I was tired of this disease. I tried to kill myself. I shot a bullet in my mouth. You can guess what happened next. The big guy shot it out. He shouted a roar so loud that it caused an avalanche.

History[]
Bruce Banner was born in Dayton, Ohio. He was born to David and Rebecca Banner. One day, he was five years old. He experienced his mom dying at the hands of his father. His father had gave Bruce up for adoption. Bruce's uncle, Brian adopted him and introduced him to his cousin, Jennifer. Years later, Bruce was a teacher and scientist at Culver University. He and a woman named Betty were experimenting on gamma radiation. Bruce wanted to add gamma radiation to the experiment he was working on. He wanted to recreate the Super-Soldier Serum by using the Erskine Formula he copied and rewrote. He had completed his work but was afraid he was not gonna receive credit. To keep the credit, he wanted to test the serum on himself, but it went wrong. He had tested the serum but in an malfunction, the gamma he was gonna use for later exploded and affected him when he took the serum turning him into the Hulk.

When he transformed, he caused serious damage to the university lab and hurt Betty in the process. After realizing he hurt his love, he left the university and went to Brazil to hide from Betty's father, General Ross, who wanted Bruce's recreation of the serum for himself. He was quickly found by a military team led by Emil Blonsky. Bruce ran away quickly but was found in a drink factory. He couldn't take it anymore and decided to let the Hulk take over and get rid of the enemies quickly. Half of the team died facing Hulk. Another half survived including Blonsky. Hulk had ran across the country and finally transformed back in Venezuela. When he got back to America, he reunited with Betty. He had a plan to free himself from the curse of the Hulk with the help of Samuel Sterns. After the test, Banner was apprehended by the government. Not long after, Blonsky dosed himself with Gamma Radiation and turned himself into the Abomination, causing destruction near Harlem. Ross had no choice but to release Bruce and let him fight Blonsky again. Blonsky fought hard, but in the end, lost the fight and was sent to prison. After the fight, Bruce disappeared and settled in Canada. Locals spotted Hulk and identified him as a "Green Sasquatch." Eventually, he would settle in South America again.
The Avengers Initiative[]
Finding Bruce Banner[]
A few years later, in 2012, Bruce had left South America to go treat hunger, famine, and poverty-ridden countries across the world. Meanwhile, Nick Fury, the current director of SHIELD recruited fellow agent Black Widow to recruit Bruce for the Avengers. In Calcutta, Bruce was approached by a girl who claimed that her parents were sick. He followed her to the edge of the city where the girl made her quick escape. To Banner's surprise, he was approached by Black Widow, who asked him to join the Avengers. Bruce asked if she was here to kill him. She said no. Suspicious, Banner assumed that the building was surrounded by agents.
She then tells him that he is needed to find a special artifact called the Tesseract that emits a gamma radiation, in which Bruce is familiar with. She shows him an image of the Tesseract and he asked if Fury wants him to swallow it, but Romanoff claimed that Fury needs him to find it. Banner remained doubtful of Fury's intentions, and then asked if Fury needed him in a cage, Romanoff remarked that he didn't need him in a cage, in which Banner yells in a fit of rage, in which Romanoff responds by pulling out her firearm. Banner quickly apologizes, and agrees to help SHIELD find the Tesseract.

Hulk (circa 2014)
Upon arriving on the Helicarrier, Banner meets Captain America, and remarks how amazed he is to see him alive. Banner also meets Tony Stark, who is also Iron Man. Stark compliments Banner on how he likes when he turns into a "giant rage monster." Nonetheless, Banner starts to track the Tesseract in the Research Lab.
Capturing Loki[]
When a distress signal pinged on the radar, Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow headed out to Germany to apprehend Loki. They captured him, only for them to cross paths with Loki's brother, Thor. After the fight between Thor and Iron Man, Thor agreed joined them to find the Tesseract.
Loki's Escape[]
A few hours later, Loki was put in the detention cell, while the Avengers study his scepter and the stone inside it. While that happens, a Quinjet came into view. The bay doors opened, and the people inside were none other than Hawkeye and a few other agents Loki possessed earlier.
