History
Not much is known about the history of the original Avengers team, but it can be assumed that it followed much of the same path as it's Earth-616 counterpart.
Onslaught
When the psionic monster Onslaught attacked New York City, the Avengers tried to stop him. Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, and Scarlet Witch were the only ones who survived. With the deaths of several members of the team on their minds, the remaining five thought it would be best to disband the team. Tony Stark gave Edwin Jarvis the task to maintain Avengers Compound. A new team was formed in their place, but it didn't even last a year.
New Avengers
Eleven years after the dissolution of the original team, the Asgardian God of Mischief, Loki, led an army of Asgardian trolls through Avengers Compound in hopes of finding the Thunderstrike mace. However, he saw opposition from six of the city's current super heroes at the time; Mainframe, American Dream, J2, Stinger, Spider-Girl, and the new Spider-Man. Kevin Masterson, son of the original Thunderstrike, was trapped in the Compound, and was taken hostage alongside the heroes when they tried to stop Loki. Eventually, Spider-Man and Kevin managed to work up an escape plan, which resulted in not only freeing the heroes, but also transforming Kevin into the new Thunderstrike. Loki retreated, and the heroes escaped. Afterwards, Mainframe offered his six allies a chance to restart the Avengers. They accepted, and thus, the new Avengers were born.
Encounter With the Gasmaster
When a villain known as the Gasmaster kidnapped Spider-Man and held him "hostage", the Avengers broke into his warehouse and were about to beat the helpless teenager, but Spider-Man protected him, stating that there was no need to beat on a confused, depressed teenager.
Age of Infinity
When the Avengers were requested by the U.S. government to look into a series of bombings going on in the Middle East and in Russia, the team investigated. However, what they found was that Ultron (its subconscious transferred into a new body and redubbed Ultron Infinity) was planning to use the Russian city of Sokovia as a battering ram to wipe out humanity. After a battle with Ultron's army, the Avengers would finally destroy the robot when Thunderstrike, J2, and Mainframe tore out its internal wiring, with Spider-Man holding the mechanoid down with his webbing.
