History

Quote1 I'd rather spend the rest of my life on this gut-wrenching planet and defend every breathing mortal, than spend an eternity as some immortal slothful queen on that besmirched dimension and do arbitrarily nil for my own people, just like you! Quote2
Clea

Early Years

Clea Earth-61615

Clea, dismayed at her restricted royal life as the destined heiress of the Dark Dimension

Clea (born late 1975 in Earth's Gregorian year) was a unknowingly powerful hybrid in the Dark Dimension, having been born of an affair between prince Orini leader and representative of the human-like Mhuruuks, the strongest challenger to ever succeed rulership over the dimension, and princess and de-facto empress Umar, the sister to then ruler, the monstrous and tyrannical Dormammu. Umar eventually became weary of her secretive relationship with Orini, and abandoned the newborn Clea to be raised by him to fulfill her duties as the dimension's queen and continue her royal Faltine life as it has always been. Raising and indoctrinating her into the anti-Faltinian teachings of the Mhuruuks, Prince Orini kept secret any and all knowledge of her own daughter's true origins, pushing her to grow into becoming the ideal succeeding leader of her people in building a dimension-wide revolt against Dormammu and his family's longtime reign on their home. However, the fate of Clea's reality just seemed to cruel as it was revealed that being the biological daughter of Umar naturally emits an exclusive mystical connection which sorcerers could detect through the use of dark magic, including her own mother who was infamously known as the most predominant witch to ever live in the Dark Dimension in this time. Unfortunately for Orini, it was inevitable for an adolescent Clea to be compelled by her innocence and curiosity and subsequently learn magic by secretly studying and training in the ways of sorcery with the intention of helping out her fellowmen and women in need, something that the Dark Dimension barely paid attention in taking action since its rulers were occupied with conquering worlds in different dimensions across the multiverse.

The Heiress

When Umar finally sensed the existence of her illegitimate progeny who recently became a novice practitioner of magic, it was too late for Orini to get his daughter way from the hands of the unrelenting conqueror as their home ended up becoming invaded by a battalion of the Mindless Ones summoned by Umar on behalf of Dormammu's dominion. It was on that day, Umar had met her daughter for the first time and unhesitatingly showed her the truth of her maternal lineage by unlocking her mind with the form of magic only beings like the two of them can truly wield and survive. With this revelation, Clea was distraught by the lies that were planted to her father, and her unstable state of emotion has only driven her to unleash chaos on the heart of her village in the form of the Flames of Regency, accidentally obliterating Orini and other natives to a critical extent. Umar couldn't be prouder to witness her daughter as she saw the powerful flames on her head, signifying her destiny to succeed rulership over the Dark Dimension, but Clea was greatly devastated by what she had just done as she reaches out to her dying father and apologizes to him from unbearable guilt. Even in his last breath, however, Orini showed his gesture of love for Clea, apologizing to her for raising her with white lies just to protect her from embracing her darker side.

Despite her pleas to Orini to stay strong while she tries to heal him with magic, the wounds already were proven to be fatal. Prince Orini took his last breath at the arms of his own beloved daughter, and the latter couldn't help but mourn for her tragic loss. Despite how saddening the scene was for the village seeing the passing of their prince, a deceitful Umar took advantage over the grieving Clea as she took her into her royal palace; only now has she shamelessly raised Clea as her own in spite of the fact that she had abandoned her the moment she gave birth to her. Knowing how dangerous her mother could be, Clea pleaded to Umar to spare the Mhuruuk village and only then she would agree to come with her to live and reside in the palace from that point on forward. Her mother arrogantly agreed simply since she now knows that her daughter was undoubtedly the heiress to the throne, having the Flames of Regency in her blood, but still tries to be a mother figure that she aspires to be: a disciplined yet still caring one, as a way to try and make up for the years when she wasn't there for Clea. As her life with the Mhuruuks have ended, her royal life with the Faltine family began. Clea was very welcomed by the palace, mainly for the wrong, shallow, and royalty-related reasons.

Earthly Escapade

Eventually deciding to utilize her knowledge of different types of magic into actual use in an attempt to escape her restricted royal life as a mere heiress, Clea conjured different spells in the most chaotic manner that she could to distract everyone at the palace long enough for her to construct a sling ring and create a portal onto a place far from the Faltine palace and the Dark Dimension itself, something that she envisioned in her mind as the ideal paradise. Taking her first steps on Earth at New York's Central Park, the adventurous Clea had felt and experienced an overwhelming spectrum of emotions and senses on the blue planet that she had never felt in the Dark Dimension for a long while or at all, until this moment. The simple smell of flowers, the taste of eating cookies, the feeling of lying down in the grassy fields, and the euphoric experience of having to watch a family cherish their time together at the park; Clea quickly fell in love with Earth, at least the best aspects of it when she first arrived there.

It was not long after when Clea's presence on the earthly realm was detected by the Masters of the Mystic Arts, Earth's mystic defenders, who felt the strange presence of Dark Dimension outside the Mirror Dimension. Knowing that her presence alone is endangering the planet from the likes of Dormammu, Clea was chased and confronted by masters of mystic artists led by Wong. Clea was overconfident at first thinking that her innate powers as the heiress of the throne would give their the advantage over the Terran sorcerers, only failing to realizing that her the level of her powers relatively wane on other dimensions along with her lack of experience was her downfall. She was taken in question by the newly-appointed Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Stephen Strange, whom Clea and her family had known him as the Earthling who bested Dormammu when he was still a novice, through the memorable bargain of Strange using the Eye of Agamotto.

In the name of her fellow familial line of conquerors, Umar had long sought to conquer Earth during her quest to retrieve Clea, in hopes of accomplishing what his brother has failed to do, as a result, had cross paths with Strange and the Masters of the Mystic Arts. Despite this cruel reality, it never stopped Clea and Strange from eventually forming a spark of romance with each other; as Strange was the first and only sorcerer who was willing to help her break her mystical bonds with her mother and the rest of her Faltine family, especially her more powerful uncle Dormammu, despite the rest of the Master of Mystic Arts' traditional and dogmatic viewpoint against anything or anyone who is related to the Dark Dimension. Feeling grateful yet guilty for Strange's courage to help an outsider like her, Clea was inspired to help out the Masters of the Mystic Arts defeat her mother in the way she could without having her presence or gestures threaten Earth because of her unearthly nature. Their alliance has led them to victory, and as an act of gratitude for their selflessness in successfully her mystical bonds with her Faltine family and the Dark Dimension, Clea took oath in joining the ranks of the mystic arts to better harness and stabilize her utilization in sorcery and hopefully return to her home to liberate her people from her maternal family's reign of terror.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

Faltine/Mhuruuk Physiology: Born as a hybrid, Clea is half-Faltinian and half Dark Dimension mortal, specifically a Mhuruuk (a race that closely resembles the culture and appearance of Earth's humans), and can naturally fly and hover. Clea has become the Sorceress Supreme of the Dark Dimension, possessing vast magical powers. She has exhibited such abilities as forming and throwing magical bolts of energy, conjuring objects and energies, teleporting, telekinesis, controlling others’ minds, and casting illusions. She is capable of replicating any spell performed by her former mentors at the Masters of Mystic Arts. Clea can tap into various mystical forces by petitioning other-dimensional entities for aid, relying on her own mystic talents, and manipulating various mystic forces of both the prime universe and the Dark Dimension. Her powers increase and decrease based on either her peace/conflict with herself, her energy levels, her current condition, and her connection to her environment. Clea's mystic powers were greatest when she wore the Flames of Regency, the sign of the true ruler of the Dark Dimension which is reinforced by the denizens of the Dark Dimension believing in their ruler and weakens when that belief does so. Clea's powers have at times been shown to be greater in the Dark Dimension than they are on Earth. As she is descended from the Faltine race of beings, it is suggested that can generate her own mystical energy like Umar and Dormammu and draw upon it to fuel her magic. Clea possesses tremendous magical power as a member of the Faltine race, although she is less experienced than the others.
