History

Quote1 Earth needs our help, and of course we are going to give it. Because that's what warriors do. They fight for those that can't fight for themselves. I am a warrior, and for as long as I live Earth will be under my protection. Quote2
Torunn Thorsdottir

Torunn Thorsdóttir is the daughter of King Thor and Lady Sif of Asgard. She like the other Avenger's children are considered to have been born during the superhero baby boom when the Avengers had retired. When Ultron struck Thor had been in his Thorsleep, however when he awoke instead of coming to Earth and trying to defeat Ultron, he let them suffer. Partially because of his anger at Tony for creating the robot, and because he wanted Torunn to experience humility on Earth, like he once did.

Early Years

TorunnBabyNAHT

A New Royal Family.

Torunn Thorsdottir, was born in Asgard in the year 1994. Thor and Sif had tied the knot late in 1991 finally bringing their longstanding on and off relationship into a marriage. In 1992 Odin finally passed away leaving Thor to become King of Asgard. Thor and Sif ruled Asgard happily not exactly looking for a child but still worried that all their "efforts" hadn't amounted to anything. When 94' did finally come and Sif was pregnant the birth was highly anticipated for many reasons.

Months prior Thor and Sif had received a prophecy about Torunn and her powers. And what she would mean to the realm of Asgard. But this also meant many enemies would try and end her life before it would even begin. Thor in preparation for Torunn's birth had Arnbjorg crafted just for her, the wisdom gained from being the All-Father allowed him to get the dwarves to create an Blade capable of killing celestials. Thor and Sif thwarted enemies all throughout her pregnancy, up until the day Torunn was born and only on that day did Thor understand the power his daughter would possess one day.

At that moment Thor swore to himself that Torunn would be better than he was, and that meant whenever there would be a moment for him to teach her humility he would take it. That way she would never go through the struggles that he did. This was also a reason Torunn was on earth for a lot of her life prior to Ultron. Thor and even Sif agreed that it would be better if Torunn never thought she was too special, that way she would never be too cocky.

Still it was obvious to Thor and Sif that Torunn was special. This was because of the way she reacted to thunder and lightning. There were times where Thor questioned if baby Torunn was unconsciously holding his own abilities back, something that shouldn't have been possible. [2]

Ultron Revolution

In the year of 1998 right before Ultron's takeover, Thor entered his Thorsleep. At the time he and Sif had dropped Torunn off at Earth in the care of some friends Thor made during his time on earth, friends different from the Avengers. At the time of Ultron however Sif was one of those who couldn't leave Thor's side, partially because she was also in charge of the Bifrost. This unfortunate combination led to neither Asgardian being able to help Midgard during Ultron's sudden reign of terror. Tony had been the one to get Torunn from Thor's friends who had been gravelly injured due to the attacks of Ultron.

At the time Torunn was only 4 and didn't seem to understand what exactly was going on. It wasn't really until she was taken to the plane and saw the other kids she routinely played with looking sad, that she understood the situation. As one of the oldest Torunn did her best to comfort Azari and Pym with James who, at the time seemed to understand everything that was going on perfectly.

When they got to the Biodome and waited for the broken and bruised Iron Man, the first thing Torunn did was ask if her parents were going to come save them. Tony told her that he hoped so.

1999 The group started training, James and Torunn were very close even at such a young age, they constantly did there best to take care of the rest. By this point nearly a year had passed and Torunn was sorely confused. When she called out to her parents they answered. Her father had never ignored her for this long before, and he was always there to save the day.

Because of this Torunn got the idea that she herself had to save the day and that this was indeed a test from her father and mother to do what they did, and that was to become a warrior. And so even at a very young age Torunn became enamored with becoming the perfect warrior, in the hopes that she could impress her parents.

By 2003 Torunn's powers had developed nicely, putting her a cut above the rest physically. She was clearly the strongest and the fastest, especially with her newfound flight ability. It also led her to become very brash. Many times she wanted to leave the Biodome and 'smite' Ultron, and Tony had to do his best to stop her from doing anything unfixable. After all these years however Torunn was getting restless, and her faith in her parents started to waver.

By the year 2005, Torunn's faith in her Father coming to save them was all but gone. James had told her on many occasions that Thor was never coming to save them, and that she needed to be smarter, They couldn't go out and save the world. One day however when Torunn was all alone praying to her father for what was the first time in a long time, a large strike of thunder and lightning hit the ground and in a flash her sword appeared. This gave Torunn a newfound confidence to fuel her for years to come. It reinforced her idea that her parents wanted her to save the day.

Torunn realizes she's not unbeatable

By 2008, Torunn was mostly the same girl. She was hard headed and brash but she whole heartedly believed her father would come and save them. Torunn's brashness would nearly cost the Heroes of Tomorrow when they first encountered Ultra City, but her unwavering faith ultimately payed off when she was saved by her father and given a power boost to help save the day, rewarded for her eventual humility.

The Rebuild: 2008-2009

Post Ultron's defeat the Heroes of Tomorrow went all across America and eventually Europe saving the world. Torunn had a choice to go to Asgard immediately but instead decided to wait and help the team out on their "tour" During this time Torunn transitioned and moved further away from James and instead found comfort in the older Francis Barton who had saved her once already in the battle against Ultron.

The two lovestruck heroes struck up a fast relationship that quickly proved to be more trouble than either of them were anticipating. Yet still for their entire duration of 08-09 the two continued to date on again and off again, to the annoyance of every single member of the team. Particularly James who at one point told them to either cut it off or get off the team, as their fights were not worth what they were bringing to the battlefield. This is what many believed caused them to break up for the final time, and also what cause Torunn to take her first trip back to Asgard.

On Asgard many were excited to see the Princess for what felt like the first time in forever. Though she was worried about being an outsider at first Torunn quickly found that she loved being in Asgard, and they loved her. Her mother in particular wanted her to come back to Asgard. And at the time if not for the state of the Earth. She was planning on going.

As the only female member of the group Torunn's popularity was naturally high. couple that with her being from Asgard the people really found her an intriguing member of the team. For this reason Torunn was very popular on tours and many of the people would ask to see her whenever meeting the Avengers. Torunn was always okay with this, hoping that her presence could make the people happy.

The Modern Age: 2010-

Masters of Evil

By this point in time life has slowed significantly for the Heroes of Tomorrow and Torunn found herself spending more and more time on Asgard. She had planned that she would stay with her Mother and Father longer, but some information she learned on Asgard made her run back to Earth hastily. Though it's unclear what this knowledge could have been.

When Torunn made it back to Earth she found the team discussing the details of the Savage Lands missions. After being briefed on that mission she along with the rest of the Heroes of Tomorrow learned of the news that Madripoor wanted to take over the country. She was furious, calling whoever was planning it cowards, in the end though she had managed to calm fury enough to help calm James down as well. [3]

The Savage Lands mission was generally seen as a bust by the Heroes of Tomorrow, they're objective had been too get the mutant known as Wolverine, and instead that had stumbled upon Ka-Zar, and Shanna. While they learned a few things none of it was that valuable. Eventually the Avengers proceeded with a new plan of action that involved them splitting into three groups. One group going to Wakanda, the next group dealing with Crossfire and the group dealing with their knowledge problem.[4]

James, Torunn, and Azari went to Wakanda first talking with Azari's Aunt Shuri about what the highly advanced country could do for some other less fortunate countries in terms of relief. Torunn had done her best to comfort Azari before they made it as it was clear that he was struggling come back to what was supposed to be his home. Torunn had dealt with the same problem he had when she returned to Asgard so she understood what he was going through. Her words helped him gain his confidence and direct the meeting he had with Queen Shuri.

After the meeting Azari gave them the news that his aunt believed there might be mutants in Genosha, knowing this might be their only chance to find the X-Men, the three heroes took a detour and headed for the sacred country. The Genosha meeting similarly didn't go as planned and Torunn was shocked at how short and dismissive they all were of the current problems, still like the others Torunn believed that things could be fixed with just a little bit of time.[5]

Whilst things went okay in Genosha. Pym and Banner had succeeded in finding a new helper, and Francis' mission had gone completely wrong and he let James know that. While they argued Torunn got caught in the crossfire when Francis accused James of picking Torunn for the mission because he had a crush on her. Of course James coolly denied it, but after Torunn stormed out she also couldn't stop thinking about it and vowed to ask James about as soon as she could. That opportunity would arise the next day.

After the early morning meeting the group had, and tensions had slightly simmered Torunn went with James who was planning on visiting Eli and Daisy in the infirmary. Before the duo went inside Torunn stopped James and asked him if there was any truth in what Francis said. James quickly insisted there wasn't and that he only did what was right for the mission, but Torunn was hesitant to believe, and so she asked James if he had any feelings for her and the Super-Soldier quickly avoided that questions as well. Going on a bit of a tirade as Torunn tried to push him a little further. James insisted he had no time for romance, and so Torunn apologized and ended up going on her way.

Soon afterwards the time came to fight. The heroes were tasked with stopping Crossfire and Taskmaster before they could leave with any vital information. Things started off simple but eventually the team had to face off against Radioactive Man. It took a very strong effort from Torunn who siphoned off electric energy just from Azari just to beat the villain. Still Taskmaster got away and James was not happy.[6]

After the loss the Avengers had all agreed they needed to change their approach. James believed they could start off by analyzing everyone they had in their database. They were now at a time where they did not know who they were dealing with, so they needed to study everyone they could or else they would suffer more losses like that. After this James left with Daisy to go plan their counterattack and this made Torunn suspicious as she had seen the way James and Daisy were acting around one another. Her belief that they were together pushed her towards Francis and they ended up sharing a kiss not long after. Torunn broke off the kiss however and insisted she needed time to think about everything. It didn't take long for Torunn to agree to go back to dating Francis once more albeit with some ground rules, this time hoping they could mitigate their fighting. [7][8]

The next mission for the heroes was the planned counterattack against the Masters of Evil residing in Madripoor. At the time the heroes only knew of Crossfire, Taskmaster, Radioactive Man, and Viper. Though they had suspected that more would be waiting for them when they got to Madripoor. They were correct. The group going to Madripoor consisted of Torunn, James, Azari, Vision, Francis, and Pym. After Vision became comprised things quickly downhill and Torunn found herself in a battle against Moonstone who had quickly laid out nearly every ounce of strength she could muster into a hit against Torunn. The two heroes fought for a long time, with Madripoor being the only casualty of the battle the surrounding areas didn't survive the battle of Moonstone and Torunn which had come to a near standstill. It wasn't until she was pulled from the battle by Azari, did she began to understand what Viper and Zemo had used her for.

Eventually things began to correct themselves with Valerie getting into the mix politically to help the Avengers out when the Masters of Evil tried to bury them for the Madripoor situation on world stage at a UN meeting. After this Torunn decided that she needed to visit Asgard for a little while and it was the perfect time as things had began to cool down. When she was alone with Francis she told him about her upcoming trip and things didn't go well. Francis began to argue with Torunn stating that it hadn't even been 3 weeks and she was already leaving them again. Torunn told Francis that is was just something she had to do but Francis wasn't having it, believing there was no reason for her to have to go back to Asgard already. There argument continued escalate and only got worse when the talk moved to their parents and Francis said some unsavory things about her father. Because of all of his words she called Arnbjorg and left via her ability to manipulate the Bifrost and told Francis to tell the others it was his fault that she was leaving.[9][10]

Torunn was in Asgard for over a month before returning to the Compound. In Asgard she had been sent around across the Realms by her parents. This is something she does Everytime she's in Asgard. In Alfheim she talks with Queen Aelsa and gives her Aldrnari, In Nidavellir she's helps the dwarves with a little manual labor, in Muspelheim she helps out the fire demons with a couple of simple issues, In Nornheim she gave the last of the Aldrnari to Karnilla. Svartalfheim, and Niffleheim were both off-limits and Vanaheim never needed Torunn to talk to them. In Jotunheim she has a conversation with her Uncle Loki. They talk about simple things, and she asks him if he knew the real reason she traveled across the realms. Loki said he's always knew, and once that he realized that Torunn herself didn't know, he knew that Thor had not explained things properly to her.

In Asgard Torunn also had a long Conversation with her Uncle Heimdall who had originally explained to Torunn the reason she traveled across the realms was to make sure everyone was keeping the peace. Heimdall also asks Torunn if she has seen anything recently, which is regarding her visions. Torunn explains that she hasn't seen anything recently and wonders if that's a bad thing, but Heimdall assures her that, that is quite normal. She also wonders if something is coming that they need to be worried about but, Heimdall simply tells hers that the future is not set in stone. And that if something does happen. Asgard has it's protector. [11]

When Torunn got back it was a few days before the X-Men surprised the Avengers at the Compound. Torunn had went to go meet the Avengers and introduced herself with the rest of the team. She quickly became acquainted with the young heroes and this helped them stop the Assassination plot on Valerie by the Masters of Evil. When the news about Latveria came, Torunn was of course mad like the rest and was ready to fight. She led a lot of the Avengers into Latveria and fought her best, but like the rest wasn't able to stop Franklin. Still they Avengers managed to pull out a win, and as a result, Franklin fixed Ultra City for them. Torunn moved back to the Avengers Mansion with the rest of the Avengers. [12][13][14]

Annihilation

4 Months after the Masters of Evil situation and the situation in Latveria the Avengers found themselves with little to do and as a result many of the Avengers found themselves with little to do for the first time in their lives. For Torunn she knew that at the end of the day while Earth would be her home it wasn't always her first priority. She knew that eventually she would be Queen of Asgard and even before then she would has responsibilities as a Princess which would keep her busy. She was ready to do these duties and so she had an alternative aside from being an Avenger.

Torunn however was worried for the rest of the Avengers and voiced her opinions to her friends worried that they wouldn't have anything to do aside from Avenging. She made sure that Francis, Pym, and James knew as they were who she was most worried about, and after they made it clear they understood her point she was somewhat content.

Soon after this the Avengers found themselves responding to a threat in Manhattan. For the first time in months the Avengers had someone to fight, the Wrecking Crew. Despite the suddenness of the attack the Avengers were up to the task and defeated the Wrecking Crew.[15]

Soon enough the Avengers found themselves in another situation when a robot began to attack Manhattan. The robot was the Super-Adaptoid and he got the jump on the Avengers quickly stealing their abilities and it making himself extremely hard to fight. The X-Men's sudden appearance however had turned the tides and they managed to destroy the Adaptoid after seeing what it did to the Avengers. However the questions were still there. Where did the robot come from?

While the questions were being asked Jim Hammond showed up and promised answers, explaining that Valeria had rediscovered something and that they all needed to hear what he was about to tell them. The X-Men left to their Mansion and the Avengers listened to what Jim had to say. Jim explained to them about the being they fought in the Negative Zone and how they believed the Adaptoid had been sent to Earth because of the residue Valeria found on it.[16]

It became a situation where the Avengers began to decide whether or not it was important to go back into the Negative Zone. Torunn was leading the charge to go back to the Negative Zone believing that the Earth could not take another surprise attack, and for the most part everyone had to agree. Eventually after some convincing James agreed to what Torunn and most of the others way saying and that was to go back to the Negative Zone. So quickly plans began to be made for a team to go to the Negative Zone.

The team was led by Torunn and consisted of Pym, Valeria, Jim, and Riri. The team decided that aside from getting some equipment they would be leaving as soon as possible. Everyone went to see them off, and then they were shot into the Negative Zone to find more information on the creature who Jim fought.[17]

The team found themselves in an unknown section of the Negative Zone. However the team moved quick and with a little help from some locals they learned that they were on the planet Argor.

On Argor they found a tavern where they began to ask the locals if they had ever seen the man in the picture they had. Quickly the mood around the bar plummeted as they explained to them that Annihilus was the being in the photo. They learned that he wasn't just anybody, he was actually the ruler of over half of the Negative Zone. Despite quickly kicking them out of the bar for bringing up Annihilus, the owner pointed them in the direction of a "hero" who would tell them more about Annihilus and supposedly allow them to learn what was real about him and what was purely myth.

They took the Bar owner's advice and found the hero fighting against a group of Arthrosians. They quickly jumped in and helped out the hero known as Darkfire. He was hesitant and first but as Torunn and the others began to explain their situation Ja'Vok also explained his, how he was kidnapped at a young age and experimented on to give him powers, how he escaped, and how he eventually came back and found his race wiped out. How he had fought Annihilus caught him off guard, and still nearly lost his life. He didn't believe Annihilus was beatable nor was he planning on helping.

Eventually Torunn managed to convince him to help them out by explaining to him their old situation on Earth with Ultron, and after hearing how they dealt with a tyrant of their own, Ja'Vok was willing to help them and began to plan to help them reach Annihilus' home planet. Arthros.

The heroes began to travel through the Negative Zone employing the use of Jump Zones which allowed them to travel across sectors faster. Over a course of a week in the Negative Zone the group found themselves in a few different worlds. Krysok, Tarsuu where they found themselves dealing with Baluurans a powerful race in the Negative Zone who have a large group of Space Pirates. During this battle Darkfire disappeared leaving them alone for a long while.

They eventually defeated them and afterwards Darkfire returned but no words were shared between the group. On the planet Kiulara their ship broke down and they had to fight the natives of the planet while also fixing their ship, this was just one of the many planets they visited before landing on Arthros.[18]

On Arthros the plan was fairly simple, they needed to get into Annihilus Castle as that was where the terminal stored with information they needed was located. it was a simple information grab and the heroes quickly set off on the mission hoping they could go home afterwards. The mission was only going to consist of the heroes from Earth but Ja'Vok decided to help out and they let him.

The palace was guarded by many Arthrosians, but with Pym's shrinking ability he was able to take out a good portion of the guards and sneak the group into the building. Afterwards Riri and Val began to hack into the terminal and the rest were tasked with guarding them and making sure no one messed with their attempts at the terminal.

Torunn, Pym, Jim were able to work in sync after all the time shared together in the past week. They were able to defeat most of the lower class Arthrosians. But the Arthrosians changed up their fighting strategy and all of them retreated allowing one single insectoid that was nearly 30ft tall to fight the group of heroes.

The heroes did their best to keep the beast away from the transmitter. After Pym was injured Torunn's rage fueled her and she mostly took down the beast herself with some help from Pym. Soon enough Riri and Valeria got the time they needed and explained to the heroes that they had gotten into Annihilus' database and that his army was as large as they heard at the Tavern. The good news however was that Riri believed she and Val would be able to self-detonate half of their army.

However after hearing this information Ja'Vok shot the transmitter destroying any chance they had of shutting it down. Torunn and Pym demanded to know why he did that and he explained to them they shouldn't have been surprised and that they would do the same if they were in his position. He explained that he had started a family and that while he never kept them where Annihilus could find out, he found out anyway. If he didn't do what Annihilus wanted then he would surely be killed.

Torunn told Ja'Vok that they could have helped him end Annihilus regime and save their family, instead he's damned both of their worlds. Ja'Vok however insisted he didn't care because he guaranteed his family's safety. There wasn't anymore time to argue with Ja'Vok as the place was beginning to be surrounded by Arthrosians. So the team grouped up and left back to Earth as their wasn't anything they could do.[19]

Back at the Avengers Mansion as Pym expected there was a large time difference, while they had been gone for a week, for those on Earth only 2 minutes had passed. After regrouping Torunn and Pym began to explain everything that happened, and how the threat of Annihilus had the potential to be worse than Ultron considering he planned on destroying the entire Universe.

Despite the threat upon them, Riri explained that they did still have a plan and that while it wouldn't be easy with everyone's help they could plan to stop him even if they only had one week. Afterwards the O5 had a private talk where Pym explained to the heroes why Torunn was so angry. He explained that Torunn's blamed herself for Ja'Vok being a traitor. And how she wasn't able to prevent him from ruining their chance at ending everything there and then.

Torunn confirmed this eventually, explaining that James or Francis would have been able to lead the team much better than she had. Francis explained to Torunn that it may be true but it's not a big deal as they all had their strengths. James explained that she couldn't play what if's as a leader. Not every decision she would make would be perfect, but she needed to stick by them and learn from them next time. This helped Torunn get in a better mood and they begun to prepare for Annihilus who was coming in a week.

Over the course the week Francis and James began to train some of the newer heroes like Dani, Cassie, and May in preparation for Annihilus. One day will training outside a bizarre situation occurred. A warrior from the future appeared and seemingly held the intention to kill James who she explained was her target. Most of the Avengers fought her and were losing. Torunn was called and also prepared to fight her.

Initially Torunn was shocked as the girl was wearing some sort of device and the device spoke quietly saying that Torunn was the All-Mother of Asgard and possibly the greatest warrior anyone had ever seen. The girl then clashed with Torunn and they fought, while the girl had respect for Torunn she insisted that while one day Torunn would be able to beat her, for now she was stronger, after saying this she punched Torunn into the stratosphere seemingly winning the fight.

However this angered Torunn and she came flying back with a vengeance. When she returned the skies had darkened and her eyes had turned lightning blue. She told the girl that she should stand down because she wouldn't be holding back any longer. And while Torunn never fought while in this state, it was clear that the girl wanted no part of that and instead completed her mission which actually turned out to be getting a kiss from James.

After this revelation the shock of it all brought things back to normal as anger turned to confusion and everyone wanted to learn what was going on. It was later revealed that girl's name was Lyra and Lyra had actually taken his DNA and was planning to take it back to the future with her for breeding purposes.

After a talk with James, Francis, and Torunn they learned that Lyra didn't really want to go to the future as her future was dominated by a gender based war, and what was even worse was that her own people despised her. This led her to choose to stay in the 21st Century.[20]

After the midweek distraction things went smoothly and it became time for the fight against Annihilus. When it came time for the plan to be enacted Torunn was the leader of all the flying heroes. When Annihilus' and three ships passed through the portal she led the charge against the ships and managed a very good coordinated attack.

Despite this Annihilus' numbers were quite overwhelming but the addition of the Hulk into the fight evened the odds as he managed to destroy a ship on his own. This gave the group a second wind and Torunn led the group to take down the other ships.[21]

Torunn was one of the few heroes left willing and able to fight against Annihilus. Facing off against the Annihilus it took work but the combined might of the Avengers and the X-Men managed to take Annihilus down. Nocturne dealt the biggest blow, and Torunn was the one who dealt the killing blow.

After the fight Captain America gave up his shield to Dani. This marked a change for the Avengers as he left the group, deciding he needed to strike out on his for a while and figure out things for himself. Azari was also planning on going to Wakanda for a while explaining that he needed to continue his training to become King. While this happened Torunn also explained that she was needed in Asgard, and that while she would always be an Avenger she needed to be with her family in Asgard. She told Pym and Francis she would be back as soon as she could be.[22]

A week later Torunn found herself in Asgard reflecting on things that had happened and the situation going on in Asgard. At the moment her father was in his Thorsleep, and this was the first instance of it in more than ten years. At this same time her mother had been pregnant with twins. Something about Magni and Modi's power was draining for her father and he had entered Thorsleep prior to the New Year and still had woken up nearly 2 months later.

What had been the true kicker however was her Mother, whose pregnancy which was supposed to be very easy, turned out to be the exact opposite. At the moment she was pale, frail, and losing weight every single day. She was sick and everyday her condition worsened. The only thing Torunn knew was that condition was far from natural. At the moment her Mother was dying, and her father still hadn't woken up. With all of this going on Torunn was acting head of Asgard, the All-Mother.[23]

Personality

Quote1Let those who worship at the altar of evil tremble and despair! The mighty Torunn shall fight for Earth, Asgard, and any of the other nine realms! And by Arnbjorg's hilt I promise you do not want to quarrel with me...Quote2
Torunn Thorsdottir

Torunn is a warrior with Asgardian pride. She takes the art of fighting and battle very serious as most Asgardians do. She also believes herself to be the protector of the Nine Realms, a job that her father Thor took very seriously as well. if you pick a fight with the helpless and defenseless and she finds out, she will stop you, not caring at all for semantics.

Torunn can at times be brash and stubborn in situations, but it's only because when she cares she cares deeply for things. She can't stand see friends and family hurt, and can be prone to raging when it happens.

Torunn is a person who knows when it's time to fight, and knows when it's time to relax. She has no problem indulging in Earth's or Asgard's gifts. She loves laughs and spending time with her family. The one on Asgard and the one on Earth.

Most of the Asgard Royalty stuff doesn't bother Torunn one bit. One day she will be Queen of Asgard, but unlike Azari she knows that day will be a long, long, long time away. Torunn at times feels guilty knowing that she has parents to go to, and the others don't. This at times leads her to act like a mother to Pym and Azari, and for her to try her best to be a confidant for James and Francis

Relationships

Family

ThorSif

Thor and Lady Sif: Torunn has established a steady going relationship with both of her parents. Her admiration of her father has still not dwindled, and now that she knows her mother more, she has a newfound respect and admiration for her as well. She really loves her family.

OlderIronMan

Tony Stark: Tony is still a large looming father figure in Torunn's life. She simply considers him her earth Dad and Thor her Asgardian dad. Many of things she knows were instilled by Tony and that's never going to change, and for that she will always love and respect the man for what he's done for her and the others.

Friends

JamesRogers3

James Rogers: James was Torunn's original bestfriend and vice versa. Originally in the Biodome they were the oldest and they took on the task on helping the younger ones. It was obvious to everyone else at the time that they liked each other, but it seemed neither knew how to act on that. And when Francis entered the picture this changed there relationship from the more free flowing one they had prior, to the tenser one they have now. Still even before it was noted that James and Torunn were prone to fights, but that was mostly because they were kids. As of this moment Torunn and James are great about putting there romantic feelings to the side and being friends, but whenever it's brought up, things don't go too well.

Yellowjacket2

Henry Pym Jr: the youngest hero, to Torunn Pym will always be like a baby to her. It uncanny because Torunn is so young but it's almost like she is a mother for Pym. Torunn had taken it upon herself to be a big influence in Pym's life, and because of it she's basically the only motherly figure he's ever known. They have a great brother-sister relationship. Torunn did her best to comfort Henry when learned the truth about his parents.

Hawkeye4

Francis Barton: Francis is one of Torunn's best friends and romantic love interest. Though Torunn and Francis had many on again, off again days it didn't stop them from being close with one another. No matter how many times they've broken up they still respect each other. Torunn and Francis also clearly have some romantic feelings for one another as they had quickly got back together, but they also have separated again despite neither actually saying it.[24][25]

Azari Munroe: Azari is also like Torunn's other little brother, and they love each other dearly. Azari goes to Torunn in confidence with many situations, and she provides him with the wisdom or the confidence he needs to keep trekking through. They have a great relationship.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

Asgardian/Elder God Hybrid Physiology: Biologically Torunn is partially Asgardian, and part Elder God due to Thor's heritage. Torunn possesses a number of superhuman attributes common among Asgardians and other gods. However, due to being of Thor's bloodline, some of her powers are considerably more developed than other Asgardians her age. Still due to Asgardians aging very slowly, Torunn is nowhere near her physical prime, and it's very possible she hasn't accessed all her abilities yet.

  • Superhuman Strength: In addition to being the Goddess of Thunder, Torunn is also gifted strength because of her royal heritage. Since Torunn is still young her full Asgardian strength has not kicked in. Still in recent years her powers have grown and she has been shown to be able to lift up to 15 tons, but she is definitely stronger and has been shown saying that she has never reached her limit. Torunn has fought Radioactive Man and defeated him though she had been powered up by Azari. She has also fought Moonstone to a standstill indicating she must be stronger than the 15 tons that has been assumed. Her fight against Lyra also supports this theory as she fought with her and while at first she seemed to lose she came back stronger than ever indicating she has to be at least near Lyra who is said can lift up to 100 tons.
  • Superhuman Speed: Torunn is capable of running and moving at speeds significantly greater than that of even the finest human athlete. So far she had also exhibited speed faster than most if not all Superhumans.
  • Superhuman Stamina: Torunn's advanced musculature is more beyond efficient than that of a human and most other Asgardians allowing her to sustain herself almost indefinitely without any exhaustion.
  • Superhuman Durability: Torunn's body is much more resistant to physical harm than the body of a human being. She is capable of withstanding great impact forces, exposure to temperature and pressure extremes, powerful energy blasts, and high calibre bullets without sustaining injury. It was shown earlier that blasts from Ultron Robots could hurt her, now as she's older the hits tend to just bounce off.
  • Superhuman Agility & Reflexes: Torunn's reflexes, agility, balance, and bodily coordination are beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete.
  • Vast Energy Manipulation: Torunn has the ability to manipulate vast amounts of energy, using Arnbjorg, or her own body she can channel the storm’s energy into blasts so powerful they single handedly destroyed Ultron's ships. She easily channeled Azari's own electrokinetic powers and used it to power herself.
    • Weather Control: Torunn has the ability to control the elements of storms, both with and without Arnbjorg.
  • Superhuman Longevity: It is a common misconception that Torunn and the other Gods of Asgard are truly immortal, they do age but at a rate so slow that to other beings they give the appearance of immortality. This is in turn enhanced by the Golden Apples of Idunn.
  • Invulnerability: Being a god whose heritage is both Three/Fourths-Asgardian and Quarter-Elder God affords Torunn virtual invulnerability and immunity to any such human ailments as diseases, toxins, poisons, and highly resistant to most conventional injuries. she has also shown immunity to lead and radiation poisoning, extreme heat and subzero temperatures.
  • Superhuman Dense Tissue: Like all Asgardians, Torunn's skin, muscles, and bones are about three times denser than similar human tissue, contributing to her superhuman strength and weight.
  • Superhuman Senses: Torunn's superhuman senses allow her to see objects that are cities away, and allows her to track objects traveling at the speed of sound, and hear cries from the other side of the world. As she grows older, it's explained her senses would be able to reach the far side of the galaxies.
  • Rapid Healing Factor: Torunn is not invulnerable to all harm and it is possible to injure her. But due to Torunn’s Asgardian physiology she is able to heal from most injuries much faster than a human being could.

Flight: Torunn has shown the ability to levitate without her sword.

Instant Teleportation: Torunn has, by birthright, the power to transverse time and space, and travel faster than the speed of thought by piercing the fabrics of Infinity and travel to any destination she choose. Torunn can also use her enchanted sword to teleport herself to Earth and Asgard. Since she is still young, she has trouble getting to any of the other nine realms, or other dimensions.

Chronokinesis: While she hasn't shown the ability, it's been inferred by talks with her Mother, that at some point in time she will be able to manipulate time to view past events. Just as Lady Sif does.

Allspeak: Thanks to the Allspeak Asgardians can communicate in all of the languages of the Nine Realms, Earth's dialects, and various alien languages.

Visions: Whether this is simply a facet of her Chronokinesis or even a power is unknown, but Torunn seems to be able to see the future through Visions. These Visions aren't things that come naturally rather it's a random occurence that has only happened 2-3 times as she slept, but it has yet to be wrong. She works with Heimdall to understand the meaning of her dreams.[26]

Abilities

Expert Combatant: Trained in the arts of war, Torunn is a highly skilled warrior, proficient in unarmed combatant, and proficient with most Asgardian weaponry. Most of her early training was done by Tony Stark, but after defeating Ultron, Torunn went through rigorous training regimes with her Father on Asgard.

Paraphernalia

Equipment: Avengers Identicard
Transportation: Quinjet
Weapons: The Asgardian blade Arnbjorg was crafted by the Dwarves of Nidavellir and sanctioned to be used by Torunn before she was even born. It's not known what's its made of, but it's properties are durability, enchantment, and absorbing energies. Arnbjorg's hilt is extremely long, and it's blade is a little unconventional in shape as the blade goes from skinny to wider at the end. The sword is extremely durable, and combined with the enchantments placed by Thor it's considered indestructible. Thor once told Torunn that the sword could be used to kill Celestials. Something only Mjolnir, and Jarnbjorn could do.

  • Mystical Link: Arnbjorg obeys Torunn’s commands as though it were alive, and if Torunn’s will is strong enough, the sword can pass through nearly any barrier to reach her should she so chooses; This is thought to be more indictive of Torunn's teleportation ability, than the sword.
  • Weather Control: Wielding Arnbjorg grants Torunn the ability to control the base elements of a storm, i.e. rain, wind, thunder, ice, snow, and more.
  • Energy Absorption and Redirection: Torunn is able to use Arnbjorg to absorb energy blasts directed towards her as means of attack. Once the energy is absorbed, Torunn can redirect it back amplified towards the source.

Notes

  • Torunn has a fear of growing old without her friends. It was only recently Torunn began to understand that she will live to be thousands of years old, and her friends will not make it there. This thought makes her sad and she's not sure what to do about it. [28]
  • Torunn knows that her and James have some unresolved tension but she isn't sure if anything will ever be done about it. And she's not sure how to feel about that.
  • Torunn worries about the other Avengers and what they will do without an enemy to fight. Specifically Pym, Francis, and James. She knows she and Azari have kingdoms to go back to, but she feels as if all this time fighting Ultron has not allowed her friends to learn what they truly like to do outside of fighting. [29]
  • With her Father in Thorsleep and her Mother sick, Torunn is the current All-Mother and acting head of Asgard.
  • When Torunn came back after initially being "beaten" by Lyra, she spoke in what could only be described as a godly voice, this also played a part in Lyra's sudden surrender.
  • According to Lyra who is from the 23rd Century, in her time period Torunn is or was the All-Mother. Considering Torunn is currently the All-Mother now, this could mean that Thor never wakes up and her Mother never gets better, or she officially becomes the All-Mother later down the line.
