Ciaran McCoy is the older brother of She-Beast / Francesca McCoy and one of three sons of Hank McCoy and Cecilia Reyes who adopted the code name "Beast Lad" from an alternate variant of Reality from the mutant group GeNext where time passes at the same speed as the real world and for the X-Men have been more than 58 years since their reunion in 1963 with the team originally formed by Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, Archangel, Phoenix, Polaris and Havok and the subsequent changes they have undergone with the formation of the new mutant team formed by Colossus, Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Thunderbird, Sunfire, Banshee to rescue the original team of X-Men from Krakoa's Living Island beyond forming new teams mutants like the New Mutants, X-Force, X-Factor, and Generation X he as his little sister has a superbly gifted intellect beyond having undergone feline beastly mutations slightly similar to what his father did when he was Blue Leonine Beast . He and his sister She-Beast joined the GeNext group at the same time, forming a pair of "Beasts" that complete each other perfectly in the missions. Ciaran is as irreverent and playful as his father when he was a member of the Avengers but like him he is a genius who seeks to use his bestial powers and brilliant intellect combined. He and his sister are often competing to prove who's smarter and shrewd all the time, but they're closer than anyone else in the fights.
Ciaran has a slightly more brawler fighting style than his younger sister while She-Beast is more subtle he is more adept at direct "short and thick" approaches even so when possible always seeks to resolve using his intellect and reason instead of pure brutality.
