The MCU, having struggled in the 2020s due to consistently bad films and simply audience fatigue of the Superhero genre, had come up with a plan to revive the craze for the MCU. With Kang out of the picture and the higher-ups at Marvel tired of the Multiverse Saga, have decided it is best to reboot the universe and start from scratch, and at the end of Secret Wars, destroy Earth-199999.
The Marvel Company itself, has also evolved with the reboot, changing it's branding (notably it's logo) to feel more cozy and welcoming, as well as rebuilding how the company itself works, to make sure the mess that was Phase 4 and Phase 5 does not happen again.
Rights of Different Characthers[]
Spider-Man[]
A couple months before the release of Avengers: Doomsday, Sony and Disney reiginited talks over the rights of Spider-Man due to their plans of rebooting the MCU and wanting to take full advantage of the characters. The deal would finish with Disney being allowed to use the character whenever they want in films and shows, while also allowing Sony to do the same, and they're simply not allowed to use each other's versions of the character and related characters.
