History

Tony Stark became Iron Man after being kidnapped by the terrorist organization known as the Ten Rings. Quickly gaining worldwide fame as a superhero, he was a founding member of the Avengers who later turned over leadership to Captain America.

He fought in the charge against Thanos during his hunt for the Infinity Stones, which eventually resulted in him becoming paralyzed from the neck down, barely able to move his arms. While Thanos went on to enslave several other heroes, he left Tony Stark's mind intact simply so that he could suffer in his broken body.

But Tony refused to suffer. He banded together with the other survivors of Thanos's wrath and began operating out of a fallen Helicarrier, which gave birth to the Resistance. While others, including Tony's wife, Pepper, put their lives on the frontline fighting against Thanos and the Black Order, Tony leads them from behind the scenes, sending them on various missions across the Earth to undermine Thanos's rule.

During the assault on Thanos after he claimed all six Stones, Tony was forced to watch his best friend, War Machine, crushed by his very own armor due to the Space Stone's telekinetic ability. It was that day that he swore to never build another suit of armor, until his wife Pepper convinced him to make one for her so that she could help save lives across the Earth.
Tony is one of the only Resistance members who has not given up on restoring the minds of their brainwashed teammates, like Captain Hydra and Black Marvel.
