Backstory

Those who hurt other people for their own amusement are the real monsters.
Demon

Jack Murdock Lee Zhejiang was born in Hong Kong, China, two minutes before his younger twin brother Russell Zhejiang to a Chinese mother and a Chinese-American father. During the time, his mother had passed away from childbirth, leaving his father to take care of him and his brother. But the man was confronted by Triad group, the Red Dragons and he was killed as retaliation for cutting ties with them after wanting to live normal life. One of the men discovered Jack and Russell but before they could think of a plan, the police had already been called and the men ended up taking Jack and leaving Russell.

Since that day, Jack ended up being raised by the men of the Red Dragons, training him in martial arts, mastering weapons -- mainly swords. By the time he turned 13 years old, his mutant powers surfaced when he was training and it brought leader of the Red Dragons, Guowei Wu to attention. Jack had transformed into a demon with long blazing red hair and golden slit eyes with the abilities to manipulate fire and teleport, followed by superhuman strength/speed, stamina and more. This gave the crime group the opportunity to rule Hong Kong and they put Jack into intense training before making him the right-hand man of Wu and he would hise his abilities to overpower rival crime groups such as the Italian mafia and the Japanese yakuza. However, when Jack discovered that Wu had ordered his men to kill his father, he ended up betraying the Red Dragons and leaves Hong Kong, ending up in New York where he ends up meeting Charles Xavier of the X-Men and the New X-Men.

Jack would eventually join to mentor the New Mutants and unlike the Red Dragons, the New Mutants were trained to protect human and mutant kind rather than bring destruction and pain within others, followed by seeing mutants like himself being harshly mistreated. He remained with the New Mutants as they would battle other superpowered villains as well as anti-mutant organizations such as the Purifiers who want to eliminate the entire mutant race. But with Jack's demon powers, most of the enemies feared him as he vowed to protect than hurt.
