James Falsworth (Earth-101)

During World War 2, a British soldier named Montgomery Falsworth adopted a costume fashioned after the British flag and named himself Union Jack, aligning himself with the Howling Commandos to fight against Hydra. After he died years later, his son, Brian, took up the mantle and decided to become a vigilante.

Brian's son, James, would eventually uncover the truth about his actions as Union Jack, including his death at the hands of Madame Viper. Deciding to carry on his family tradition, James adopted the Union Jack uniform and began using it to destabilize Hydra bases. He would eventually come face to face with Madame Viper, and discovered the horrors his father committed in an attempt to defeat her.

James became disillusioned with what the Union Jack mantle stood for, and considered giving it up. However, not long after that he would be recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. to join the British faction's team Excalibur. He accepted, seeing it as a way to redeem his family name, and has continued on as a hero.
