History
I see why that ogre hated you so much, Peter. Not because he was jealous of you for being the smartest of our classmates in Midtown High, or just another "four-eyed bookworm" like these bullies refer to... but because he was jealous that you've always been better at keeping relationships alive. He doesn't really have any friends, and hates his own family. Especially his father, who pushed him into being the bully he became. But you? You still have your friends, including the beautiful girl you feel in love with, and your new best friend... and you still love your family. Just like I love my brothers Marcus and Teddy, and the girl who stood up to me in that hospital. And I'm grateful to call you my friend, and the leader we need.

Early Years
Born the daughter of firefighter Wilson Allan and zoologist Doris Allan, Liz Allan is the younger sister of Marcus Allan. Few years after her mother died, Liz's father married Rose Avril, who gave birth to Liz's younger half-brother Theodore "Teddy" Allan-Avril, who would also be raised by Rose's daughter Sally.

Liz Allan before becoming Firestar
Like most young citizens, Liz also grew up becoming a fan of superheroes; with her most potential idol being She-Hulk. Liz also became the class president of Midtown High School, where she made friends with students like Mary Jane Watson and Randy Robertson. She and Randy later watched as Mary Jane dropped out from Midtown High to Horizon High School with Peter Parker, who blamed principal Spencer Smythe for the death of his uncle Ben Parker. Liz did not drop out, but expressed sympathy for Peter over his grief, and suggested Smythe to have responsibility for his students' conditions.
Enrolling at Horizon High School
Sometime later, Liz begun dating Flash Thompson out of pity for him having issues with his abusive father, although she was annoyed by his constant pranks on her. Her relationship with him, however, was short-lived and ended badly when Flash's latest prank on Liz (on which she was hit by him with a pickle juice balloon) put her in hospital due to her allergy to pickles. Cured from her allergy by Marina Argo but angry at Smythe for not following her earlier advice, Liz dropped out of Midtown High along with Randy to enroll at Horizon High, where her brother Marcus was also enrolled, leaving Flash devastated and brokenhearted. There, she reunited with Peter and Mary Jane, and befriended new classmates including Gwen Stacy, Anya Corazon, Kamala Khan, and Marina (whom Liz developed a mutual crush on). Liz and her friends would later learn Peter is Spider-Man, and express support for his actions.
After her father was killed by Arcade's henchmen to hold J. Jonah Jameson responsible, Liz and her brothers were among the citizens protesting against him in his trial, and watching in shock and disgust as Arcade was unmasked by Spider-Man and Mary Jane (as White Tiger) as Jameson's younger son and abuse victim Reginald "Reggie" Jameson. Liz and her brothers later attended their father's funeral, with a grieving Liz being comforted by Marina.
