History
HYDRA is a ruthless terrorist organization; led by the merciless Red Skull who has aspirations of world domination. It started back in 1942 when the Schutzstaffel's very own Johann Schmidt underwent a very risky serum infusion; causing him to turn into the evil Red Skull. Hitler gave him HYDRA as a reward for his injuries and he developed weapons for the Nazis.
He later decided that HYDRA would not survive under Hitler's shadow and that meant they were on their own and creating new weapons to combat the allied forces. The Americans later on created Captain America with the help of Dr. Erskine and his research.
Captain America later led a campaign against the ruthless Nazi group and in the end took down the evil Red Skull.
Present
To this very day; HYDRA has been operating secretly due to S.H.I.E.L.D and other superheroes. They started experimentation and have even attacked several bases that superheroes live or work.
X-23
HYDRA managed to acquire a sample of the mutant Wolverine's DNA and attempted to create what they called "The Perfect Weapon". They failed 22 times; however after their 23rd attempt, HYDRA created X-23.
She managed to escape and attacked the Institute and eventually; leading to a confrontation with Wolverine. She eventually escaped because she was avoiding to be captured by S.H.I.E.L.D.
After a couple months; Wolverine was brought up to Canada where he met up with X-23 once again and assisted her against HYDRA. HYDRA's base in Canada was destroyed and X-23 willingly became an X-Men at the Institute.
After several years; X-23 became attached to Prince; the son of Mutant X and he protected her extremely well. He even protected her when HYDRA attempted to launch a full scale assault on the Institute and Prince emitted an extremely powerful sonic screech that sent millions of dollars in hardware into the Hudson River.
