History

Quote1 My father's not a flippin' monster, alright? Not enough people just didn't see the good in him. He was complicated... He's human too, ya' know? Ultron may have gotten the world in a bad place, but my father never expected things to go off the rails, so give him a break. He's gone already... Quote2
-- Yellowjacket

Early Years

Henry "Hal" Pym, Jr. is the son of renowned yet complicated married superhero couple: the mentally-unstable yet passionate hero Hank Pym who is known by many aliases, and Janet van Dyne, the Wasp. Hal was born and raised during the first years of the event known as the "Ultron Revolution," specifically the early 2010s, when he had no other choice but to live in an underground city in New York, developed by the Stark family. Before his parents had unfortunately fallen fighting for Earth's freedom against Ultron and his deadly forces across the planet, he was taken to safety by his mother, father, Iron Man and other surviving heroes alongside with Azari T'Challa, Torunn and James Rogers to keep them all safe from the hands of Ultron as they're mostly offsprings of super-powered individuals.

Hal was the youngest among the group, and was obviously adored the most by his teachers and trainers, despite some of them still bearing a seed of hatred towards his father, since he created Ultron in the first place, which also got her mother and his father himself killed later on. In his childhood, Hal along with his other adoptive siblings only knew of the Avengers and other superheroes through Tony's tales of their former glory days, especially the final days of the event, where his father's sacrifice and contribution was revealed to be the very last reason Tony was able to successfully defeat the megalomaniacal machine, once and for all, after ten years of his rule of terror on Earth.

Yellowjacket

Finally growing up out in the open of New York after the Ultron Revolution, Hal and his several companions as slightly grown up yet still developing teenagers voluntarily later joined the Resistance along with their newfound ally and friend Francis Barton and were trained by the previous and retired heroes so that then one day, they'll be prepared to help them against the tyrannical empire of Edward Stark and take back humanity's freedom once again. During the last days of the final war against the Empire, he was finally ready and was able took on the mantle of his father, becoming the all-new Yellowjacket of the newest team known as the Next Avengers.

Trivia

  • Unfortunate for Hal, he also inherited a serious mental disorder of his father's: bipolar disorder, causing Hal to suffer from the disorder for the first time in his adolescence. One notable recurring instance was the fact that Hal often switches his heroic alias from Yellowjacket to the Wasp, and vice versa. As a result, his teammates and friends began to commonly refer Hal simply as "Pym" whenever they're on a mission, unless Hal insists they called him by a certain ops moniker.
