the Cartel where dealt with. James agreed to her help and she began to live with the young Captain from then on.
The next morning James has a lot to deal with. There is a traumatized young girl living with him as he attempts to search for her missing parents who were also supposedly taken Hostage with her. He's learned that the girl's name is Carmen and at the moment she's struggling she can't sleep at all and she doesn't feel safe with anyone other than James. Things get a little better for her after the Super-Soldier insists he'll find her parents and that in the meantime he would take care of her to the best of his ability.
He also must deal with Teresa aka La Bandera who is helping him deal with the Cartel case. Now living together the two heroes began to pool together all the information they had on the Villamos Cartel and the Banshee drug. Teresa and James briefly discuss whether they should be more focused on the drugs or the ones selling them, with James more focused on Banshee itself and finding Carmen's parents, while Teresa figured they need to spread their wings because the Villamos Cartel more than likely weren't the only sellers of these drugs.
They agree to do a bit of both when their conversation is interrupted by Nick Fury.

The Super-Soldier and the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. have a bit of a heated conversation where the Agent questions if James knows what he's doing. James explains to Fury that he's not one of his agents, but Fury tells James they helped him set this place up and at that he was a national icon, it was only natural they watched his back. He explains the mission James' undertook was so far away from anything they had ever discussed.
James explains that things are different, bigger than he originally thought, and that time was of the essence. The former Captain America explains to Fury that without him being there, things might have went much differently. James explains that he's just mad about Carmen and Fury tells James that if he had simply warned shield it would have never went as far as James needing to give the girl his blood, which of course was now a slight problem. James tells Fury that he can handle this on his own and that's he sure of that fact. But he also says he's not an idiot, if he's struggling he will call S.H.I.E.L.D. for backup.[22]
Fury agrees to this and then questions James about the Superdrug Banshee. James explains that it's an instant ability enhancer whether you already have powers or not, however it has harsh side-effects or else the drug's use would be widespread. He doesn't know what it's made of, but he gives some of the pills to Nick to allow his team to analyze it instead. As Fury gets ready to leave he reminds James that S.H.I.E.L.D. is there to help and it's only because of their interference no one was asking questions about Carmen. James considers this and insists he will try to work better with S.H.I.E.L.D.
However things get worse before they can get better for James, Teresa and Carmen as they are attacked at a cafe. James and Teresa managed to fend off their attacks and get back to safety. James is annoyed at himself as he feels he made a rookie mistake, and that he never should have let Carmen get outside knowing her situation, luckily physically the girl was alright, and James and Teresa finally agree to split up, something they were arguing about earlier as James believed it was a little to dangerous. But with this attack he realized they had no choice.
Knowing they now had to split up and needing someone to watch Carmen, James decides to bring Valentina over to his house and explains to her the situation at hand. He tells her about being Captain America and Carmen, and she agrees to watch the girl for him allowing him to pursue some leads in regards to Carmen's parents. He finds him self in Santa Lucia fighting a dozen Villamos Cartel thugs. He's saved from a nasty injury as he nearly blasted by a rocket, but aside from that he deals with the Cartel members handedly.[23] After fighting them he finds himself in a small warehouse with another man who calls himself the Informant, insisting that he did his best to get Captain America here. James figures if he knows his own identity the man might actually have information he can use.
Berrios begins to tell James what he knows because he feels that some lines shouldn't be crossed and he tells James the history of Carmen and her parents Maria and Julio Jiménez.
James learns that before Carmen was born her parents had planned to discover a new breakthrough with the Mutant Growth Hormone and their offshoot creation Banshee. At the time they hadn't managed to find any success using Banshee on grown men and women. Most couldn't survive more than one dose, and many died just taking that first dose. Knowing this they figured that Banshee might have a higher chance of success if it was able to grow with the X-Gene from the very beginning. If it could then maybe it would stop burning X-Genes out and only enhance them as they were meant to.
Julio and Maria then decided to have a child and tested the Banshee on the unborn baby. Their research was correct and despite her dormant X-Gene it was clear that the Banshee had assimilated with the X-Gene. Ricardo has proof of this with files and images of Carmen's X-Gene which are clearly enhanced by something else. He explains that Banshee is a success, because of Carmen, but that they weren't able to replicate that success because the Big Man of Crime wanted them to be focused on making adults able to use Banshee.
All of this is interesting but James also quickly learns that the two scientists are dead. And have been dead for at least five days, meaning this happened before he was even aware of all of this. This is a hard pill to swallow for the Sentinel of Liberty as he won't be able to keep his promise to Carmen to bring her parents back. He leaves the Informant giving him a warning to keep on the straight and narrow telling him that S.H.I.E.L.D. would no doubt be watching his every move after this.[24]
He gets back home and breaks the news to Carmen who is inconsolable, however James does his best to help her out. Over the course of the next week Carmen is mostly unresponsive and doesn't eat enough, but James eventually manages to get her to see reason. He explains to Carmen that he lost his parents when he was little to, and that he understand that it was hard thing to go through and that he wished she didn't have to go through any of this. He apologizes for failing her when he promised to bring them back home. He insists that she can mourn whichever way she wants but he can't let her harm herself by not eating or taking care of herself.
He explains he knows she might be mad at him but he doesn't want to see her get hurt. Eventually after a visit from S.H.I.E.L.D. who are there to take Carmen away, and James insisting that, that won't be happening. Carmen and James are able to come to an understanding, the young kid opens up to James about the situation and he promises that he will be there as long as she needs him to be. Carmen accepts this and also says she doesn't want to be left out anymore and that James should teach her English.[25]
After this three weeks fly by and in the meantime James has been teaching Carmen English and helping her adjust whilst taking missions with La Bandera to stop shipments of MGH from leaving Colombia and going into other countries. They have the cartel pinned down and they know it as they begin to retreat. Knowing this James and La Bandera decided it's time to confront the Villamos Cartel so they can spill about who their boss is.[26]
James and Teresa create a plan to storm the fortress and execute it with little trouble. They manage to catch Ernesto and Carmelita Villamos before they can take off and force the two crime lords to tell them about who their boss is. Eventually they spill that their boss is Parker Robbins ka the Hood. The explain that James and Teresa had done too good of a job of destroying their bases and even the Hood could see that now and was pulling back. They learn that the Hood is planning to head to Madripoor to gain international sovereignty, and that a shipment of Banshee hidden by experimental Stark and S.H.I.E.L.D. stealth tech would be headed for the USA so they could continue the drug trade there.[27]
James and Teresa once again split up and with Teresa going to stop the shipment headed to America and James hoping to catch the Hood before the man can leave. James stormed the Hood's Island and fought through a gauntlet of the Hood's best men, unfortunately he wasn't fast enough and the Hood was about to take off on his plane, however the Super-Soldier refused to let him go and managed to catch onto the plane using his grappling gun.

He then fought the rest of the Hood's men before fighting the Hood himself who admitted that he didn't need to do any of this, rather he wanted to do it. This is who he was and he'd never change that. Using Magic and MGH the Hood fought James on the moving plane, but eventually James took him out, ending the reign of the Cartel and the Hood in South America. [28]
A day after this James met up with Teresa on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, the two of them met up with Nick Fury to report on everything they had learned about the Cartel over the past month and in Teresa's case ever since she had been captured. With this case now over and done with Teresa was going back home to Cuba, but James wouldn't allow her to leave empty handed telling Teresa she did an amazing job over the past month. He explains that she is a great hero and that he doesn't want to lose contact with her and hands her a Avengers Identicard, Which not only allows her to communicate with him but other Avengers and James quickly explains that he is offering her a spot as an Avenger. He also explains he trusts her judgement so the next time he sees her, he hopes to see a full South American Avengers team. Teresa thanks James with a hug and a kiss on the cheek, and promises not to let him down and heads off to Cuba.
With that sorted James heads to deal with Carmen, with the mission over James must now decide if he's going to take full responsibility for the girl. It's an easy choice in his mind and he can only hope the girl agrees to the arrangement. Over the past month James realizes that taking care of Carmen and being their for her has been more than enough for him and that's he content in that role. He realizes that maybe what he was missing was just more family, possibly a different one than sort the Avengers could provide.
James finds Carmen who was undergoing some light S.H.I.E.L.D. testing in regards to the developing serum in her body. The doctors at S.H.I.E.L.D. believe she will grow at pace similar to James' own. After that he's given time alone with the child to explain the situation. James explains to Carmen that this past month has been a ride but that technically his mission was over now. He explains however that he doesn't plan on letting her go so easily and that if she was willing, he would and could be her Guardian for the rest of her life. It's a big decision, but Carmen wastes no time accepting with just one caveat and that is for James to promise to never leave. He makes this promise and Carmen happily accepts James as her new guardian, starting off the duo's new life.[29]
Shortly after this its 6 months later. It's October and James and Carmen have decided to move out of their Colombia home and head to Brooklyn New York. There's nothing really holding them to Colombia especially for James who broke up with Valentina amicably as she headed to Caribbean to enter Medical School. Now Brooklyn would be their home for the forseeable future. They head to Brooklyn and at James' apartment they meet the Avengers. Tony, Bruce, Pym, Francis, Torunn, and Azari are all there to welcome James and now Carmen back to New York. The meeting between the O5 and Carmen goes well, and when he's asked about whether he's going to take back the mantle, he insists he has no plans do that any time soon and was rather taking everything one day at a time.[30]
Personality
There are day's I ask myself...Why do we do this again? I'm 16, Francis is the oldest and even he's just 17. Why do we wake up every morning and torture ourselves? Render ourselves useless to this tireless fate? And then I think about what my Dad would say, he'd tell me it's simple. We do it so others don't have to. If my struggle will benefit just one person than so be it. It's enough for me.
- — Captain America (James Rogers)
The moral compass and an indomitable sense of truth and justice. Stricken by Ultron's destruction of the world he vowed to himself to be like his parents, and never lose hope. It's his undeniable ability to rouse hope in others that makes him the leader of the Heroes of Tomorrow. It's the reason he is the most famous out of them as well. It's been said a couple of smiles from James and a few words can get anyone riled up and ready to work. An ability Tony says he got from his father.
James in many ways considers himself more like his mother than his father, but he is a healthy mix of both. Like both of his parents when it comes to killing on the battlefield he has no qualms about it, though it's always his last resort. James can be quiet and reserved something his friends believe is attributed to the large weight on his shoulders. But it's mostly just who he is. He enjoys a good laugh as any teenager would. But he's developed a respect for the quiet and serene moments that are few and far in between. Just as his father and mother did. An attribute of war.
Like his mother, James is a born spy taking to stealth missions even better than the ones he's done as Captain America. It's ironic because bright lights are nearly always on him but he doesn't crave the attention. Rather he uses his spotlight to inspire like his father does, though he rather stay inside and do his own thing like his mother.
Like his father James also enjoys drawing, and not only does he enjoy it but he is very talented at it. He doesn't do it often, but when he does it's a very calming ritual for him.
James is a very serious fighter not allowing himself time for many jokes in the heat of battles. He does this because of videos and stories he's heard of his parents. Both of them took there jobs very seriously, though it was for different reasons. James keeps it serious and calm because he feels the constant need to be a beacon for others. Even if he doesn't necessarily want to be.
James has a hard time balancing life as a superhero and life as a normal kid something that Daisy[31] pointed out to him. That even though he had the world on shoulders, he needed to give himself a break once in a while. At times he finds it very hard to just "turn off" Captain America and be James Rogers. Tony actually believes this got worse when Torunn and Francis started dating and notes that this was when James truly began to throw himself in the role.
At the end of the day James is a good person who many look up to. His selflessness is what makes him the perfect person to take on his father's mantle of Captain America. Recently James finds himself struggling to learn more about himself. He wants to know what he can do outside of super heroics. For that reason he dropped the stars and stripes and left to figure out who he was. After his stint in Colombia it seems James has chosen to become a family man.
Relationships
Family

Steve and Natalia Rogers: As a young child James had a tremendous relationship with his parents. He loved them dearly, and they loved him just as much. Possibly because of the Super Solider Serum, James does remember a lot of his time with his parents, even moments when he was barely one. All the way up to his last moments with them. He doesn't talk about them much, but he has expressed his love for them through a portrait he created when he was younger. Like the other heroes James wishes he could talk to them, just one last time. [32]

Tony Stark: Though never officially adopting any of the children Tony has been a father to most of them for longer than there own parents. For James specifically Tony has always been in his corner. They have many conversations and Tony has said that it was huge for him that James developed physically and mentally. As he always knew he would be important in the reconstruction of the world.

Carmen Maria Jiménez: Officially adopting the young girl, Carmen is James' adoptive daughter. After everything that happened in Colombia the duo is attempting to take things slow as James integrates her into America. However Carmen is taking to things fast, and partially because of the Serum now in her veins. In just six months she's learned English, and with James' help, she is slowly becoming a cheerful girl once again. With taking care of Carmen his immediate priority, James has no desire to force himself to be Captain America yet.
Friends

Azari Munroe: Is one of James closest friends on the Heroes of Tomorrow. Though Azari is only one year younger than James, he is profoundly wise. Couple that with the fact that he loves a good laugh and is serious when it's time to work, he's a great confidant for James. They consider each other brothers in everything but blood.

Henry Pym Jr: the youngest Avenger, Pym is considered like a younger brother to James. He takes it upon himself to understand his limits and keep it truthful with the bubbly hero, and that was how he would want things to be with him. Unlike the other's James notices that Pym can be switched off in certain moments and his bubbly attitude will disappear making way for a darker side that he likes to watch out for. Pym's amazing intelligence, and great attitude makes James believe that he will be one of the greatest hero's, if he can get ahold of his darker nature.

Francis Barton: Francis is at times seen more like a rival to James than a friend solely because of the affection they both hold for Torunn. James while younger could at time let that dislike for his teammate through, and Francis wasn't shy about giving it back. Over time however they've grown a deep respect for one another. And since James has pushed more into his shell squabbles are a thing of the distant past. To James they are still family, and if he had to, he'd die for the purple archer. Whatever it took.

Torunn Thorsdottir: Torunn was James' first best friend and his first crush. It was obvious from the beginning that James liked Torunn and most likely vice versa, until the addition of Francis. The two heroes were thick as thieves and while the relationship is still great, there has been a different tenseness to it ever since she dated Francis. For James and Torunn their friendship will always be strong. But the question of their love life, will always loom heavy over the two heroes.

Eli Bradley: Eli Bradley is one of James good friends. A hard working scavenger, James enjoys sparring with the man even though he has no powers. He also enjoys hearing his opinions, and getting new perspective on certain issues.

Daisy Johnson: Daisy to James has become something more than a friend. The two haven't got far enough to put labels on things, but the attraction is certainly there. They enjoy each other's presence for many reasons. They talk strategy, and she understands the importance of his job as Captain America. She's also one of the only people who have been shown to be able to break him out of his shell [33] something not even Torunn has been shown doing. The two dated for a brief time before splitting amicably as Daisy went down the path of S.H.I.E.L.D. and James stayed with the Avengers.
Powers and Abilities
Powers
Super-Soldier Serum + Red Room Enhancement: Due to being the son of Captain America and Black Widow, James naturally gained an Enhanced Physiology by inheriting the Super-Soldier Serum (SSS), and Red Room Enhancements from his Father and Mother respectively. It's stated that Steve Rogers was the peak of human condition, and that his enhanced condition is "second to none." James Rogers isn't fully grown yet so he hasn't fully matured and reached the peak of his powers, but it's assumed by the likes of Tony Stark and Bruce Banner he will surpass his father and mother physically when he reaches his prime.
- Artificially Enhanced Physiology: At first it was believed that Rogers' enhanced physiology had no superhuman abilities, but that has now clearly been shown to be a myth. Rogers' has shown feats beyond that of a normal human, and he is now just learning that his father had routinely pushed the limits of humanity as well. It's believed that James will surpass his father in strength and speed, his father who has been shown pushing around multiple tons of weight and not push his upper limits.[34] For now he is still considered the peak of human development and conditioning, However he is surpassing that title everyday. James Rogers is classified as an enhanced human. He possesses powers superior to any Olympic-level athlete that has ever competed. Also the serums physiologies is definite meaning that if Rogers chose to live an unhealthy lifestyle, none of his powers weaken, and the Red Room enhancements and SSS would keep him in top form.
- Superhuman Strength: Originally Rogers physical strength was thought to have been enhanced to the very peak of human potential, making him consistently able to sustain lifts 800 lbs (363 kg) and bench pressing 1,100 pounds (500kg) as a warm-up. However it's been shown recently that he is stronger than that, as he fought Bulldozer of the Wrecking Crew.[35] This fight clearly showed his superior strength, and ability to sustain lifts of at the very least 1-2 tons. He has shown enough strength to knock Bulldozer to the ground who is capable of lifting over 10 tons. There's no doubt he will get stronger as he continues to age.
- Peak Human Speed: Rogers can move at speeds equal to that of the absolute finest human athlete, being capable of running at a sustained 30 mph (48 kph); According to Tony Stark he was able to complete a 40-yard dash in 3.31 seconds, which was good enough to beat his father (3.82) who could run a mile "in just over a minute." If James pushes he can run at nearly 50 mph (80kph) for a short time.
- Peak Human Durability: Rogers' durability is amplified to the highest human potential making him very durable. This has allowed him to survive many forms of extensive punishment that would injure an ordinary human. James is a tank and took a severe punishment including large scar wounds, blood loss, electrical shocks, a bullet wound, and cracked ribs, and despite being in this condition he managed to defeat the Hood who was in tip top form.[36]
- Peak Human Agility: Rogers' agility is amplified to the highest human potential.
- Peak Human Reflexes: Rogers' reflexes are amplified to the highest human potential, and he is said to have a reaction time ten times faster than a normal person. He has been shown to dodge gunfire from multiple Ultron bots simultaneously.
- Peak Human Stamina: Rogers' body automatically eliminates the excessive build-up of fatigue producing chemicals in his muscles; giving him exceptional endurance. He endured 26 straight hours of fighting city to city after destroying the citadel, and was fine afterwards.
- Peak Human Healing Recovery: Rogers' healing speed and efficiency is enhanced to it's peak ability, meaning he heals faster than the average person. The white blood cells and serums in his body are efficient enough to fight off most microbe, foreign body, and other pathogens from his body, giving him a high immunity to all infections and diseases. He is also more resistant to knockout and hypnotic suggestion, though is not immune.
- Peak Human Mental Processing: Rogers' mental performance is greatly enhanced allowing it to operate in the most advanced and rapid manner possible. His mind also processes information quickly, giving him an accelerated learning aptitude; He possess an eidetic/photographic memory and perfect recall, meaning he never forgets what he sees and experiences, paired with the ability to speed read, and thereby intuitively understand what's likely going to happen and how best to deal with it.
- Peak Human Senses: Rogers' senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch are enhanced to the highest limits of human potential.
- Advanced Longevity: The SSS halts Rogers' aging due to perfect cells. The Red Room serum also does the same. Black Widow was over 60 years old and hadn't seemed to age a day over 25 for years. The two combined serums leads Tony Stark to believe James will be around for a while.

Abilities
Master Tactician and Strategist: The decimation of the the superpowered people forced Rogers' to adapt fast. A lot of his training in the Artic Circle was based on strategies and tactics on and off the battlefield. He is able to formulate battle strategies and his brilliant tactical sense allow him to alter any strategy to fit the changing need of the situation. His tactical sense is so great that even at 14 Iron Man gave him the freedom to call missions as he sees fit. And as of right now he allows James to call the shots on missions, even if it means changing Tony's own plans.
Master Martial Artist: Rogers is a master of hand-to-hand combat, being extremely skilled in numerous martial arts through his training under Tony Stark and the android Vision. During his training in the Artic Circle, Stark would put Rogers through many rigorous training scenarios making sure he could fight himself out of any situation. He is proficient in almost every martial art known to man. He is one of the finest martial artists on earth, and is the Avengers best fighter.
Master Shield Fighter: Rogers' is a master at the art of shield fighting. From a young age Tony Stark outfitted him with an energy shield to practice with, and so that he could emulate his father. After taking the shield from the Iron Captain America, James skill with the shield only got better from there. He is able to throw it with near perfect aim, he able to estimate it's hit and rebound down to the millimeter. Rogers can hit multiple targets from the same throw via ricochet, and can even achieve a boomerang-like return effect, allowing him to strike enemies from behind, or retrieve the shield without objects to ricochet from.
Master Acrobat: Rogers' is a natural acrobat and easily mastered the art form of gymnastics, and is a very skilled aerialist. His ability supersedes any Olympic-Level athlete and he often uses this ability in his fighting styles.
Expert Marksman: Rogers is a highly proficient marksman and can throw most projectile weaponry with great aim. He is well-versed in the use of firearms, and at times carry's a Scavenger issued Energy Pistol.
Expert Swordsman: Part of his training in the Arctic Circle was with swords and staffs. Rogers' has proven to be an exceptional fighter using both of those items, though he prefers to use his shield, and anything else is really a last resort
Weapons Proficiency: James is proficient in the use of many weapons. Swords, daggers, throwing knifes, staffs, sticks, tonfa, axes, maces, and of course firearms. At the end of the day he prefers to use his shields over any.
Expert Hacker: Rogers' can hack into most computer systems in the world as it is standard Avengers training, because of Ultron's dominance in this reality after defeating him, the Avengers needed to be able to reset any cities he took over. This required extensive hacking training.
Multilingual: Rogers' is fluent in English, Spanish, French, German, and Russian. He knows some Italian, and Japanese but other than that it's not clear if he's fluent in any other language.
Master Spy: Rogers' is a dangerous secret agent trained in espionage, stealth, disguise, infiltration, and demolitions. He is capable of killing in cold blood if the need arises.
Strength level
Rogers' physical strength level is enhanced to Superhuman levels making him able to life at least 1-2 tons.
Weaknesses
None known.
Paraphernalia
Equipment: Captain America's Uniform: As Captain America, James used to wear a simple looking black jacket with a red star that has a few functions. The jacket itself is flame resistant, and is nearly bulletproof, it's industrial strength durability is very great as it was created by Tony Stark. This uniform stopped being used shortly after the defeat of Ultron.

After defeating Ultron the Avengers traveled the world giving help to everyone who needed it. As the world's liberators James knew he was quickly becoming a symbol as 'Captain America' And because of that he wanted to dress closer to something people might remember, to ease the minds of anyone who saw him. He got the idea from seeing an old picture of his father during WWII, and got Tony to create him a Uniform that was similar to that in nature. And thus James' current uniform was created.
The uniform is both water and fire retardant, it is made of Kevlar, Nomex, and light weight titanium. The costume also offers a medium level of resistance to electric shocks and force impacts, such as falls from thirty meters in height. The suit cannot be pierced by normal conventional sharp-edged materials like sharpened wood, glass, iron, copper, or aluminum. The suit however gives little resistance to high temperatures.

After a battle in Costa Rica in particularly hot weather James realized that he needed an upgrade from his militaristic outfit that really didn't offer him much breathability. Because of this he handed the reigns to Pym and Riri and allowed them to design him a new uniform, This newer Uniform was made with the idea of a new era in mind, in the hopes that the people would be reminded of better days to look forward and put the war behind them. The suit utilizes chainmail like Captain America's original costume. It's also James' first uniform with an actual helmet, and this uniform was made sure to be much better when it came to high temperatures over the last one. This uniform was a point of discussion between Francis, James, Emma, and Riri. Francis and James weren't sure about if the suit was right for him. Francis because he thought it was too retro, and James because he believed he looked too much like his father before he died and it was offputting. However Emma insisted the suit looked just fine, and Riri assured Francis that the suit was as Modern as it could be. [38]

Despite recently getting a new suit, James briefly switched suits ditching the old one after he gave Danielle Cage the title of Captain America. This suit was not made by any of the Avengers rather James had it commissioned by S.H.I.E.L.D. after staying a month in Cartagena realizing he was going to need it after getting onto the trail of a drug cartel. This suit main functions are to get the job done and make sure no one knows he's Captain America. Like his last suit it does it's job against electric shocks, falls, knives, bullets, and high temperatures, the only difference is the blue and white S.H.I.E.L.D. color scheme. The suit is almost identical to Nick Fury's however James' has red on the undersides. The red undertones of the suit wouldn't hint anyone unless they knew the face they were looking at. This was James' current last suit as at the moment he isn't taking any missions of any kind.[39][40]
Utility Belt: Rogers wears a utility belt containing mission-specific equipment such as a first aid kit, military cable, smoke grenades, lock picks, grenades, and several other materials.
Avengers Identicard
Transportation: Quinjet
Weapons: Energy Shield: James' energy shield was actually the first shield he ever had, it was created by Tony to be more versatile than the regular vibranium shield, but it sacrificed some of the durability. This shield uses zero-point energy. The energy shield is able to be thrown and could ricochet off surfaces to hit targets, and would dissipate shortly after, upon which a new shield would be generated. James has been shown to be able to make the shield larger to support bigger structures, despite not being as strong as Vibranium it's as close as you can get while using energy. The shield also doesn't have to display the normal red, white, and blue scheme. Rather it can be anything James programs it to be.

Captain's America Shield: James used to wield his Father's shield into battles. However when James decided he was no longer going to be Captain America he gave it to Danielle Cage. Dani had proven herself in James mind and he let her keep it and proclaimed her to be the new Captain America. Currently she is the owner of the illustrious shield.[41] |
Notes
- James was Born on February 10 in 1994. He was 16 as of A New Legacy #1.
- Even with the new additions, James seems to be the second oldest out of all the Avengers.
- It's widely known that at some point James had a crush on Torunn. Whether he still harbors romantic feelings for her, or has given up on them ever getting together is unknown.
- A lot of characters have stated that James is very good looking. From Torunn, Daisy, Jane, Megan, Jessica, Ray, Valentina, Mayday, and Lyra. It seems to be a running on theme for the hero who supposedly doesn't care for romance. [42][43][44][45][46][47]
- When Lyra came back in time to find the perfect mate, she supposedly chose James because he was the perfect hero, and renowned for his heroics even in her time where Men are not held in a high regard.
- James is supposedly the Greatest Hero of the 21 Century, according to Lyra and Boudicca.
- James has now dated Daisy Johnson and Valentina Garcia. Both of these relationships were fairly short-lived, though his relationship with Valentina was slightly longer lasting 4 months.
- Supposedly James and Megan have a mutual attraction for one another that is known by Megan and Olivier. It's assumed Megan knows this because she had been in his mind before.[48][49]
- One of James favorite artists is Otis Redding, this is because he can remember hearing his Father play the old music around the house when he was younger.
- James told Dani that while he's gone she will be perfect for the title of Captain America. This makes it seem like this is not the last time James will wear the suit.
- James chose to live in Colombia because of what the Jiménez family did for his mother nearly 20 years ago and because of the brewing drug ring in Cartagena.
