Captain America Neo

History[]

Steve Rogers, better known as Captain America, was a young but enthusiastic and selfless military trainee during World War II. When a spy for the Nazi science group Hydra attacked the boot camp he was being trained at, Rogers put himself in harm's way to rescue scientist Abraham Erskine and fellow soldier Bucky Barnes. This brave act of heroism is what caused Howard Stark to choose him for the secret "Super Soldier Project", enhancing Rogers to peak human condition. He was sent with a covert team known as The Invaders to shut down a Hydra experiment being carried out by Johann Schmidt. Rogers discovered that Hydra was attempting to create an interdimensional portal, and in the ensuing destruction of the portal generator, Schmidt had a powerful reactor core explode in his face. He survived, but was left horribly scarred, being dubbed "The Red Skull", and he vowed revenge.

During his many adventures with The Invaders, Rogers fell in love with his teammate Peggy Carter, a highly-trained British espionage agent. However, he soon found out she was in a relationship with Tony Stark, but she still harbored some feelings toward him.

On another mission behind enemy lines with Bucky Barnes, who was now a close friend of his, he sacrificed himself to rescue captured American soldiers, falling into Hydra's clutches. They stole his DNA with the goal of creating their own super soldier army. The Red Skull returned, attacking the base and killing all the scientists. He injected the super soldier serum into himself, and battled Rogers. The Hydra base was then attacked by American troops, led by Barnes. Barnes went into save Rogers, but was seemingly killed by Red Skull. One of the few surviving Hydra scientists, Arnim Zola, desperate to evade capture, activated the unfinished second interdimensional portal. Rogers and Red Skull were sucked into another dimension, while Zola was captured by American forces nonetheless. After his disappearance, Peggy Carter revealed to Howard Stark that she truly loved Steve Rogers all along.

In modern day, Rogers was discovered, still alive but in a deep coma, not seeming to have aged a day, by the Asgardian Heimdall, floating in the void beneath the Bifrost Bridge. He was last seen being taken to the palace of King Odin.
