History
Dar-Em is the son of Jeq-Em and Dal Kir-Ta. A short time before the destruction of the planet Krypton, The Collector sent his deadly probes to Kandor to wreak destruction and to kidnap a few Kryptonians for his collection, for he knew that Krypton would fall. Jeq-Vay-Em had sent his son away in a rocket so that their son might survive. Jeq-Vay-Em's wife Dal Kir-Ta had heard rumors that a scientist claimed Krpyton was dying, they were making more ships but the Collector attacked. Dal Kir-Ta
was taken and Jeq-Em was killed defending the city. Dar-Em's rocket landed on Earth in a place called Wakanda.He was found by King T'Chaka and his wife Queen Ramonda. He was given the name "T'challa" and adopted as their son. His sister Shuri would be born 14 years later.
Early years
T'Challa was taught the properties of Vibranium when he was still a kid, and his lessons in royal duty began at age five. T'Challa was considerably stronger than other children at an early age. Ramonda noticed his strength the day she brought him home. He was taught in combat and Wakandan Martial Art. He developed super-speed around age six. As the prince, T'Challa was next in line to inherit the mantle of the Black Panther, a mantle that passed through every generation of Wakandan rulers.
When T'Challa was 14, he knew that he was adopted, but he seriously began to question his strange powers and confronted his parents, demanding answers, he was sent on the Wakandan rite of passage to roam the land. He started to develop his abilities, use his powers by finally going outdoors and trying to fly, he falls into a tree.
He saved a young orphan girl named Ororo Munroe from kidnappers by using his heat vision for the first time, breaking her cage and free her from ropes.
The girl used her mutant powers to control the weather to take out the same would-be kidnappers and killers when they came for him. The pair shared a romance and spent much time together, however, T'Challa's duties as a prince prevented them from further exploring their burgeoning mutual attraction.
Powers and Abilities
Powers
Kryptonian Physiology: Under the effects of a yellow sun, Dar-Em possesses the same potential powers as an average Kryptonian. These include:
- Solar Energy Absorption: Under optimal conditions, this is the main source of Dar-Em's super powers as they are contingent upon exposure to solar radiation from a yellow sun star system. His biological make up includes a number of organs which lack analogues in humans and whose functions are unknown. It is believed that between one or more of these and his bio-cellular matrix, "yellow" solar energy is stored for later use. This allows for the use of these powers to fade when yellow solar radiation is not available instead of immediate failure. He can also absorb other solar energy from other stars, expect red and green.
- Cosmic Energy Absorption: Dar's solar receptors can also absorb solar energy from cosmic energy.
- Superhuman Strength:
- Superhuman Speed: Dar-Em is able to move at incredible speed by sheer force of will. This extends to his perceptions and allows for feats such as catching bullets in mid flight as well as covering vast distances in little or no time. Dar can move so fast that time slows from his perspective, long enough to have an entire conversation in just a few seconds.
- Molecular Acceleration: Dar can vibrate his molecular structure to achieve various effects.
- Vortex Creations: Dar can use his speed to manipulate airflow for various purposes. He was able to use his flight speed to funnel a toxic chemical out of the atmosphere and into space.
- Superhuman Agility: Dar's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to superhuman levels. This allows him to easily make sharp turns and easily maneuver while flying and moving at superhuman speed.
- Superhuman Reflexes: Dar possesses reflexes far greater than any normal human being. This allows him to easily react to danger and events, and perceive the world in slow motion. His mind is able to process information at such speeds that he can perceive femtoseconds and attoseconds.
- Superhuman Stamina: Dar is able to maintain continuous strenuous physical action for an indefinite period of time. This based on his body converting yellow solar radiation directly to energy, but is limited by physiological and psychological needs to eat, drink and sleep.
- Superhuman Senses: All of Dar's senses are enhanced to superhuman levels, allowing him to perceive the world in far greater detail than the average human.
- Super-Vision: Dar's vision processes the entire electromagnetic spectrum as well as allowing vast control over selective perception and focus. This umbrella ability includes the following:
- Electromagnetic Spectrum Vision: Dar can see well into most of the electromagnetic spectrum. He can see and identify radio and television signals as well as all other broadcast or transmitted frequencies. Using this ability, he can avoid detection by radar or satellite monitoring methods. This also allows him to see the aura generated by living things.
- Infrared Vision: Dar can see with better acuity in darkness, and to a degree in total darkness.
- Microscopic Vision: This is the ability to see extremely small objects and images down to the atomic level.
- Telescopic Vision: This is the ability to see something at a great distance, without violating the laws of physics. Though limited, the exact extent of the ability is undetermined. In function, it is similar to the zoom lens on a camera.
- X-Ray Vision: By focusing his vision, Dar can see through any volume of matter, except lead. He can see things behind a solid, opaque object as if it were not there and can focus this ability to "peel back" layers of an object, allowing hidden image or inner workings to be observed. Dar's enemies have attempted to use lead to hide things from his vision, mistakenly believing that anything with that material is somehow invisible to him. On the contrary, lead's opaqueness to his X-ray vision makes the material easy to spot with a wide-angle scan and allows Dar to narrow his search to those opaque objects. He can even use intensify his X-Ray vision to the extent that he could use it at a Gamma level to short out a Space Station's electrical engine.
- Heat Vision: Dar can, as a conscious act, fire beams of intense heat at a target by looking at it. He can vary the heat and area affected.
- Super-Hearing: Dar's hearing is sensitive enough to hear any sound at any volume or pitch. With skill and concentration, he can block out ambient sounds to focus on a specific source or frequency.
- Flight: Dar is able to manipulate graviton particles to defy the forces of gravity and achieve flight. This ranges from hovering to moving in any posture, in any direction. He capable of flying at above supersonic and hypersonic speeds. He rarely uses it and likes to run.
- Super Flare: Dar's last resort power that he'd discovered through his heat vision, was the ability to immediately expel all of his stored solar energy in one gigantic burst of explosive force. This Solar Flare uses all the stored energy within his cells at once, allowing for an all-out AoE attack. He cannot use it more than once or twice however, as it drains him of all his powers until he can recharge his cells with solar energy. Give or take 24 hours, in that expanse of time, he is rendered virtually human and vulnerable. Luckily he learned to keep his flares smaller and more contained, so that it doesn't take as long for his powers to come back.
- Interstellar Travel: Dar is immune to the nature of space and is not inhibited by its lack of gravity. He can travel the reaches of space where no human body could possibly survive without the aid of technology or protection.
- Invulnerability: Due to the interaction of his dense molecular structure and supercharged bio-electric aura, Dar is nigh-invulnerable to extreme energy forces. In addition, his extends this protection against toxins and diseases.
- Longevity: Dar-Em can live longer than regular humans, even without the light of the yellow sun, he remaining at his prime as long as he was under the exposure of the "yellow" sun.
- Super-Breath: Dar is able to create hurricane force winds by exhaling air from his lungs. He can chill the air as it leaves his lungs to freeze targets. He can also reverse the process to pull large volumes of air or vapor into his lungs.
- Self-Sustenance: Dar doesn't need to eat or sleep so long as he has enough solar energy (but is still capable of doing so) and doesn't require oxygen to breathe.
Divine Empowerment: Dar-Em was given additional powers by the Goddess Bast and the Heart-Shaped Herb when he became the King of the Dead and Black Panther.
- Black Panther Knowledge: After being crowned "King of the Dead," Dar-Em has the power to draw all the knowledge, strength, and every experience from every previous Black Panther.
- King of the Dead: As King of the Dead, Dar-Em possesses other powers as listed below:
- Necromancy: Dar-Em is able to take command of the dead itself. He was able to take control of an entire army of zombies and order the spirits of the Necropolis to aid him in his fight with Tetu.
- Spirit Energy Constructs: Dar-Em learned he could create weapons out of spiritual force through his title as King of the Dead. Creating a spear out of ectoplasmic energy with which to affect both the material and ethereal planes.
- Hyper-Cosmic Awareness: Dar-Em possesses the ability to sense & comprehend things on levels that far exceed human capabilities. He can perceive different sensory spectra beyond the regular norm.
- Telekinesis:
- Regenerative Healing Factor: After becoming an avatar of Bast, he gain a healing factor that works even without his Kryptonian powers.
- Telepathy immunity: He is immune to most forms of telepathic powers.

Weaknesses
Kryptonian Physiology: Under the effects of a "yellow" sun, Dar-Em possesses the same potential weaknesses as an average Kryptonian. These include:
- Vulnerability to Kryptonite:

- Solar Energy Dependency: Kryptonian abilities will eventually weaken without replenishing their energy reserves with normal (yellow) sun radiation. When exposed to the same red solar radiation as Krypton's red sun Rao, it causes Kryptonians to lose their powers within a large amount of exposure until exposure to yellow sunlight reverses this effect. When exposed to orange solar radiation from a different galaxy, Dar's strength and abilities will drastically diminished, eventually weakening him. The radiation also affects his intellectual capacity and reduces his ability to think.
- Sensory Overload: Dar's superhumanly acute senses, bright lights, loud noises, & strong smells can potentially overwhelm him.
