History[]

Early Years[]

Francis Giovanni "Frank" Castle (born October, 1973) was a first generation Italian-American, born to Sicilian immigrant couple Mario and Louisa Castle. Who were older than most parents when Frank was born. As such they had time controlling him, especially when Frank began exhibiting more aggressive and violent behavior as he grew older. Leading him to constantly getting into fights not only on his neighborhood, but at school as well. Yet despite his aggressive tendencies Frank also had a kind heart. Leading him to regularly protect those who couldn't protect themselves. It was this nature that allowed him to gain his first friend in the form of a young man named Steadman Sternberger, who not only helped Frank channel his aggressive tendencies into more productive ways, namely getting him into hockey, but he also helped to set Frank up with his future wife, a local girl named Maria Falconio. Though that was the last favor Sternberger would do for his friend before he died, getting killed in a hit and run after being abandoned by the driver and passengers who didn't even try to help him. Upon learning this Frank tracked down each and every one of them and took their lives, getting his first taste of bloodshed. Though he felt he had done the right thing in avenging his friend. Frank also felt he wanted to learn how to better protect others. It was this train of thought that led him to enlist in the United States Marine Corps right out of highschool, shortly after he married Maria.

Military Service[]

After completing his basic training Frank soon came into contact with a colonel Ray Schoonover, who mentored him and helped him grow. Eventually leading Frank to complete officer training school and obtain the rank of lieutenant. Where after he did he served with honor and distinction, eventually joining the ranks of the Marine Force Recon special forces and obtaining the title of Scout Sniper. It was these various accomplishments that led Frank to eventually be recruited into Cerberus Squad, a black ops unit run by colonel Schoonover and a CIA operative named William Rawlins, whose codename was Agent Orange. Once this happened Frank found himself apart of several black ops missions, which only intensified after the September 11 attacks took place, and the War on Terror truly began. But eventually Frank's time with Cerberus Squad came to an end. After one mission where he violently assaulted Rawlins for disrespecting the deaths of his men. It was this act that made Frank realize he had had enough of taking orders from people like Rawlins. So with that he left the military and returned stateside, where he could focus on raising his children Lisa and Franklin Jr. But knowing he still needed to provide for his family, and still having the passion of wanting to protect others, Frank applied to and then joined the ranks of the NYPD.

Punishing The Guilty[]

After joining the police department Frank became a highly decorated and respected officer, who soon joined the ranks of NYPD S.W.A.T. But his career in law enforcement came an abrupt end when one day, in late 2007, while in Central Park he and his family were caught in the crossfire between rival gangs. A situation that was in fact orchestrated by Schoonover and Rawlins in order to get rid of Frank, since they assumed he leaked the details of the torture and murder of one of their detainee named Ahmad Zubair. When in fact Frank did not. But it mattered not, for the damage was already done. However despite Schoonover and Rawlins efforts to kill Frank he miraculously survived. Though none of his family did. Faced with the deaths of his wife and children Frank soon lost all respect for the justice system. As such he quit his job with the NYPD and then took to the streets to dish out his own form of vigilante justice. By hunting down and killing the ones responsible for his family's death. These actions led the media to give Frank thee nickname Punisher.
