History
Origin
Alicia was born to the couple of Phillip Masters, a native of New Orleans, and his wife, Marcia Deston-Masters, a native of New York City.
Eventually, during a battle with the Fantastic Four, the Puppet Master died in combat. Phillip, through Hoodoo blood magic, possessed the body of Alicia. While in control of Alicia's body, Phillip/Alicia took on the alias of Puppet Mistress. Puppet Mistress acted as a villain to the Fantastic Four and took up the Puppet Master's work right where he had left off. In time, as Alicia's soul became too strong to suppress, Puppet Mistress created a clay duplicate body, imbued with Hoodoo blood magic, of Phillip's original. There was a strong possibility that Phillip's soul would not survive the transference; however, in his desperation, Phillip decided to go through with the transference ritual anyway.
After Alicia regained control of her body, the previous presence of Phillip's soul had begun to corrupt her own soul. At this point, Alicia took on the alias of Hoodoo Queen. Alicia left New York to find herself and discover more about her Hoodoo roots. It was at this point that Alicia came into contact with Marie Laveau. Eventually, Alicia completely cleansed her soul from Phillip's corruption and took on the new alias of Voodoo Queen, after her mentor Marie Laveau, the original Voodoo Queen.

- Hoodoo Sorcery: Alicia, like her father, is a practitioner of Hoodoo magic, which has had historical links to the religion of Louisiana Voodoo, though the two are not one and the same.

- Empathy: While Alicia is naturally and innately a kind, nonjudgmental, and empathetic individual, Alicia has the magically heightened ability to "see," or sense, the inner good or evil of a person.
