Drax the Destroyer was a Sakaaran gladiator, who was falsely accused of murdering his wife. However, his wife was actually murdered by an assassin named Gamora. He escaped prison and went on the run, eventually meeting the bandit known as Peter Quill. The two were recruited by Adam Warlock for a team of intergalactic heroes.

- Super Strength - Drax was born with abnormally high strength, exceeding that of even the strongest warriors on Sakaar. How he got these powers is unknown, though it is assumed he may be a genetic mutate.
