Backstory
Early Life
Logan's life began in Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada. The mutant who would come to be known as "Logan" was born as Jack-Wolffe Sargeant Howlett to Leiza Howlett (neé Hudson) who was married to John Howlett II who is the heir to the Howlett family fortune. As a boy, Jack was notably frail and was prone to allergies and diseases where he almost died from pneumonia but survived due to his strong healing factor and became healthy and strong as the years went by. While he was loved unconditionally by his mother, Jack was neglected by John who originally demanded Leiza to get an abortion which she refused and he would cruelly berate the young boy which damaged his self-esteem.
Not only that, Jack had discovered John had been cheating on his mother with a woman named Victoria Creed and when Leiza discovered about this, she found solace within the Howlett's groundskeeper and an old flame, Thomas Logan who is Jack's biological father. She came with the decision in leaving John for Thomas and taking Jack with her after being confronted by John about her affair in which she later retaliated, but in a jealous rage, John shoots Leiza in the head in cold blood. Jack had entered the room to see what the commotion was and his mutation fully manifested: bone claws extended from the backs of his hands and he attacked and killed John with uncharacteristic ferocity. Realizing what he had done and looking the members of the Howlett estate who were horrified over the scene, Jack ends up fleeing the mansion after the police had been called and he was eventually found by Thomas who saw his mutation and takes him out of Alberta before the police started to search for him.
The two ended up in the Yukon Territories, settling in the outskirts of Whitehorse to avoid being sought by the police. Thomas renamed himself as "Thaddaeus McGraw" and he renamed Jack as "Logan" to keep his identity hidden. During their refuge in Whitehorse, Logan began to work in the mines with Thomas and became one of the most hard workers at a young age which brought respect from the fellow miners, giving him the nickname "Wolverine" which made Thomas proud to be his father and he chose to help train him to have tough skin when facing hard times.

Jack-Wolffe "Logan" Howlett
Throughout his life, Logan began training with Thomas through hunting and combat while continuing to work in the mines and adapt in the tough environment. He grew close to Thomas as the latter became close to him and then one day, Logan discovers that his father was a mutant just like him -- having the same retractable bone claws in the backs of his hands. When he asked Thomas, the man told him that he had been a mutant since he was a child and hid his powers from his mother because he didn't want her to hate him for being a mutant. Since the man's origin reveal, Logan's own abilities began to fully develop: he grew to be unusually healthy and ferocious, displaying enhanced agility and strength, possessing animal-like heightened senses that rivaled any animal's, gaining immunity towards toxins, poisons, and diseases, and his healing factor became extremely strong.
Following the development of his powers, Logan finally settles in the Yukon Territories and one day, he meets a beautiful Irish woman named Rose O'Hara who also lived in the woods outside of Whitehorse with her grandparents after she was molested by her mother's boyfriend when she was a child. At the time, Logan was in his 20s and so was Rose and he befriended her through the similarities of their pasts. He eventually gained romantic feelings for Rose but his feelings never came around after she tells him that she was engaged to a man named Brendan "Smitty" Smith who was a miner at Whitehorse. He was hurt by her announcement, but he eventually accepted it and continued his committed friendship with her. However, Rose was attacked by her mother's boyfriend, who tried to bring her back home. Logan fought the man off and defeated him before he could do any harm to her and just when he was about to kill him, Rose tried to stop him but he accidentally killed her, much to his horror. Because of this, Logan ends up leaving Yukon and his father behind who began to search for him along with Smitty.
Weapon X Project
Throughout his years, Logan began travelling all over the world, becoming skilled in combat and getting involved in many endeavors such as being a mercenary and an assassin. At the time, he was staying in Germany and he was encountered by a group of men who were saying that they were looking for a man who can volunteer for the "Super-Soldier" project. Logan was a bit skeptical at first but he insisted. Little did he know is that the men led him to a laboratory where he was drugged and he ends up getting examined while floating in a containment tank.
His skeleton began to get laced by an indestructible metal called Adamantium, making it completely unbreakable. The Weapon X scientists began to start placing him under a hypnosis program to turn him from a mutant to a mindless killing machine. However, Logan was able to break free from the mind control spell and slaughter the men before making his escape. The director of Weapon X issued a manhunt in hopes of recapturing Logan.

Logan as Wolverine
Joining the X-Men
After his escape from the Weapon X, Logan spent his years in hiding in the forest located outside of New York City until he was eventually found by Hank McCoy aka the Beast as well as other members of the X-Men. Logan would evade them many times until he was finally talked into joining the X-Men. At first, Logan kept his distance from the the team, but it wasn't until he meets Jean Grey who had the heart to approach him and persuade him to open his heart to the other mutants after reading his mind thanks to her ability of telepathy. Realizing that she wasn't a threat, Logan took her word and he started to open his heart to the rest of the X-Men while developing a friendship with Jean along with Beast and their leader, Charles Xavier. From that day, Logan was dubbed the strongest out of all of the X-Men, his animal-like abilities making him stand out other than the Beast.
Love and War
Logan began to develop feelings for Jean because of her comfort to him when he was reeling in from the traumatic events in the Weapon X project. On nice days when the X-Men and the other mutants were enjoying themselves, Logan would confide in her whenever he had nightmares that would trigger his pasts. However, Jean had her heart set towards Scott Summers aka Cyclops for their relationship was already close when they were first recruited by Xavier. A deep rivalry ignited between him and Cyclops and he didn't see him as fit to take Jean's heart which escalated to the point where they ended up getting physical with one another in one mission and it forced the rest of the X-Men to intervene as well as Jean who confronts Logan for his behavior towards Scott and he ends up confessing his love for her, much to the other mutants and Scott's shock.
Although, Jean was flattered with Logan's feelings, she ended up rejecting him due to her strong long for Cyclops and that he had helped her throughout her life as a mutant and she only saw Logan as a friend. The clawed mutant was left heartbroken over the rejection and he hadn't been hurt since the day his late friend and former love interest, Rose O'Hara had told him she was marrying Smitty. Logan refused to look at Jean and he began to drown himself in alcohol which became a very bad addiction and it made Logan very irritable. He would come in in a drunken stupor and would violently lash out at the rest of the X-Men, and even berating Cyclops for "stealing" Jean from him. One time, Anne-Marie Carlyle aka Rogue (who had developed unrequited feelings for the rugged mutant) tried to console Logan in sexual advances but Logan cruelly rejected her. As Rogue tried to calm him down, he drunkenly attacked her, leaving her seriously wounded before her future love interest, Gambit intervened. Feeling the flashback of what he had done to Rose, Logan leaves the X-Men, without looking back.
Father & Son Reunion
Logan spend the rest of his years in exile after his fallout with the X-Men, the memories from the rejection from the past and recent crippling him into his worst. He started getting into fights with other people not only before they discover that he is a mutant because of his bladed claws. His addiction had already gotten him hitting rock bottom and he had nowhere and no one else to turn to. But in one night, Logan was at a bar in Buffalo, trying to get himself drunk and gets himself into a fight with one of the men. Just as Logan was ready to start a fight with him, a man ended up intervening and the aggressor was let go, leaving Logan in a rage, summoning his claws. He began to fight the man until he notices the bone claws emerging from the backs of his hands -- the man he was fighting was his own father, Thomas Logan. Shocked, Logan buried himself in the man's arms as Thomas felt so relieved to find Logan in one piece after leaving years prior.

Logan after the X-Men
Logan finally returns to Canada, only to discover that Thomas had moved from Yukon to British Columbia where he stayed in Lion's Bay outside of Vancouver. Thomas cleaned Logan up and helped him heal himself from having a bad hangover before having a heart-to-heart with him, questioning him what had happened after he had left Whitehorse. Logan, now sober, explained everything that happened throughout his life such including being a test subject to the Weapons X project which Thomas had found out years before, followed by his time in being part of the X-Men and he almost killed one of his members with his claws because of the anger over his heartbreak from Jean. In spite being a very stern man, Thomas had showed compassion towards Logan as he did when he was younger and comforted him the best he can. During their talk, Thomas revealed to Logan that he didn't have a good past either -- suffering the same abuse as he did but after his own mutant abilities triggered and he had become an angry before he met his mother, Leiza who would later change him from the inside and out, leading to him falling in love with her and getting her pregnant with Logan and after he heard about the incident where John killed Leiza out of jealous rage for their affair, Thomas wanted to kill the man but instead he chose to raise Logan instead. Logan didn't realize that Leiza really changed Thomas when he was at his worst and she was the reason why Thomas loved him so much and how distraught he became when he left after accidentally killing Rose. Logan eventually apologizing for upsetting Thomas as he finally broke down emotionally after suffering so much, leaving the older mutant to embrace him as their relationship rekindled.
Wolverine meets Spider-Man
Logan was staying in New York to pay a visit to Professor Xavier after years of distancing himself from the X-Men and being talked into seeing them by Thomas. One night, he was heading out to spend his time at the bar until he ended up detecting a strong scent near him. He looked up to see what was going on and there he saw, the famous webslinger Spider-Man fighting against one of his villains, Shocker. Summoning his blade claws, Logan gets into the scuffle when the webslinger found himself beaten by the superpowered villain. Eventually, Shocker was defeated and Logan helps the webslinger up. However, he doesn't get the appreciation he hoped to get. Instead, he was reprimanded by Spider-Man, being called a "drunk hobo" which triggered Logan before Spider-Man swung away, giving him the middle finger.
Disgruntled over the the chastising, Logan drunk himself until he got incredibly intoxicated before Beast found him and brought him to the X-Mansion. While he spend his days, reconnecting with the X-Men and making up with both Jean, Cyclops, and Rogue, Logan continued in heading to New York City and he would encounter Spider-Man several times. Since the chastising by the webslinger, Logan developed a dislike towards him while the webslinger would develop his own dislike towards the mutant. However, when Spider-Man ends up getting involved with the Sinister Six formed by Doctor Octopus, who wants to expose Norman Osborn for his corrupt nature as the Mayor of New York City, he ends up getting badly beaten by the villains and Logan showed up to take on Octopus. Spider-Man was rescued by Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. and was placed under serious care after realizing he was badly injured. Logan tagged along to see if the webslinger was alright, and Fury told him that he was in critical condition. The S.H.I.E.L.D. director began to explain everything about Spider-Man and his past life and it put Logan in another direction. When he got the chance to visit Spider-Man, now in his true identity, Peter Parker, Logan began to have a heart-to-heart with him and he explained to him about his own past and soon their little beef towards one another slowly began to wane.
Although, Peter continued his life as Spider-Man, Logan was assigned keep the webslinger safe since he is still young and the clawed mutant accepted in spite of Peter's protests. Soon after the defeat of Doctor Octopus and the death of the webslinger's Aunt May, Logan takes Peter to Lion's Bay, offering him to stay with him after he decided to take a break from being Spider-Man while Logan starts working as a lumberjack and a construction worker, the two began form a friendship between one another until they eventually fell in love with one another.
