Early Years[]
Born on the alien world of Axus Abigail Brand (born July, 1980) was the product of a relationship between one of Axus' native males, and her mother a woman named Anna Grace Brand from Earth. Who also happened to be a mutant. Which had faced serious persecution and racism as mutants do. That is until one night while hiding in the woods near her home she encountered Abigails' father. Who had landed on Earth to repair his ship, which has been damaged by an asteroid. After this occured the two seemingly hit it off, after the tension of their initial encounter died down. Anna Grace would come to visit Abigails' father every day, sharing many things in conversation with the alien visitor, the two eventually falling in love. With that Anna had no trouble making the decision to leave Earth and go to Axus. Where eventually Abigail was born, but under the name Thanriaguiaxus. At least until her mother passed away when she was fifteen years old, due to her long exposure to Axus' atmosphere. Which no one at the time knew wasn't safe for humans to be exposed to for long periods of time. Though due to her hybrid nature Abigail was an exception. Even so, with the passing of her mother Abigail no longer wanted to stay on Axus. Thus with her father's assistance she returned to Earth to make a new life there. Taking on her Earth name Brand to not only hide her origin, but to also honor her mother.
Then after her arrival on Earth with the help of her father she established a false background and then began her new life. Quickly learning all the could about Earth, since before her mother's passing she has never been to the planet and only heard about it from the stories her mother used to tell her in her childhood.
With her gifted mind Abigail quickly became a full-fledged member of society. She even went and graduated from college. But right after she was then contacted by the US government, since she had chosen to set herself up in the United States of America, who knew of her origins and wanted her to become an agent for them. Intrigued by the idea Abigail agreed and after she did quickly made a name for herself and rose through the ranks, becoming a commander at only age 28.
Joining S.W.O.R.D.[]
Then just a couple of years after she achieved her rank Abigail found herself contacted by Maria Rambeau, who knew of her alien origin and as such asked her for her assistance in building the organization that would geared toward dealing primarily with extraterrestrials and the threats they posed known as the Sentient World Observation and Response Department or S.W.O.R.D. for short. To which Abigail agreed. She also agreed to stay on staff after the organization was properly established, finding herself as its deputy director. Working hard to keep Earth safe from aggressive alien threats.

- Heat Generation: Her mutant power is the ability to generate heat with her hands. The upper level of the temperature she can generate is unknown, but she can ignite a person by touching them and keep herself and at least one more person alive at -100 °C temperature for a prolonged time. When she uses power her hands starts to glow, the glow have been variously depicted as blue, red, and green. Sometime the glow resembles flames and she was even called a contact pyrokinetic.

- Brand has a tattoo on each biceps; one reads "Grace", the other "Anna". In honor of her mother.
- Due to her alien heritage and hybrid status Abigail's aging process has been decelerated.
- Upon arrival on Earth Abigail dyed her hair black for a short time to blend in, but eventually stopped doing so after becoming a government agent. For she loved her natural hair color as it reminded her of her father.
