Early life[]

Craig Hollis was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Audrey and Edward Hollis. Audrey Hollis, dying from childbirth complications, asked the demon Deathurge to look after her son to which Deathurge accepted. Throughout Craig's childhood Deathurge, who he dubbed D'urge, would try put Craig in life-threating positions. During Craig's 8th birthday, Deathurge convinced Craig to set his house on fire, to which Craig did. Craig was saved by the firefighters, although his father, Edward did not share the fate, with him dying from severe burns.
Craig was soon fostered to a new father, Kenny O'Doughan who hit Craig, however Craig persevered though the presence of his daughter, Terri O'Doughan who he had became close friends with. Their friendship soon became romantic. The pair decided to escape Kenny and flee to Milwaukee. They moved into a small apartment with Craig working many small jobs to make enough money for food.
One day, Terri, still suffering with depression from childhood trauma, committed suicide, leaving a suicide note to Craig about her love for him and how she cherished their time spent together. Craig, distraught, jumped off a building, attempting to end his life as well, however he was resurrected by Deathurge, who Craig had not seen for several years. Craig attempted other methods of suicide, being revived by Deathurge each time, causing Craig to realise he was immortal. Craig pleaded Deathurge to let death take him, only for Deathurge to dismiss him and say if he did then Deathurge's deal with his mother would be broken, before disappearing again.
Becoming Mr. Immortal[]

Craig, with no ideas left, took his problem to the internet, creating a post online asking people what would they do if they were immortal.
Many answers where left, some saying to hide from the authorities due to the experiments they would perform, accumulate wealth, learn many languages, try to end it all before it drives you down into a mental break down, and to travel the world. Out of all the responses, Craig chose to act upon the post made my NoobMaster69, recommending Craig to become a superhero.
Craig donned a red and blue suit, created from clothes he found around his apartment and the second-hand shop, and named himself Mr. Immortal. On his first outing as superhero, he encountered the criminal Diamondhead who was robbing a jewellery store. Mr. Immortal ran up to him, however his body was immediately shattered by Diamondhead's strong punch and Mr. Immortal was left for dead.
Mr. Immortal noticed he needed a suicide pill of sorts, as he could help others after he had died and resurrected, but could not help others when he was severely injured and alive. He found online that suicide pills were abled to be locally bought from one of Kingpin's henchmen, Tony Consiglio. As Mr. Immortal was buying the pills, the hero Grasshopper appeared attempted to stop the trade. Tony, with pills in hand, fled the scene, while Mr Immortal and Grasshopper faced off.
Grasshopper kicked Mr. Immortal in the face accidently killing him. In shock what he had done, Grasshopper jumped away using his superhuman leaping, muttering to himself several insults. Revived, Mr. Immortal picked up the fallen suicide pills and dashed away, returning to his apartment.
Mr. Immortal, with his updated gear, set off to find and stop more criminals. Although he looked for hours, he couldn't seem to find any suspicious activity, until encountered Water Wizard hurriedly running atop a building. Mr. Immortal tried to chase him, but proved to be too slow, with the Comet capturing Water Wizard instead.
Double-edged luck[]
Distraught with no criminals captured, Mr. Immortal returned home and watched the television, where a documentary about Carl Burgess was on building a team. Mr. Immortal turned the television off and muttered about how no one would want to work with him and lost his last friend when Terri died. Suddenly, Deathurge appeared and asked if he had been forgotten. Out of options, Mr. Immortal asked Deathurge for advice. Deathurge stated that he knew were to find an enemy, taunting Mr. Immortal for a couple hours until he gave the location.
Soon Mr. Immortal arrived to meet Arimanes, a demon. Deathurge explained that this demon had forsaken Mephisto and had to be captured and returned to hell.
