George Stacy (Earth-101)

George Stacy wanted to be a police officer from the moment he discovered what they were. He enrolled in the police academy right out of High School, and quickly became a detective. He married and had a child, however lost his wife to a mugging when their child was still a baby.

He did not know how to properly raise the baby on his own, which is why when she came out to him as trans, he simply said "Okay", and wanted to do whatever he could to support her. During Gwen's senior year of High School, the two of them moved to New York when George was promoted to Captain of a precinct in Queens.

Since getting involved in the crazy crime world of New York, he has ended up working both against and alongside Spider-Man on many occasions. He would later meet Peter Parker on a separate occasion when Gwen introduced him to her friends, and he was quickly able to deduce the two of them were one in the same. Since then, he has begun cutting Spider-Man slack, and even giving him opportunities to fight the good fight, free from police interference. However, he has kept his knowledge secret from Spider-Man, as he wanted him to feel secure in his identity, just as he had once done for his daughter.

George Stacy has worked alongside the Brooklyn officer Jefferson Davis on a few occasions, both of them unaware that Jefferson's son, Miles, is the Black Spider.
