Early Life

Carolyn Elizabeth Danvers was born in Lexington, Kentucky, the second of the Danvers quadruplets to Marie Danvers (né Hatchett) and Jack Danvers, Jr. She along with her two brothers, Dustin and Jack "Rusty" Danvers III, and sister Annalisa Danvers lived in the outskirts of the city while her mother worked as a nurse and her father served in the military. Carol looked up to her father because of his years in being in the Marines at the same time, she would look at the sky, dreaming of wanting to fly. As she reached to her early adult years, Carol was enlisted in the United States Navy where she was qualified as a pilot. She was approached by the aerobatic team, the Blue Angels after watching her fly and offered her a spot after their previous member was forced to quit and Carol happily agrees.

But one day, Fleet Week was coming up and the Blue Angels were scheduled to perform. Carol was rehearsing the performance with her team until her jet began to malfunction, causing one of her engines to explode. She tried to press the eject button inside her cockpit but her controls weren't working, resulting in her plane crashing into a massive fireball. The accident alerted the rest of the Navy and they located the crash site. Inside, Carol was caught in the crossfire and twisted metal, severely injured and in the brink of dying. However, a mysterious figure emerges from the flames and Carol blacks out.

The Birth of Marvelette

Carol wakes up to find herself in a strange large room. She tried to call out her teammates but there was no response from any of them. Fear and confusion began to plague her mind as she wondered what had happened and before she could try to leave, she was approached by a Kree soldier named Jon-Zedd who tells her that he had brought her to Hala. Carol didn't believe him at first but when she looked out the window, she realized that she was in another planet and she demanded Jon-Zedd and explanation on why he took her from Earth. He tells her that he had witnessed the crash and he saw her in the brink of death, forcing him to take her out of the planet and had to talk some of his fellow Kree in transfusing Kree blood into her in order to save her life.

As he was going to protest, Carol began feel her body emit a solar-like glow, bringing shock within her. She asked Jon-Zedd what was going on with her and he informs her that she had inherited cosmic-based powers from the blood of a Kree who was exposed to the energy of a cosmic artifact called the Tesseract during a battle with an enemy alien invasion. He even agreed in help train her to use her powers but Carol still wanted to go back to Earth and reunite with her family. Jon-Zedd told her that she will be able to reunite with her loved ones once she regained her strength. Seeing it as a promise, Carol stayed on Hala which lasted five years and she finally embraces herself as a half-human and half-Kree. As Jon-Zedd promised her, she finally returns to Earth with the Kree telling her that he was coming with her. Once she returns, Carol stopped herself and turned to Jon-Zedd, telling him that she had second thoughts in reuniting with her family as she began realize that after the crash, her family and friends of the Navy believed that she was already dead and she decided not to see them and move on with her life. Jon-Zedd accepted this and tells her that he will always help her when she needs it.

The Avengers

As she and Jon-Zedd settle down on Earth, they relocated in New York City where they were surrounded by a dark elite team called the Black Order formerly led by Thanos who was defeated by Starbolt after he regained his powers that were from the Chroma Stone. Filled with revenge, the Black Order summoned a large horde to bring an end to the Earth. Carol watched all of the citizens become victims of their genocidal rampage and feared that her loved ones will become their victims. With 5 years of training in Hala, she jumps in battle against the Black Order with the assistance of Jon-Zedd and it didn't take long for the Avengers to show up in battle only for them witness Carol take on the Black Order with ease. This brought the attention of Kree superhero, Captain Marvel. It didn't take long to force the Black Order to retreat after defeat and Carol was approached by the Avengers. After hearing about her becoming half-Kree and getting her powers which saved her life, Carol was offered to join the team in which she accepted along with Jon-Zedd, earning her the name Marvelette from Captain Marvel himself.

Present Day

Since her recruit in being part of the Avengers, Carol had visited Hala every year while she began to fight under the mentorship of Captain Marvel who tells her about the Kree-Skrull War. At the same time, she had reunited with her brother, Rusty, rekindling their relationship and Carol telling him not to tell the rest of the family that she is still alive which he promised. Also, Carol came out that she was a lesbian and she meets mutant Warhead and starts a romantic relationship with her after meeting the New Mutants.
