Early Years
Crystal was the second child born to the Inhuman's Quelin and Ambur and was part of the Royal Family of Attilan, alongside her sister Medusa. Like her older sister, Medusa, Crystal was subjected to the Terrigen Mist when she was an infant, and the process endowed her with immense elemental powers, which she immediately demonstrated impressive control over. Despite Crystal's royal position she was rarely interested in traditional royal duties, instead preferring to find adventure, even when it created risks. She also became a notable participant in the Inhuman ceremonial battles against representatives from other Inhuman factions. The older she got however the more she was expected to act as part of the Royal Family, a role which Crystal felt stifled by. Unwilling to take this spot Crystal fled, leaving through the Eldrac portal, and found herself on Earth.
Crystal spent months adventuring on Earth before she would meet Johnny Storm, also known as the Human Torch, with the two becoming instantly taken with each other due to their care-free attitudes and desire for adventure. Crystal would take up Johnny's offer to join him in New York. It was here that the two, alongside Johnny's sister Sue, would become embroiled in the Atlantean attack on New York City. The trio would instantly jump into action, with Johnny and Crystal leading efforts to protect citizens while Sue helped to convince Namor to halt the attack. In the aftermath Sue would accept the offer to become the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and would offer both Johnny and Crystal a spot on a new team of heroes - the Avengers, which the two would both quickly accept.
