History

Hank McCoy spent most of his life trying to hide his mutation, turning to every end of the world from science to sorcery. However, after training under Stephen Strange, he achieved control over the Beast within.
When Apocalypse rose to power, Hank was inspired by his message to the mutants of the world. Overpowering Doctor Strange, he destroyed his hands once more and handed him over to the human death camps to get in Apocalypse's good graces.
Hank has since partnered with Mister Sinister to advance Apocalypse's Armada into the future.
Eventually, the reality hopping team of superheroes, the Outsiders, would come to Earth-9999. During a battle between the Outsiders and the Armada on Krakoa, Beast finds himself locked in a sorcery duel with an alternate version of Colossus, who overpowers him and impales him with the Soulsword, essentially banishing his soul to Limbo.

- In the animated film Age of the Outsiders, Beast is voiced by Tom Cavanagh, who had never previously voiced the character before.
