History
I'm always keen towards improvement, all for the betterment of our kind... Unfortunately... Even someone so powerful and so wise like you seem to lack it, just like the rest of them... Cowards...

Early Years
Hard-Drive (born Althea Shapandar) was a hyper-intelligence-based, cybernetically-enhanced, female mutant with an unclear early life and origin, though her unknown but tragic origin was enough to make her continuously search for a perfect opportunity to get her revenge against humankind. Hard-Drive was also one of the members of the rogue society of Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants. Playing one of the most important roles within the mutant terrorist society, Hard-Drive consistently acted as the "eyes in the skies," or the master surveillance of their headquarters inside and outside the island of Magneto's Citadel in Genosha. She also served a much larger role in the island's society, helping its civilizations' technology grow and develop, thanks to her astonishing scientific and technological aptitude and natural desire for improvement, not only to herself, but also towards the community of Genosha.
Ultimate War
The notorious enemy of the X-Men known as Mister Sinister intentionally led most of Magneto's loyalists to bring destruction to the city of Novi Grad, in Sokovia, without any orders from Magneto, which immediately got the attention of the X-Men. Little did they know, this strategy was one of the first steps of Essex's plan, as he would later unleash a larger event along with some of the Earth's most powerful and villainous leaders, leading the Great Superhuman Movement.
Thanks to Essex's genius, great scientific aptitude, and knowledge from studying mutants, he had the ability to enhance their mutations to a next level, which impressed Magneto and the rest of Genosha's residents. This included Hard-Drive, who switched sides without hesitation, believing that Sinister's leadership and guidance would not only help Genosha grow and be recognized on a global stage, but make the world realize that mutantkind was the true race that belonged at the top of the food chain.
Ultimate Betrayal
In addition to betraying her leader and her team, Hard-Drive was also requested by Sinister to have select members of the Brotherhood, and half the population of Genosha, have "nanochips" implanted in their heads. These would serve as tracking devices in case they got lost or, in the worst case, kidnapped. Though this could have been done for the safety of Genoshans, the nanochip also contained an unknown chemical and a lethal sedative which could manipulate five chemicals in the brain at her will. Unfortunately, the nanochips also contained a deadly explosive, which could be triggered in anyone who seemed to have hesitations or to those who resented joining Sinister's despotic cause. These chips were activated during the uprising of the Movement, brainwashing those who were unlucky enough to be implanted with the devices. The heartless Hard-Drive sadistically executed everyone who'd been implanted, both preventing every innocent citizen from fleeing the island, and exterminating those whose loyalty remained with Magneto. (Some of Magneto's loyalists, including Juggernaut, Mystique, Pyro, and a few others had their nanochips secretly destroyed by Magneto moments before their activation, and those who weren't implanted with the device in the first place survived as well).
Death and Legacy
She was unexpectedly killed in the final conflicts of the Movement, specifically the Battle of Genosha, by the savage X-Man Wolverine. He went into a fit of berserker rage, brutally slashing apart most of her body's cybernetic implants and the rest of her body's remaining biological parts without any hesitation, killing her slowly and painfully. With her death, the lives of those whom she sadistically murdered during the event were finally avenged.
In the aftermath of Ultimate War, Hard-Drive's shredded, rotting corpse was found inside the temporarily-abandoned Citadel by a group of A.I.M. operatives, who were all disguised as C.I.A. investigators, arriving days before the actual C.I.A. Along with the body, her hidden laboratory, located beneath the dungeon of the Citadel, was discovered by the same men. The operatives were ordered to inspect the entire lab, where they collected all of her scientific works, finished and unfinished, including three brain samples contained inside a glass jar (which were actually her organically-replicated brains, as stated on her own classified worksheets, which were also collected), due to reasons unknown, before leaving moments afterwards.

- After her betrayal of Magneto's Brotherhood faction and subsequent death, Hard-Drive's successor as the technological maker and builder of the Genoshan Citadel was the mutant Forge.
- In death, the great geneticists of A.I.M. were able to use her organically-replicated brains to successfully create a younger clone of Althea named Karima Shapandar, who initially believed Althea to be her older sister.
