History
Origins
James Howlett seemingly had a similar history as his Earth-616 counterpart. Born of an affair, James was a mutant with retractable bone claws and an extraordinary healing factor. Leaving home, he had many adventures and met many individuals that would become major players in his future, such as Captain America and Mystique. Following World War II, James settled down and started a family in Japan. Unfortunately, his family was tragically murdered. Seeking revenge, he sought a mysterious swordsmith, who crafted the Muramasa Blade using a piece of Howlett's soul.
Returning to his country of origin, James was kidnapped by the U.S. Government. His skeleton was bonded to Adamantium. He was also subjected to brainwashing, becoming the organization's assassin Weapon X. He was able to break free and escape the facility, but the conditioning cost him most of his memories as well as hampering his healing factor. Losing his identity, he took name Logan, which was the surname of his biological father.
As the Wolverine
Logan wandered Canada for years, until he was attacked by the Brotherhood of Mutants. Rescued by Cyclops and Storm, he decided to join them as the costumed anti-hero Wolverine. For espionage missions, he took the pseudonym Patch. He served as a mentor to a number of younger members, including Jubilee.
Wolverine later learned that the organization tried to recreate Weapon X. One such attempt was giving his genes to Wade Wilson, who followed a similar path as Logan in becoming the masked Deadpool. Their twenty-third attempted, fittingly designated X-23, was the result of using his DNA to create a daughter. She was sent after Logan, but he was able to break her conditioning. While she initially ran from him, the two later reconnected and she accepted him as her father.
Logan would finally regain his memories with the help of Scarlet Witch. Using her reality-warping powers, she was able to give him what he truly desired. Wolverine wanted nothing more than to remember his past.
Battleisland
Wolverine was among those teleported to Reality: MS-0815 through a rift. He was granted sanctuary in the Wastelands by Magneto and joined the reformed Brotherhood of Mutants. Erik's daughter suspected that he was replaced by an impostor. Using his superhuman senses, Logan was able to identify "Magneto" as actually being Xorn.
Logan and a number of the Brotherhood followed Polaris to leave the Wastlands and join War Machine's Avengers Alliance for help. Together, they rescued Magneto from God Emperor Doom's prison. Wolverine then joined Cyclops as he reinstated the X-Men to retake the Wastelands. During this time, Logan encountered an adult Laura, who succeeded him as Wolverine, and a doppelgänger called X-24.
Possible Future
As the years went by, his healing factor weakened to the point where he could no longer counteract the Adamantium and developed Adamantium Poisoning. Reuniting with Laura, they started being hunted by the organization once more. The pair discovered the hunter to be X-24, who turned out to be a clone of Logan the scientists had developed. Logan sacrificed himself to save Laura, who managed to kill the clone with the Muramasa Blade. She then held his hand as he succumbed to his wounds.
