History

Growing up in Greece, Dominic Petros was always a believer that something greater was pulling the strings of life. This belief was further supported when he discovered his ability to manipulate the Earth’s tectonic plates and create avalanches.
He initially used this ability to wreak havoc on his hometown, only to pretend to save everyone, coming to be worshiped as the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. However, Magneto knew the truth. Dominic was a mutant. After having the truth revealed to him, he adopted the name Avalanche and buried his home town, agreeing to join Magneto’s Brotherhood.
Avalanche was instrumental in the establishment of the island of Genosha on Earth, after the Brotherhood migrated from Asteroid M. He was able to use his abilities to merge the land formations together in order to create the mutant haven.
He was later present during the Sentinel devastation of Genosha, and did everything he could to hold them off. In the process, he accidentally wound up ripping the island apart, and sinking himself with it. Barely managed to survive the crash into the ocean, he was soon exterminated by the remaining Sentinels.
