History
I'm afraid that man is not the same one you knew and loved, Agent Morse, because whatever that thing is, it sucks @$$ at archery...
Early Years
Hawkeye, before before the Festering Fear infected him
Clinton "Clint" Barton was a former circus worker and criminal-turned-hero, who received his archery skills as a young boy through training with professional criminals Swordsman and Trickshot. Eventually wanting to redeem himself into better light, Barton would eventually get recruited by the peace-keeping agency S.H.I.E.L.D. and later formed the superhero team that were the Avengers in several battles that decided the fate of Earth, no single hero could handle in facing nor defeating. Around the time he joined S.H.I.E.L.D., he met and formed a romantic relationship with his fellow agent named Bobbi Morse who was also known by the codename of the Mockingbird, whom he later married, despite the times that their different missions had caused them to be separated from time to time. Along with it, Hawkeye was responsible for the recruitment of assassin turned agent Black Widow, whom he developed a strong friendship in the following years.
The Sickness
Almost a few months since the Chitauri-Skrull Attacks in New York has passed, Clint continued patrolling the city with his teammates along with his wife Mockingbird, who was currently stationed at the Triskelion since her loyalty was mostly with S.H.I.E.L.D. while Clint still had responsibilities as an Avenger at the Avengers Tower in Manhattan. However, his normal agent life went awry real quick when his teammate and best friend Black Widow began to feel and act strange since she last met Tony Stark, a wild behavior that driven her to attack Clint and the rest of her teammates. As a result, Captain America was painfully bitten before subduing her with Hawkeye's assistance, who handed his best friend into medical care and inspection after reluctantly knocking her out and restraining her. Clint tried to come to his best friend's aid and contact his wife about the incident out of concern, but duty suddenly called onto him when their teammate Bruce Banner was feeling just as unwell when he showed symptoms similar to rabies and other illnesses that induces aggressive behavior. Banner subsequently turned into the Hulk in hopes of counteracting the invasive pathogens that were entering his body, only to fail realizing that his attempt would only make things worse on a more catastrophic level.
Clint and Thor tried their best to knock him out and have him sedated, only to little avail as their battle ensues in the populous streets of New York City. Thankfully, the web-slinging hero Spider-Man Spider-Man and the Defenders had arrived at the scene just in time to help the two, a crucial contribution that got the Avengers to restrain the berserk of the Green Goliath. Unfortunate for the joint alliance who celebrated far too early, their efforts were proven to be short-lived when the weakened Hulk manages to bite off the forearm of Hawkeye, sending Clint to scream in great agony, both infecting him with whatever viral pathogen that the Hulk was carrying and giving the latter an opportunity to smash his way out as he continued his mayhem across Manhattan wherein his habits rapidly changed from simply infecting countless of bystanders, to tearing and consuming the fleshes of the living with his bare hands.
As days went on, the rest of the states across America became engulfed with the infected due to the Hulk's small yet significant cataclysm, including the unhinged Barton, who subconsciously call themselves as the collective "Festering Dreamers". Clint would eventually be "relieved" of his agonizing misery living as a Dreamer when he attacked his wife Mockingbird and the rest of her surviving S.H.I.E.L.D. teammates outside the Triskelion, but was stopped by the arrival of Nick Fury, who put several bullets through his body with a rifle. Much to his wife's surprise and dismay to witness her husband falter into the ground, dead, Fury defended himself and coldly tried to convince Bobbi that Clint was no longer himself, practically pointing out that he was already dead ever since he was infected and succumbed the Sickness.
