Early Years
The entity-like being named Hive was a human formerly known by the name Alveus, a Mayan hunter and gatherer who was captured and subjected to experimentation by the Kree when its Void Science Navy arrived on Earth. Said tormenting experiments turned him into a parasitic Inhuman through Terrigenesis, and his powers made him capable of infesting and possessing human corpses and controlling other Inhumans through a hive mind, coercing them to serve him. When the Kree saw the abomination that they made, they were guiltridden and strove to do whatever it took to execute the parasitic Inhuman and those who fell under his influence.
Unfortunately for them, they were no match for their own creation, as Alveus had united his army of Inhumans to force the Kree faction off the planet and declare their experiments on humans as a failure, with Hive and his society of Inhumans claiming the Earth as theirs for the taking. Due to the immense power Hive possessed, along with some of the Kree technology that was abandoned on Earth, it became consumed by its thirst for power as it let its fellow Inhumans invade its former home that was part of the Mayan civilization, slaying those who weren't Inhumans or willing to become one through his offer to put them under Terrigenesis. Destroying the tribal villages of the Mayan people and turning them into something that more suited their innate preference as one "nation," Hive became the god of the first Inhumans without needing to coerce them to praise and worship him as one.

However, some of its fellow Inhumans grew so fearful of Hive that a secretive society of Inhuman families dedicated themselves to leaving Earth and starting life anew on the Moon using Kree tech they stole from Hive's property. Those who remained on Earth to fight Hive had to ally themselves with humans who despised the Inhuman deity, and started a mutiny; successfully banishing it to another world through the use of a portal built by the mutiny's greatest minds. However, despite its banishment, Hive's loyal followers, both human and Inhuman, still believed that it was Hive's destiny to rule the world and bring the Inhumans, driving them to organize a secret society with the purpose to return their leader to Earth. Over the centuries, the surviving society of its loyalists would evolve into the more paramilitary-like and terrorist organization known as Hydra, which was saved from obscurity by Nazi general Johann Schmidt, who was also hellbent on achieving world order and domination during World War II, albeit at the cost of most of its' future followers forgetting the true purpose of the society during the ancient times. Moreover, Hive's legacy would also live on through some of his teachings being taken in by the group of Inhumans who'd settled in the Nepalese location that would be called the Afterlife, revering him as some god despite believing that his return was slim to none since his interplanetary exile on Maveth.
Hive was revealed to have been banished to the planet Maveth, home to a socially and technologically-advanced civilization, and was believed to have once been the most peaceful and beautiful paradise throughout its local star system. However, due to Hive's insatiable hunger to rule and consume anything it considered to be impure, it used its powers on the native species to render the planet a desolate wasteland. Throughout its time on Maveth, Hive had engulfed the first cities it had found once it discovered it could transform into a sandstorm or cloud of parasites (due to Maveth's far denser atmosphere compared to Earth), before finishing off the rest of the planet's population in a matter of six months. While the planet's technology was considered far superior to Earth, its diplomatic history of dismantling any weaponry throughout the planet after achieving world peace led to its own downfall at the hands of Hive. For centuries, Hive turned Maveth into a graveyard planet, building structures out of the bones of every native on Maveth it had consumed, and absorbed their innate superhuman abilities into itself, gaining both the powers of Maveth's people and knowledge of the planet's history as centuries went by. Using its victim's scientific knowledge, Hive was able to build a portal that would help itself get back to Earth, only to find out that the vibrational frequency between Earth and Maveth was too low since the latter was millions of light years away from the other planet.
Throughout centuries, hundreds of people were sent to the planet by Hydra through the Monolith as ritualistic sacrifices, meeting their deaths at the hands of Hive and becoming vessels so that Hive could absorb their Earthly knowledge, sparing him from the decay of time while Hive awaited the day of his return. Hive's wait finally come to an end when a faction of Hydra led by Grant Ward helped Hive reactivate the portal, which Hive was able to connect to the portal it had made centuries ago. Due to Ward's unexpected death at the hands of S.H.I.E.L.D. co-director Phil Coulson, who came to Maveth to stop him, Hive nevertheless possessed Ward's corpse and was able to return to Earth once more before the portal could closed, originally deceiving its enemies as Ward before revealing its return to its modern successors and loyal followers.
Reclaiming Its Throne
Regaining Followership
Working alongside the remaining leaders of Hydra's fragments, Hive recovered its true strength in numbers as he was granted an Inhuman army, which included Jiaying's Afterlife and even Quake among many more. Hive had Hydra's help, as Hive had ironically taken control over Hydra from the Secret Council (Madame Hydra, Baron von Strucker, and Viper), showing his malevolent nature by murdering Madame Hydra in cold blood, just to prove its point that the Hydra of modern day became weak without its' guidance. With Hydra once more in its' grasp, Hive aimed to take back the world, a world wherein its modern heroes had only just rekindled from their own conflict in response to a larger threat (the Skrulls' Secret Invasion), not knowing there was another that also surfaced on their recovering planet right afterwards.
Reaping his Creators
While most of Earth's heroes were dealing with the aftermath of the Secret Invasion on the surface, Hive and its team were on the move in the shadows to recreate the original experiment the Kree performed on him thousands of years ago. It would allow ordinary humans to undergo a second Terrigenesis, and they planned to distribute this pathogen globally using some of Stark Industries' Jericho missiles. Once Hive's unwilling accomplice, Dr. Holden Radcliffe believed he has perfectly replicated the original experiment, Hive chose the remaining members of Hydra's inner circle to be the first subjected to it. The experiment failed, killing the test subjects in the process. Dr. Radcliffe learned that the experiment failed due to humans having insufficient Kree DNA in their bodies.
Instead, what he needed was the DNA of a real Kree, so Hive tracked down and activated an Omni-Wave Projector from the blueprints of Attilan technology, which summoned a group of Kree Reapers to the Earth, led by Ronan the Accuser. The reapers vanquished some of Hive's Inhumans, though the ones who remained fought back viciously, leaving only Ronan alive to deal with the matter. Hive fought Ronan in a fair match, who deemed the Inhumans as "failed experiments," although it was Hive's vengeful spirit towards its hateful creators that lent it the upper hand against the Accuser. Berating Ronan for being "impure" due to his cybernetic enhancements, Hive spared him as a living trophy and drained the blood of the dead Kree Reapers, also harvesting some of their organs which were vital to the creation of Hive's virus to modify the Terrigen Mists.
Defeat and Death
In the following days, Hive proved to be the strongest Inhuman on the surface of the Earth, until it met its match in the form of the reluctant alliance between S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Secret Warriors, Hydra's surviving leaders, and the Inhuman Royal Family, including Maximus who betrayed Hive in the end as well as Hive's own right-hand woman, Jiaying, who defected in order to save her daughter Quake by removing her from Hive's thrall. In the face of defeat, the lone Hive attempted to complete its' ultimate plan's last step by detonating a few Jericho missiles filled with Terrigen Mists into the Earth's atmosphere while riding a Quinjet, only for the entire jet to be blown up by an enraged Black Bolt's quasi-sonic scream, wherein the floating remains of Alveus were slowly yet surely incinerated as they got closer and closer to the sun, finally killing the Inhuman god. Hive, the god of the Inhumans, and its "magnificent" vision, finally died at the hands of its own people, albeit at the cost of notable casualties. These included the remaining Inhumans of the Afterlife, including Jiaying, who still fought to their last breath despite being coerced into working with Hive, whom they revered as their god before fatally snapping out of their delusions.

Powers
Inhomo Supremis Physiology: Hive is one of, if not the, first successful Inhuman, and was even potentially classified Super-Inhuman by the Kree, which immediately achieved its genetic potential after undergoing Terrigenesis, granting it incredible superhuman powers. The transformation was physical, arguably the most drastic physical change ever seen in an Inhuman as it transitioned from a human to a parasitic superorganism composed of innumerable individual parasites. Hive's Terrigenesis transformed it into a parasitic life form capable of inhabiting and infesting human corpses and using them as vessels for which it can perform basic actions and slow the natural decomposition of its deceased host.

Trivia
- Hive intrinsically bears a hatred for any race of human that isn't Inhuman, including Mutants, which Hive saw as a rival race that could endanger the lives of the Inhuman race and drive them into extinction due to the natural selection on Earth which drastically changed with the rise of superhumans.
- Hive was thought to be the most powerful Inhuman to have ever existed due to his extensive classification as a Super-Inhuman, right until the deity-like figure itself was killed by Black Bolt when its final humanoid form tried to escape following its defeat by S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Secret Warriors.
