History[]

Early Years[]

Clinton Francis Barton (born February, 1979) was the second child of Harold and Edith Barton. Growing up Clint's family owned a Butcher Shop, that is until his father Harold who regularly drank and physically abused him, his mother, and his older brother Charles, died in a drunk driving accident. After which the shop his family owned fell into disarray and eventually he and his remaining family found themselves homeless. Once this happened Edith turned to petty thievery to support herself and her boys. Clint and his brother Charles often aiding their mother in stealing. Her having reasoned with them it was necessary since they were worse off than most people. A fact which Clint found himself accepting. That is until one day when his mother attempted to rob a gas station and the clerk on duty ended up aiming a rifle at her. One which she knocked out of his hands and Clint picked up. He was then told by his mother to shoot the clerk. But not having it within him to do so, despite his natural talent for marksmanship, Clint instead shot out a nearby window. Soon after the police arrived and arrested his mother. Leading him and Charles to be put into the foster system. Now truly orphans.

Road to Hawkeye[]

A few months after being put into the foster system Clint and Charles ran away, since they hated it. After this the two brothers lived in the streets, doing anything they could to survive. That is until one day they found themselves at a traveling circus known as Carson's Carnival, where one of its star performers, a man by the name of Jacques Duquesne took in interest in the bothers after happening to witness Clint display his natural marksmanship skills while playing one of the carnivals games. Once he did he approached them, then introduced them to his fellow carnival performer and friend, Buck Chisholm, the two of them then offering the brothers a place in the carnival and training to hone their natural marksmanship skills, Charles having similar skills to Clint. Though not as refined.

Instantly the brothers accepted Jacques and Chucks offer, and thus immediately began traveling with them and the Carnival. Doing odd jobs during the day, while training at night. Which went on for several years, until one day Clint discovered Jacques had been embezzling funds from the Carnival for years, and just like the incident with his mother at the gas station years earlier his conscience couldn't allow him to simply stand by. So with a heavy heart he turned in Jacques to the authorities. An act that destroyed whatever relationship was left with his brother, who had always blamed him for their mother's arrest years earlier. Faced with the rejection of the only family he had left Clint left Carson's Carnival. He then began employing his archery skills to win sports competitions to support himself. That is until the early 2000's where he found himself being approached by the then director of the international peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D. Nicholas Fury Jr. who admitted to have been watching Clint for some time, for he wanted to recruit him to be an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Which is an offer Clint accepted. Thus he joined S.H.I.E.L.D. and soon found himself with the codename Hawkeye for his incredible marksmanship.

Life as a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent[]

After joining S.H.I.E.L.D. Clint quickly worked his way up through the ranks, becoming one of the organizations most decorated agents, as well as one of Fury Jr. most trusted. Some of his feats including getting the most deadliest Black Widow operative the Red Room has ever produced, Natalia Romanova, to switch sides and begin working for S.H.I.E.L.D. He also began a romantic relationship with his fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Barbara "Bobbi" Morse, who went by the codename Mockingbird.

Becoming An Avenger[]

After several years of working for S.H.I.E.L.D. in 2010 Barton was trusted with the duty of watching over the powerful object known as the Tessaract, as it was being studied at the Joint Dark Energy Mission Facility in the Mojave Desert. Where he soon found himself brainwashed and under the command of the Asgardian prince Loki, who had come to take the item from S.H.I.E.L.D. and use it to bring an army known as the Chitauri to Earth, so he could conquer on behalf of his benefactor. Barton aiding him in this endeavor until he was freed from Loki's mind control and then worked with his fellow S.H.IE.L.D. agent Romanoff, Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, the married couple Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, Bruce Banner, and Loki's own brother Thor, to defeat him and the Chitauri, saving the world. After which he became a founding member of the superhero team known as the Avengers.

Clint then split his time between them and S.H.I.E.L.D., working to fight many different threats such as the rogue and homicidal AI Ultron, who launched a series of terrorists around the world, until the organizations momentary collapse in 2014 in the wake of the revival of the organization Hydra. Which Clint and his fellow Avengers began fighting as soon as they appeared. Through multiple avenues, such as Clint and his now wife Bobbi, whom married in the wake of World War X in 2013, working hand-in-hand with what remained of S.H.I.E.L.D. now led by then director Phillip Coulson.

Growing Family[]

After finding himself working with the new S.H.I.E.L.D. Clint grew slightly concerned after Coulson asked Bobbi to go undercover within Hydra, as well as the fact she was now working closely with her ex-boyfriend Lancelot Hunter, who was the leader of the team the E.D.I. sent to aide their S.H.I.E.L.D. allies in the fight against Hydra. Since they still believed in what remained of their sister organization. Expressing his doubts to his wife Bobbi reassured Clint everything would be fine and went ahead with infiltrating Hydra, which became a resounding success for the couple and their allies. Though it was slightly marred when Bobbi was kidnapped and then tortured by former S.H.I.E.L.D. and now known Hydra agents Grant Ward and Kara Palamas. Until Clint, who had teamed up with Lance Hunter, rescued her. Though for Clint things became even more dire when he discovered Bobbi was once again pregnant, having given birth to their first son Calling Barton in late 2013, and this time with twins. Who he learned might not pull through given the tortured she suffered at the hands of Ward and Palamas. But thankfully they did, giving Clint and Bobbi their second son and first daughter, whom they named Lewis and Lila Barton in 2015. Who were born only a month before the Ultimate Alliance War began.

As the war began Clint jumped right back into action, with Bobbi eventually joining him, leaving the care of their children to Bpbbi parents, all of whom were living on the couples off the grid farmstead in Iowa, which Clint and Bobbi secured years earlier after their relationship got serious. So they could have a private place away from any prying eyes to rest, relax, and raise a family, like they were now doing. A family that got even bigger when Clint and Bobbi fourth child, Lila Barton, was born in 2017. Who although they discovered was born deaf loved all the same. It was also after Lila birth that Clint began thinking of what remained of his own family, and so after talking things out with Bobbi, he tracked down his mother Edith after all the years of no-contact. The woman surprising Clint when she thanked for his actions all those years ago that got her sent to prison. For it was there she realized her actions involving him and his brother Charles in criminal activity was utterly wrong. This admission led to a true reunion between mother and son. Which only became even more of one after Edith contacted Charles and forced him to sit down with his brother and talk things out. Leading the Barton brothers to finally reconcile after years of estrangement. It also gave Clint even more to protect now in his role as a hero. A sentiment his wife Bobbi shared completely. That's why they both continued their duties as S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and Avengers.
