History

Ne t'inquiète pas, mes camarades. This will be over in a flash, and Hydra will be mine for the taking in no time...
Alec Eiffel

Early Years

Alec Eiffel (born early 1975, died late 2015) was born and raised in a family of fascists who joined, secretly trained and remained loyal to Hydra after World War II while its survival remained hidden. Alec's parents believed that he could potentially rise to the rank of a general in the French faction of Hydra during the events of Ultimate War. When he was running away and hiding from the authorities, he stumbled upon the Spin Makluan ring of the Mandarin and wielding it, he was accepted as its compatible host, Mandarin Three, in order to help him get revenge on the Avenger Quicksilver, the very superhero whom Alec thought had killed his parents in action (although in reality it was one of their situational allies, the Thunderbolt Speed Demon). When the Spin Makluan ring accepted him, it granted him powers similar to his parents' killer: super-speed and the ability to generate and manipulate vortexes.

Mandarin's Rings

After days of searching for his lost rings, the real Mandarin, Wenwu, brought together the wielders of his lost Six Rings: Alec, Exile, Endotherm, Mento-Intensifier, Colin Sixty, and the Mole Man. The Mandarin revealed that he lost most of his rings to Iron Man during a battle a few months after Ultimate War, during Iron Man's second investigation into the Ten Rings. Together, they formed an alliance to channel each other's energies and use their powers for crime, conquest, and vengeance as the Mandarin guided them on how they should each wield their rings.

While Alec and the other wielders of the Makluan Rings destroyed towns, terrorized cities, and helped the Mandarin to channel and unite the rings, they grew more corrupt the longer they wielded the rings, as if they tempted their minds and spirits to betray the Mandarin and take the rest of the rings for their own personal vendettas. In that moment, Alec contemplated getting back at Quicksilver to avenge his parents and hoped that he would use his power to eventually reunite Hydra and take it over in its most vulnerable, fragmented state. However, it was the Mole Man who would spark the battle in the underground Kingdom of Subterranea against the Mandarin, who changed his mind of favoring his kingdom over submitting to such a corruptive power.

Before the Mandarins could target the Mole Man with their rings, which interrupted their own intentions to betray the Mandarin, their attacks were finally thwarted by the Mole Man, who was protecting his kingdom from the Mandarins, as well as his situational allies: Iron Man and the Fantastic Four. Using the ensuing chaos of the battle, Alec was the second ring wielder, after Mole Man, to betray the real Mandarin. In their duel during the final battle, Alec dashed back and forth with his super sonic speed and struck the Mandarin dozens of times, which should've stunned him. Unfortunately, the Mandarin had channeled chi into combat to concentrate on the exact spots where Alec was running, and having far more knowledge and experience with the rings, he swiftly took the Spin Ring back from the Alec's finger. Now back in his hands, Mandarin used the Spin Ring to channel his chi and unleash a megaton punch that obliterated Alec's body into several pieces, killing him as parts of his corpse plummeted into the deep cenotes of Subterranea.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

Vortex Makluan Ring Empowerment: Up until the moment of his death, Alec Eiffel possessed the Spin Makluan ring of the Mandarin, which causes the air to move about at high speeds in a vortex. The vortex can be used as an offensive weapon, as a means of levitating objects, or as a means of propelling the ring's wearer through the air. The ring has such power that it also granted Alec superhuman speed, which Iron Man observed and classified as "Quicksilver level speed."
