Powers and Abilities

Powers:
Conscious Adaptation: Though originally an ordinary human, the Answer has mutant powers that he synthesized from the mutant Darwin, allowing him to adapt superpowers as he needs them. These powers only manifest temporarily, with his pre-determination, and usually only for the length of a single conflict. Most of the superpowers he has developed have been to counter the powerset of Spider-Man, and therefore have been largely physical, though he can produce other less physical abilities as needed. To date, he has demonstrated:

• superhuman speed to counter Spider-Man's enhanced reflexes,
• superhuman stamina to withstand an immense physical assault from Spider-Man,
• superhumanly tough flesh and later kinetic energy dampening in response to being shot,
• a force field to withstand an energy barrage,
• an explosive energy discharge to escape from a solitary prison cell,
• mechanical / digital interference to avoid being detected by armored suits, and later to disable them altogether,
• and air gust amplification in response to being tear-gassed, among others.

Abilities:

• Extreme Intelligence: Akil Nicholson is an extremely accredited neurobiologist, able to examine and comprehend the details of a human (mutant) brain well enough to replicate its effects on himself, and his knowledge of trivia allowed him to become a record-setting game show contestant.
• Combat Skill: Akil's father Aaron was a skilled hitman in the service of the Kingpin and taught his son everything he knew, to the point where Kingpin forced him to stay on in his services after his father's death.

Weaknesses: Planning: Due to the fact that Akil only copied the control center of Armando's brain and focused on emulating his powers instead of developing them, he can only control his evolution based on his own knowledge: if he is caught unprepared, he must choose his adaptation instead of allowing his body to do the reacting. This is the only effective way to counter his powers.

Equipment

The Answer makes use of a jetpack allowing him to fly at above-average speeds.

• Akil Nicholson is the Earth-166 counterpart of Aaron Nicholson (Earth-616).
  • The Egyptian angle was inspired by a reimagining of Answer by nightmarefox1234, and was chosen due to X's appreciation of underrated Egyptian actor Rami Malek, and his turn as a villain in the James Bond film No Time to Die (unreleased as of the time of the character's creation).
  • His turn as a game show contestant was inspired by his Earth-251920 counterpart (on Spider-Man: The Brand New Animated Series) and further inspired by X's appreciation of noted Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings.
