History

I refuse to die until I have slain every last Vampire I set my sights on
— Blade

Eric Brooks was born a vampire Hybrid known as "Dhampir", which means Eric possesses all of their strengths but none of their weaknesses. After the mysterious death of his mother, Eric grew bitter and angry towards the world and wanted to get revenge by declaring war on Vampires. As a young man, Eric was trained by Mr. afari, the mysterious man who took Eric in and raised him after the death of his mother. Afari would train Eric and give him all the tools and advice needed for slaying Vampires. Upon completing his training, Eric would operate under the moniker, Blade.


Blade has had a few run ins with Spider-Man while tracking the whereabouts of Morbius, who Blade received a tip from an associate but later found out Morbius isn't a "true" Vampire. Blade and Spider-Man would grow to respect one another despite their rather hostile encounter.


Early Years with the Nightstalkers

Upon completing his training, Eric spent two years with a team of fellow vampire hunters who would soon be known as The Nightstalkers. Despite none of them really liking each other, the trio put their differences aside and put their focus on hunting down Dracula, who managed to be a great challenge for the trio and has managed to evade and overwhelm them on various occasions.

  • Dhampir Physiology: Blade possesses all the strengths and abilities of a full-powered Vampire without their drawbacks and weaknesses. Blood is still involved but vary rarely does Blade even need to consume blood usually the case is when he's critically or fatally injured.

  • Enhanced Swordsmanship: Brooks is an extremely skilled swordsman and is usually his depicted weapon of choice in combat.
