Blackagar Boltagon, or more widely recognized by the moniker of Black Bolt, is an extremely powerful Inhuman whose voice alone is capable of destroying entire cities. He stood as the head of the Royal Family of Attilan and King of the Inhumans for many years, though he also served as a member of the secretive Illuminati. He was the first-born son of King Agon and Queen Rynda, the elder brother of Prince Maximus, and the husband of Queen Medusalith.
During Thanos' Invasion of Earth, Black Bolt's desperate attempt to stop the Mad Titan resulted in the fall of Attilan and the uncontrolled spread of Terrigen Mist across Earth, causing great strife. For this, the Midnight King abdicated his throne and went into self-imposed exile but when tragedy struck his estranged family, he returned to lead the Inhumans once again, no longer as a king but as a general in the Terrigen War against the armies of Cyclops and Magneto.
