Aleksei Sytsevich was a Russian mobster who snuck away to America after the Russian government closed in on him. He found safehaven with the Advanced Idea Mechanics, who used him a test subject in their Rhino Armor experiment, which bonded to him completely.
Rhino then became one of AIM's top Enforcers, fighting alongside the others to cause trouble for the Squadron Supreme.

Before becoming the Rhino, Aleksei had multiple run ins with the Black Widow. Since each of them have come to America, they have not interacted once, or are even aware of what the other is doing.
