Early Years[]

Henry Jonathan "Hank" Pym (born June, 1972) was raised in East Nowhere, Nebraska by both his parents. From a young age Hank was proved to be highly intelligent. At the age of three he was tested and determined to have a higher intelligence that both his parents combined. An inquisitive young boy Henry tired to create anything he could imagine, inventing things such as a typewriter, he built at the age of five, that could allow one to type in fourteen different colors. Pym's ideas for abstract and outside the box thinking were further encouraged by his grandmother Angela, a science fiction writer whose tales of science fiction were a great source of inspiration for Henry. Which only further exasperated his parents, who tried to steer Hank towards the field's of medicine and engineering and stressed hard concepts and practicality. This stance generally putting Hank's parents and his grandmother at odds, leaving the boy straddling between them.

When Henry was seven years old his grandmother came down with a terminal illness. Greatly saddened by this, and determined to save her, Hank attempted to build a device that could cure her. Only for Angela to stop her grandson in his tracks, because while greatly flattered by his actions he had accepted that is was her time to die. She then imparted one last bit of advice to her grandson before passing, and told him to never stop reaching for the clouds. This in turn caused Hank to smash the device he had been working on into pieces. Then after his grandmother's funeral the young scientist and genius fell into a sort of stagnation. The inventions he created after his grandmother's passing being completely dull and devoid of any of the explosive creativity he had shown during his formative years. This trend continued even as Pym entered college. Even his professors and school administrators greatly discouraged Hank from using his own imagination and building things for fun. Being told by using that method of thinking he would never create anything that would truly help and benefit the world. These attitudes sent Hank further into his shell. Making him feel even more isolated than he already was. Since due to his intelligence Hank excelled quicker than any of his classmates and friends, having earned his doctorate while they were still undergraduates. Earning him their jealousy and ire. Still despite all this no one could ever quash Hank's dream of becoming a scientist.

While his final years of college Hank Pym's life too an unexpected turn. One day he was dragged to a protest being held on campus by his friends, and while there he ran into a young Hungarian female immigrant and student named Maria Trovaya. The daughter of Hungarian geneticist and entomologist named Janos Trovoya. Who was a political dissident within Hungary that was executed. But not before making sure Maria got to the states. Finding himself instantly drawn to Maria Hank approached her, and she in turn reciprocated his approach. The two young people instantly finding themselves liking each other. Hank liking Maria for her passion and morals, while Maria liked Hank for his inquisitive and creative ideas. Encouraging him to pursue them, just like his grandmother Angela did when he was a young boy. This encouragement, which he had not experienced from anyone around him in years, in turn brought Hank Pym out of the dull shell he had placed himself in years ago just after his grandmother's death. His creative juices had begun flowing once more. All thanks to Maria. Who Hank soon found himself in love with. Maria feeling the same way about Hank. Thus the two young people, right after they graduated from college, had a shotgun wedding. Becoming Mr. and Mrs. Pym.

Right after they were married Hank decided to surprise Maria with a honeymoon trip back to her home nation of Hungary. Feeling that enough time had passed that Maria was no longer in danger from the current regime, and that even if she was her status as Hank's wife, him being an American citizen, would be enough to protect Maria and keep the both of them out of any trouble. Hank having no idea just how wrong he was. Since a few days into their honeymoon while on the streets of Budapest Hank and Maria were attacked by operative of the Hungarian government. Believing that Maria followed the same political ideals as her father. Even though she did not. Regardless of this fact the agents assaulted the Pym couple, resulting in Hank getting beaten and Maria shot in the head right in front of him. This tragedy filled Hank with a rage he had never known before, and was the trigger for the first of his numerous mental breakdowns due his highly severe and undiagnosed Bipolar Disorder. Though despite this horrid event some good came out of it. Since Hank discovered, after arriving at the hospital with Maria's body, his wife was five months pregnant. The doctors being able to save the baby, who was born severely premature. Though through some miracle his and Maria's child managed to survive, and thus Hank found himself a father. To a daughter he named Nadia.

New Job & New Love[]

A few years later, after returning to the states with Nadia, Hank found himself recruited to work for a world wild clandestine peace-keeping organization. It was here he met fellow scientist Janet Van Dyne, whom just like Maria did eventually captured Hank's heart. Soon he found himself in love with her, and enters a relationship. Starting a brand-new chapter in his life, but making sure to never forget his past. In particular his true first love.

Discovery of Micro Proportions[]

While working for S.H.I.E.L.D. Hank manages to discover a new time of subatomic particle, capable of reducing the size of objects but allowing them to retain their original mass and weight. He dubs these newly discovered particles Pym Particles after himself. But keeps everything involved with them away from S.H.I.E.L.D. since he has begin to question their methods.

Becoming Ant-Man[]

Hank becomes disgusted at the blatant racism his then girlfriend Janet begins facing from their S.H.I.E.L.D colleagues after it Is revealed she is a Mutant. With this both she and Hank leave the organization and get jobs at Grayburn College. They then get married, where immediately after their child and Hanks' second daughter Hope is born. The couple then goes into have a quiet family life, until Janet manages to convince Hank to use his Pym Particles, which he has finally decided to share with her, for something greater. After this he finds himself as the size-changing hero Ant-Man, with Janet by his side as the hero Wasp.

Falling Out With A Friend[]

But despite their Hank and Janet's new superheroic activities they always made sure to make time for their family. As well as their scientific research. Which leads Hank to invite his old S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague and friend William "Bill" Foster to assist him and his wife in their research pertaining to Pym Particles and the Quantum Realm, or Microverse as some refer to it, which they learned about due to their size changing work. After this occurs Bill collaborates with Hank on a project he conceived known as G.O.L.I.A.T.H. which dealt with inverting the properties of Pym Particles and using them to enlarge objects past their norms size instead of just shrink them. A project that eventually came to fruition, which gave Hank the power to now also grow in size. Leading to people begin to call him Giant-Man. While Bill Foster found himself with the name Goliath, after joining Hank and Janet in the superhero business. But this didn't last long as Hank and Bill had a falling out after the latter shared some details of their research with his Ex-girlfriend and S H.I.E.L.D. scientist Catherine Starr. Which Hank took as a huge betrayal since he didn't want S.H.I.E.L.D. getting their hands on any of his research or technology.
