Dakota Conrad was born into a fabulously wealthy family, but she never felt like she belonged. As she reached maturity it became clear that she suffered from some form of sociopathy.

She found solace in social media, where her good looks and controversial personality gained her millions of followers. As the amount of craziness in the world began to rise, caused by the likes of superheroes and villains, she decided she needed to keep up.

Adopting the name "Screwball", she began recruiting her fans to set up elaborate death traps all across the world that she would force people to participate in for the entertainment of her followers. Over time, she became increasingly more careless with the danger she was putting people in, which put her in conflict with her parents. She snapped and shot both of them, completely losing herself in the identity of Screwball.

She eventually decided she was ready to graduate to torturing superheroes, and chose Spider-Man because of his "relatability". He refused to participate in her games, but she made it increasingly difficult by blatantly sending attack drones and gangs after him.

When she began to notice her follower count dropping, she hatched an idea. Screwball made contact with the Sinister Six, the Spider-Man hating supervillain team led by Doctor Octopus, and offered them the opportunity to run Spider-Man through a gauntlet one by one that would climax in Doctor Octopus finally killing him. The Six agreed, and Screwball enacted her most popular livestream of all, titled "The Death of Spider-Man".

Unfortunately for Screwball, the Avengers got involved in her scheme and saved Spider-Man's life, defeating the Sinister Six. Screwball was then finally tracked down by Spider-Man and the Avengers, who placed her under arrest. However, not before she could ask for Iron Man's autograph.

Trivia

  • Screwball's livestream "The Death of Spider-Man" initially played a large role in the Prophecy of Infinity. That is because in the original timeline, the Sinister Six were successful in killing Spider-Man, and Screwball's fame skyrocketed as a public enemy.
