History[]

Early Years[]

Felicia Sara Hardy (born April, 1982) was the only child and daughter of legendary and world-renowned cat-burglar Walter Hardy and his wife, Anastasia Hardy. During her childhood Felicia was extremely close with her father, Walter teaching his daughter skills like lock-picking and gymnastics. Since Felicia had a natural talent in regards to thievery. However her mother Anastasia vehemently opposed her following in her father's footsteps. Walter agreeing with his wife, since sometimes the work he did was extremely dangerous. A fact Felicia truly discovered shortly after her thirteenth birthday when her father ended up in prison, after being framed, after doing a job for New York's infamous "Kingpin of Crime" Wilson Fisk. Where once Walter was he ended up dying in a prison fight. But not accepting this Felicia started investigating her father's actions leading up to his imprisonment and eventually discovered evidence that Fisk had learned of her and her mother and was threatening them should her father refuse to cooperate. Now knowing this Felicia surmised that the Kingpin was likely behind her father's death, and with that she swore vengeance against him. To that end she contacted her father's old mentor, and member of the Thieves Guild, of which her father was apart of, Black Fox, and asked him to train her. To which the elder thief agreed, if only to honor Walter's memory. Thus Felicia began her journey to become a professional thief and avenge her father's murder.

Black Cat Is Born[]

Immediately after beginning her training under the Fox, alongside her fellow apprentices Odessa Drake and Tamara Blake, both of whom Felicia eventually became romantically involved with, she showed she had a natural talent for thievery just like her father. Which is why in no time at all she was pulling off heist's at a level of professionals who had years of experience on her. Seeing this Black Fox, soon gave Felicia his stamp of approval, and before her eighteenth birthday she was acknowledged as a full-fledged thief, and member of the Thieves Guild. After which she given the honor of choosing her own codename. Which after learning her father Walter's was The Cat, decided to honor him, as well as her teacher Fox, by creating her codename from both their monikers. Thus the Black Cat was born.

College Days[]

Now fully recognized as a pro thief Felicia began taking steps for the next part of her plan to avenge her father, and thus began stealing from the Kingpin many businesses and associates to get noticed by him and his people.

Though in her civilian life she began attending college, specifically Empire State University. Where do to her money, looks, good grades, and general overall personality, Felicia became very popular very quickly. Especially with men. In particular a fellow classmate of hers named Ryan, who wouldn't back down no matter how many times Felicia spurned his romantic advances. Leading to him attempting to rape her one night, during their junior year, while they were at a party. But thanks to all the training she had done due to her days spent under Black Fox and the Thieves Guild she easily beat Ryan back and then started to flee. Only for him to chase after her. The boy then getting stopped by a couple of freshmen the duo ran into consisting of Harry Osborn, Gwen Stacy, and finally Peter Parker. Peter going so far as to break Ryan wrist after learning what he was attempting to do to Felicia. Leading the older girl to take a slight interest in the younger boy. An interest she instant squashed upon learning he was dating his fellow freshman Gwen.

Despite this Felicia still found herself involved with Peter, as well as his friends, becoming friends with them herself. Marking them as her first real ones in a long time.

Though despite her new friendships it didn't keep Felicia from her ultimate goal of revenge. But a hindrance did appear, namely in the form of Peter alter ego Spiderman. Who stopped Felicia from robbing a jewelry store one night, marking their very first encounter. After which the pair crossed path several more times, often bantering when they met, and turning their fights more into playful and friendly chases. Felicia in particular taking the lead in these games, since she found herself taking a liking to Spiderman. But despite her obvious advances he continued to reject her, until suddenly he changed his tune and she found herself in a friends-with-benefits situation with the web-slinging hero.

Right after which Felicia found herself contacted by the Kingpin people.

Gaining Powers[]

Returning their contact Felicia soon found herself face-to-face with Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin himself, who admitted he admired Felicia bold nature from stealing from him and his associates and would bring her into his organization. Right after she brought him the head of Spiderman, who Fisk revealed had been a thorn in his side for years.

Faced with this revelation, and having begun to develop genuine feelings for Spiderman, Felicia could not in good conscience follow through with the Kingpin request and instead opted to trick him and then move in to kill Fisk. But her attempt ended in failure as Fisk easily overpowered Felicia himself and then captured her. After which he made her an unwilling test subject for the new scientist on his payroll named Dr. Farley Stillwell, who had created the Scorpion, and was now being tasked by the Kingpin to create him his own personal army of super-soldoers. Leading Felicia to be one of Farley's first live subjects. The procedure itself slowing her heart rate down to the point it looked like she was dead. Seeing this, and deeming Felicia and utterly failure, Farley and Wilson disposed of her body. Having no idea the procedure did in fact work, and upon her heartbeat returning to normal, after the Kingpin men dumped her in a landfill, Felicia soon discovered her new powers. Eventually learning she now had all the capabilities of a super-soldier, as well as the additional power to manipulate quantum probability, or in simple terms luck, in her favor. Turning her into more of a literal Black Cat.
