History
Jason has often felt caught in between. He's too poor to fit in with the rich kids but his last name causes him to be rejected by the poor kids. Therefore, Jason always finds himself the outsider. However, as an outsider, Jason developed a certain wisdom about socializing that, as he becomes an adult, has helped him to be better at socializing in any group regardless of how much or little he has in common with the people in that group.
While accompanying Julie as she did an assignment for the school newspaper, Jason was hit by a strange energy that gave him power. When Omniteam formed, he was one of the most eager to join because it was the first time he felt like part of a group instead of an outsider.
Powers and Abilities
Powers
He has power over an energy that is not understood very well. It turns out that his energy is crucial to keeping one universe from spilling into another and is crucial for opening portals between universes. Jason's body naturally generates a small amount of this energy, just enough to allow Jason and sometimes a few others to slip into the boundary between universes. Specifically, he enters a space that they named The Half Universe. While within the half universe, he and whoever is with him can see and hear what is happening on Earth 49996 and they can be seen and heard by others on Earth 49996. He is also still affected by gravity. But no one knew that Jason was traveling through an alternate universe because as far as anyone, including Jason, could tell Jason had the simple power to walk through solid objects. It took a long time before anyone figured out that Jason wasn't actually walking through the solid object but was traveling through the Half Universe which corresponds point for point with the universe of Earth 49996.
Jason has great control over this energy so that he can cause part of his body to be solid while part of his body is phased. While phased, Jason doesn't need to breathe. But it was discovered that the energy Jason produced has an explosive interaction to extreme heat.

Strength level
He has the strength of an 18 year old who engages in regular exercise
Weaknesses
He has struggled the most to master his power and has frequently had trouble falling through the floor. He started wearing fake wings because, even though he does not have air when he's in phase, his wings allow him to glide somehow (The Half Universe has a plasma that Jason's wings glide through). But Jason has been afraid to sleep because of how often he has woken up to find himself having to travel a few miles back to the Earth's surface. After a while, Robert Edge developed a sheet Jason could use while he slept and the sheet would keep him from falling. This sheet is part solid and part phased at the same time.
He is also cautious about extreme heat because he's seen how his power can cause explosions when in contact with extreme heat and he thinks he might explode if exposed to extreme heat.
Paraphernalia
Equipment: He has wings that can fold up into a box that he wears. These wings do not mimic flight like a bird but they do allow Jason to glide as if he was using a hangglider.
