The Avengers ran a mission in the Savage Lands looking for Wolverine. Instead of finding Wolverine, they found Omega Red. Knowing that some X-Men are still alive it's possible that Logan is as well, but for now his whereabouts are unknown.
As a result of Wolverine's constant cellular regeneration and the additional weight and tensile strength of his skeleton, he has some degree of superhuman strength, enabling him to press somewhere in excess of 800 lbs, or more.
