History

I have lived for many years, and I have stared down many would-be despots. You are just another small man seeking to prove he is big. You will fail.
Agatha Harkness

Agatha Harkness was expelled from the Masters of the Mystic Arts for practicing the forbidden Dark Arts. She believed that to truly be a Master, you needed to understand everything mysticism had to offer. Bitter over being exiled, she snuck back into Kamar-Taj and stole the Time Stone right out of the Eye of Agamotto, and replaced it with a fake.

For the next several years, Agatha remained on the run throughout the timestream, and often hid out in her library, which she had removed from time altogether. She enjoyed this power, but believed that the constant use of it was corrupting her, so she chose to return to the present, where she was confronted by Eros and Odin, both of whom had already claimed another Infinity Stone for themselves. Initially believing they were there to kill her, Agatha engaged in battle with them, only to be talked down and told about the mission of the Infinity Watch.

Agreeing to join, Agatha thought it was a good idea when Odin proposed to trade her the Space Stone for the Time Stone. She knew Odin would not abuse the Time Stone, and believed that using the Space Stone to remain on the run would have less of an effect on the fabric of reality.

Agatha spent the next several years using the Space Stone to explore the universe, never returning to the same place twice in order to keep the Stone mobile. However, it eventually became clear that the Black Order had discovered a way to track her teleportations, and was eventually cornered by the likes of Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight. Agatha was able to fend them off for some time using spells and tricks with the Space Stone, but eventually she fell to Corvus's glaive impaling her from behind, opening up for Proxima to take the Space Stone with ease, and present it to Thanos, who had Agatha buried on his farm.
